Yeah, that one had me scratching my head, as well.
My mother was in Baltimore to see Kenny Chesney Saturday night. She and my stepfather spent the night there, so we went up and took both our mothers to dinner that night. It was kind of odd to spend time with both our mothers, as they're very different people, but we had a good time, and that's all that matters.
I just wish the weather had been better, as it rained all freaking day. It was the first time that we had the blended family together at one time, though, and that was really good. They've spoken, and have spent minutes together, but it was really special to have the women we both love, in one place, at the same time.
Overall, it was a really good day, and I think it began a tradition of having everyone together at the same time. At the end of the day I heaved a huge sigh of relief, cause you never really know how these things will go until you do them once.
I'm back in town after flying to Nebraska for a nephew's wedding on Sunday. I finally got through the backlog of "Wedding Wars" posts (though sometimes I got confused and thought I might be on the OT board). Now, I'm finally trying to wade through the OT board itself.
Regarding Mother's Day, because the wedding was on Mother's Day, and all my siblings and their spouses attended along with Partner and me, it was the first time that all of us had been together with my mother on Mother's Day, since I moved east in fall 1977. Although the focus of the day was the wedding, my mother was also ecstatic to have us all together on "her" day.
