Could you put that phrase into context? What was happening in your dream when you found yourself uttering those words? I know I'm not good at a lot of languages, but if I hear something, and I see what's happening when they are spoken, I can, usually, get the gist of what they mean. Of course, that's not always the case, and I'm not a Freudian disciple. I'm much more in tune with Jungian theories.

I do like dreams, though, and I love to mull them over, ad nauseum. I also have psychiatrists friends, as well as having had a shrink for over ten years. It's part and parcel of that whole cilinical depression thing, don'tcha know.

Absolutely, and I'll try to make it brief:

In the dream, I came home (the house was not any I'm familiar with in RL, but in the dream it seemed like "home") and was making dinner when I heard laughter from the living room. I went to the living room, at the other end of which stood an ornate altar strewn with all sorts of things one might find in a ritual (incense, oils, powders, cards and the like), including a large wrought iron cross with a heavy piece of lace fabric intricately draped around it. At the altar, two girls were playing with my deck of cards, and I immediately became infuriated, because somehow I "knew" (with that dream logic, y'know?) that someone had deliberately told them they were "toys" and could be played with.

I took the cards away from them, scolding them and telling them that no one ever touched my cards except when I was reading them for someone, and then I scooped up the iron cross, the cloth and the cards, and proceeded to reassemble a miniature version of the altar in another room. As I draped the cloth around the cross in its new location, that's when I started reciting the phrase in question: "mey nīt ən meyt ər waɪ taʊ." While I was reciting it, several smaller "cuts" of cloth fell from out of nowhere onto the altar, and as each one hit the altar, I could hear a distant but vehement voice saying "Nay!" "Nay!" "Nay!" even as I continued the chant.

And that's when I woke up.

So there you have it. There were other details I remember that seem fairly insignificant now but that still stand out, such as the way the house was laid out and decorated, but that's pretty much it.

Any thoughts or interpretations are wholly welcome, because I'm still flummoxed!

Someone has messed with your future. Muses or someone more human has stacked the deck... your deck... against you. You try to make everything the way it was, the way it is supposed to be, somewhere else. You're asking for help but those who can help are refusing.
Just an off the cuff interpretation. Your dream is intriguing me more and more. Do you continue to have it?

In the beginning I was for the war, now I'm afraid it will end up another 'nam which even tho I was really young I protested. Although for different reasoning I think if you're gonna be in it, go in, kick but, and get out, no use in prolonging the inevitable. sad.gif

No interpretation, just a thought since you are a writer. Without stopping to consider, just type out several fictional continuations to your dream, or expand on any aspect that interests you. Do it often enough and maybe you can trick yourself into revealing an area of concern. huh.gif

It's sort of like pulling open drawers in a dresser and having them slam shut almost as quickly. If you can pull enough stuff out of the drawers into a heap on the floor, you may find something hidden in the pile. blush.gif

Lol Note actually I cut the beard off Tuesday night I figured since they wrapped 12 Rounds I did not need it anymore.... As you know Jenn sings on Bourban Street 5 nights a week and she hates me haveing a beard... but she understands I have to change my look as a actor.... So I cut it off and staid up untill she came home in the middle of the morning... it took her about 30 secounds to exclaim Lips you have lips and Kissed me all over.. lol

Needless to say she is HAPPY.... but I still have the long hair.

I was gonna cut it short again but I got this role so unless they want me too I wil not cut it yet... but yeah this guy works at a Strip Club so I guess he is a little Shady.. blush.gif

Okay, someone's got to say it.

One of the main reasons I liked Top Chef last season was seeing an episode and then reading Anthony Bourdain's blog. His posts were hillarious and entertaining and made me keep coming back for more. Now, I die a little inside reading Gail's blog which Bravo plops up sans editing (chefs "banning" together? surely they'd be better off banding together!) and is about as interesting as mayo on white bread.

Come on, Bravo! Pony up and pay Bourdain to blog, if you have to! He's actually, you know, a writer and brings in readers... and viewers!

I can definitely see the logic in your interpretation, PG. With what's been going on at work, I probably do feel that my future is no longer up to and dependent upon me, but is being "toyed with" by outside forces.

What I still don't have a handle on is the meaning of that phrase, and it was the most prevalent thing in the dream, so much so that when I woke in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, I had to turn on the light and find a piece of paper to write it on, because I had the overwhelming impression that it was the most important thing I'd ever heard/said, and that it was a "key" of sorts.

I've had a "version" of the dream for several nights over the last week, with subtle differences (in one I'm buying the house but it's not mine yet and I'm driving by it while reciting the phrase. In another, I'm reciting the phrase as I climb the stairs to a remote room on the topmost floor, where a fire blazes in the fireplace of a room that's filled with plush furnishings but an absent, unknown inhabitant. In yet another version, I'm simply at the store in the middle of the night, saying the phrase to someone I'm buying a random pint of honey flavored ice cream from, and who understands what I'm saying even though I can't.)

Somehow that phrase means something, and something important, I just know it, but I have no idea how to unlock that meaning.

Maybe that's the point--to know something crucial inside, but to never be able to unlock what it is in the here and now. Still, I really want to know what those words mean!

I'm going to make this real quick. My youngest son called me this morning to tell me a friend of his (not the best friend, but a friend and co-worker), laid down on the railroad tracks a block from my son's house. Friend isn't coming back. It's just freakin tragic.

