BravoTV Message Boards > Shows > Shear Genius
BravoBoardBoss
It's the final four! Four stylists remain to compete for the title of Shear Genius, and must prove their versatility by straightening and styling African-American hair in the short cut challenge. Then it's on to the Elimination Challenge where they must...

Wait, why give this away? Watch the show, and you'll see!

(Don't forget that the special "Shear Genius" reunion episode is going to air back-to-back with tonight's episode! Who do you think will be awarded the $10,000 Fan Favorite prize?)

Once again bravo shows their colors bravo cuts the best people time to stop watching this one too. ridiculous
Emiliano
Shakaama, I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this episode, because I agreed with the judges' decision.

Wow, I hate to see Boogie go but I have to agree with the judges on this one. I adore Boogie but this show aint "Shear BFF". Ive thought Anthony, my hottie, or Tabatha, my gurl, would win from episode 1 but I am seriously thinking Ben takes it all. The guy has skills and would deserve the win. Heck, think about it yall, all 3 finalist deserve to be in the final 3 for once. How rare for Bravo to allow that to happen, huh?

This show was so much better then I ever expected it to be and I hope Bravo learned their lesson this time. Drama is good but too much, especially manufactered drama, ruins a good thing.

Interesting results, I agreed with the judges. Actually I only disagreed with them on one of their decisions. The program so far has been edited with taste. Not too much drama and not boring either. I have found it interesting watching the stylists work the different challenges. I have enjoyed watching the judges come to their decisions. All in all it has been one of the better Bravo programs. smile.gif

AGREE WITH YA BRILL

SAD FOR BOOGIE

BUT HE WAS A BIT OBNOXIOUS THE LAST FEW EPS

MUST BE PART OF HIS PERSONALITY

BECAUSE IN THE REUNION SHOW

MOST OF THE OTHERS WERE MORE RELAXED

I ALSO HOPE THE BRAVO PEEPS APPLY LEARNED LESSONS

TO THE NEW SEASON OF TC

KEEPING MY FINGIES CROSSED AT LEAST biggrin.gif

THE EDITING DIDN'T SEEM TOO BAD FOR THIS SHOW THOUGH

AS THE REUNION REVEALED

I THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD PRODUCTION

HOPE TC WILL HAVE MORE ASPECTS OF THIS FORMAT RECIPE wink.gif

I agree, Boogie should have left. He stepped all over the photographer's shoot. It wasn't Boogie's shoot, it was Marks. I think that ticked off Mark.

If Boogie wouldn't have been so aggressive, Anthony would have gone. Mark was really playing on the roots. And he warned Anthony. Luckily, Boogie was an ass and saved Anthony's!!! (I personally thought she looked stunning)

I don't know if it's hard to style wet hair...but it seemed the easiest to me!! I look like that model every day....with the sultry eyes and wet shirt!!!!!!!! It was like looking in a mirror, I tell ya!!! LOL

I think Anthony did a nice job of choosing who did what type of hair. He gave everyone a chance to show their stuff. Nothing vindictive or strategic....

Ben pulled it off........I love this guy as a person, but can't believe how much he flies by the seat of his pants. Once again proving you don't have to be the best at every competition, you just can't be the worse.

I agree Swiss. This show was a joy..I don't know if we'll ever have such passionate seasons as PR3 or TC2
..I for one LOVE the drama.

Rene'......Swooooooooooon wub.gif

Anthony almost hosed himself by being so generous and nice! Lucky he came thru!! If the roles had been reversed in some other ways, the results would have been totally different!! Ben really lucked out!! I don't know why people think he's that great!! He's been skating thru by the skin of his teeth and got that bonus of doing ROCK hair and nailed it thru no skill of his own!! lol!! If it had been anything else to do, he would have been the 1st to go!! Boogie screwed himself by taking over the photo shoot!! I wonder why no one made comment of that at the "judges' table!" Eyes rolled and breaths were taken with him "steppin' in" a hundred times or more!! That poor staff and model!! lol!!

I just finished watching this episode again, and I forgot something that I thought was funny. When Daisy and Ben were announced as winners, Daisy and Ben hugged, but Daisy even grabbed his buns!!!!

If you didn't catch it this time, check it out. ohmy.gif

That was sooo funny I did see that! I am sure he did not mind though! LOL

I really hope in the final challenge they all get to do what they want with the clients and get to do their own thing. Ben's not a bad stylist, the challenges through the competition weren't really his thing, if he's given the chance to do HIS thing, he'll rock it out. I like to root for the underdog so I'm rooting for Ben all the way!