Take some time every day and really listen to people and what they are trying to say. Just having someone listen can make all the difference---you don't have to even try to fix it---listen.

While I don't really know whether the phrase is a charm or a curse (help or hindrance) at this point, I do feel that it's something I need to know or "learn." At a discount station in Bowie, MD (between DC and Annapolis), it was $3.659 for regular tonight. The first time I filled up my Prius at the same station after I bought it in Nov. '04, the price was $1.979.

I don't mean to gloat (well, maybe I do), but buying that hybrid car is one of the best moves I've made in my life. At the time I bought it, I calculated that I would get back the extra price I paid for the car in gas savings in 4 to 5 years. The way that gas prices skyrocketed, I'm convinced that I got my money back in just 2 1/2 to 3 years. Every time some Hummer, Expedition, or Yukon driver at the station asks me what kind of mileage I get, and I say 44 to 46 mpg, I love seeing them get green with envy.

I may be a nice guy on the outside (most of the time), but on the inside, I can be one nasty little devil.

smile.gif Yep...I was born in Texas. My hubby will be asking the dr. about the pump next time he goes in. I'll google that acetone experiment. Thank-you KK...It was very nice of you to help me.

psh told me about 5 hours ago to go to the off topic thread to read about a live concert he attended and I've been camping out here ever since.

Since I'm bursting with news myself to share with all the singers/classical musicians and listeners I'll forge ahead without him. Here in Cleveland this weekend our classical FM music station is broadcasting the final competition of its first ever choral contest for church choirs. Six finalists are competing from a field of 27 that submitted entries.

And it will be broadcast LIVE ON LINE starting at 8 PM EDT this Friday !!

Here's a link to all the details:

http://www.wclv.com/page.php?pageID=370

My own church choir is one of the finalists. As an over-the-hill tenor I no longer sing in it but I plan to be with them in spirit. Three groups will perform Friday evening and the rest will be featured Saturday morning starting at 10 AM EDT. The judges will announce the winners later in the day.

I will be listening Friday evening but will be driving out of radio station range during the Saturday morning performance. I'd love to hear from any of you who have a chance to tune in then.

The last Psh sighting was at Kroeger's
(I'm assuming that's the name) about 4 hours ago...He called to say he changed his plan as per my advice.

He is now off on a pixie run most likely and probably will not be heard from for days...Just didn't want your foot to hurt from all that a tappin'. tongue.gif

The music sounds lovely.

Sorry hun...

Anyway, I finally got to hear the Faure, Requiem, live, and an added bonus was that it was performed in the church I grew up in...The Nova Singers performed with the Quad City Symphony...At the First Congregational Church, in Moline, IL...
To date, it has to be one of, if not the, most sublime musical experiance of my life...IMHO the three most moving parts are(in order)the A-men, which concludes the Offertory, when the tenors, float over the other voices, then split on the last note...The next is the Sanctus, I always tear up(good tears)...I noticed I wasn't the only one needin' a kleenex...And of course the In Paradisum, for some reason this time I totally lost it(maybe it was just the emotion of actually hearing it live)I actually started sobbing, I just closed my eyes and just let the tears flow...It was a very personal moment between my God, and myself...Again though, I wasn't the only one wiping away tears...And as the last note of the final requiem floated skyward, the entire church was totally-and I DO mean TOTALLY silent for at least ten, to fifteen, seconds; not a cough, nothing...Then thunderus applause...

"In Paradisum deducant te Angeli;
in tuo adventu
suscipiant martyres,
et perducant te
in civitatem santam Jerusalem.

Chorus Angelorum te suscipiat,
et cum Lazaro quondam paupere
aeternam habeas requiem.

At a discount station in Bowie, MD (between DC and Annapolis), it was $3.659 for regular tonight.

Last summer I purchased a new car, thought about a hybrid, but I had already fell in love with the look of the Dodge Caliber. So I bought that. It gets about 38 mpg hwy 32 City, so I'm O.K. with that. My Dodge diesel truck gets about 22 mpg as long as we're not towing our camper. Gas prices just went up again, last night to $3.85/gal. When is it going to stop? Personally I can afford the prices, though I don't like it, I feel for people who don't have my income, I don't see how they're making it. I don't believe in governmental controls usually, but man, I think they need to step in here and fast.

OH JME, not work. Been doing it since the kids were born. Cater on the side so I have a system. Plus, campgrounds are great. Kids can spread out and amuse themselves. Just have to keep an eye on them. After the kiddy thing is over, we turn it into our annual adult spring party.

As for the pinata. Also, not a problem. Colio's birthday is in December. Last year I got one of those pinatas where you can pull a string to release the bounty instead of hitting it. After all the kids pulled a string the candy still hadn't released. So, we put it on the floor and let them go at it. It was like a scene from the Lord of the Flies. They were insane and there was nothing left but little pieces of Sponge Bob everywhere.

I like your idea---how many kids you gonna have?

On the day of kindergarten orientation for my youngest son, one kid's partents handed out invitations to his birthday party to every kid in the class---25 of them. I was like--"C'mon people---what are you trying to do the the rest of us parents????" If you're gonna have a lot of kids you have to have lots of adults to help out.