Daisy's was definately the easiest. Being a hairstylist, I know that it's not hard to make hair wet.

Anthony, he should have listened to Mark about her outgrowth then it wouldn't have been a problem. He screwed himself in that competition.

Dr. Boogie had every reason to be cut. He was unprofessional through the whole photoshoot.

I think Ben is a great guy...No gossip..Straight up a good dude.At least from what I've seen.
As far as his skills..I'm sure he's fantastic in his element....He just might be more specific..He had to be pretty good to get on the how methinks.

I think the gig is that they are looking for person with the best skills across the board. I know very little about hairstyling, but it would seem that, like being a chef, there are certain basics that a winner should be able to accomplish, the more creatively the better.

It seems like they've covered a lot of ground this season, as far as what goes on in the hairstyling world. Ben is obviously really good in his element, but whether he has the versatility...don't know.

He's definitely one of the most likeable people. It makes me a little uncomfortable thinking that my peers (my fellow Shear Genius viewers) thought Tabitha was their favorite. She is such a petty, vindictive, ferret-faced, immature shrew. I feel like I need to take a shower every time she goes off on one of her hateful rants.

Her comment calling Tyson an "evil leprechaun" wins the clueless hypocrisy award of the season, that's for sure.

as a sylist madame you should recognize the ben is just an average stylist but has a carefree attitude. if he f's you up, he'll laught it off. his comment about african american hair and oil was totally ignorant! he may not do it, but hair is hair. i usually go for the underdog too but this guy is a joke. ben himself has been surprised a couple times not being cut. lol.

ya gotta give boogie a break. their is usually a personality like that in every major salon or city. plus he saved your boy ben when he had the chance to do his thing and he didn't even give the doctor credit for it! ben had quit like a beotch and boogie refocused him when he showed him the visual with the hair extensions that shoulda' been in her hair like the dude asked! but ben can't do extensions well sooo...we could all see her hair was too long to really spike and stand tall. after a can or two of spray it stood, but they gave him props anyway...daisy's wet look was good but too easy to win.

Hey All,

The folks at Reville who produce Shear Genius have donated a bunch of cool Shear Genius items for an Ebay auction to help support The Challenged Athletes Foundation. The Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) is a unique organization that recognizes the athletic greatness inherent in all people with physical challenges and supports their athletic endeavors by providing grants for training, competition and equipment needs.

Some of the items include the Wall of Fame Posters; Shear Genius Posters signed by the whole cast, cast nameplates from their stations, and Mannequin heads from the first Short Cut challenge. It’s for a great cause and it’s a chance to own some great items from the show.

Me too! I loved Ben's rock and roll haircut for the photo shoot. I like the three remaining stylists so I'll be happy with whoever wins.

However you haven't seen Ben's strong points truley be highlighted on the show, every stylist has a weakness, not all stylist can do updo's which is a majority of what they have done, but those same stylists may be awesome with a pair of shears. Not every stylist does extensions either, I don't. Plus extensions would have made it 10x harder for the hair to stand up because it would have been heavier, without using poofy pony tails which would have looked horrible. I seriously think they should have let him use better product for the look, then it definately would have stood up much easier, Bed Head makes products that work with that sooo well. Out of all the product in the world, they're promoted by Nexxus? He doesn't work on African American hair so how would he know everything about it? He learned something from it. He was ignorant but now he knows. Being able to laugh at your mistakes is not downfall, I seriously doubt he would laugh at the person if he screwed up.

Agreed. I think the good Dr. thought he'd show off his skills in this area and it got out of hand, then he forgot the "lighter than air" part of the assignment. Had he not I have no doubt he would still be there. Someone elsepointed out that the last few eppies he had become a bit more grating and I thought so as well. I really like all three finalists, can't wait until the show starts!

Heya Siz....I'm kinda with ya' and kinda' not...I liked some things about her...But I hate the whole...Oh I'm so honest so I'm gonna be mean thing......Bollocks!!!!
I think she wanted to be the "TV" villian.......HOW she won fan fave I'll never know.

Daisy or Ben.....They have class...Or Donna...They didn't resort to her level of unkindness.

Mean for sport I call it and I don't like it.

I think she won based on her merit as a hairstylist, not on her personality.
