Geeze-o-petes. Two days ago our high temp didn't break 70....today it's in the 90's with tornado warnings. Got the house closed up tight and the air running at full blast to try to at least keep it in the upper 70's. Too hot to cook or eat much even so we will be foraging....we'll grab whatever is in the pantry/fridge/freezer that can be consumed without heating this place up. We are supposed to go to my nieces graduation party tomorrow (outdoor affair and going to be 90+ again). I've been feeling kinda puny (hot one minute, chills the next) so I'm thinking about bailing out on the party which will put me in tons of hot water with the inlaws. Please wish me luck!!

I've been a member of TWoP since the first season of Top Chef. I've felt the wrath of Keckler more than once. Keckler was fair in levying demerits or warnings. Her successor, Nikita, not so much. She was like the police issuing a speeding ticket for going 5 mph over the speed limit. I don't post there very much anymore but use TWoP as a source of information as there are all sorts of valuable links to Top Chef.

Since I'm already in the doghouse with MY MIL, why don't you just come over to my house and let me get you all fixed up.

It is getting mid to upper 90's, but thankfully the AC is putting out well and it is fairly comfortable here. I might even be able to whip up a few of those natural remedies listed on prior pages to get you feeling right as rain in no time!

Oh hon I sure would if I was a better patient. I know I'm whining here but usually if I don't feel good I just want to be left alone (too many years of being wife, mom, employee that just had to work through it when I felt bad). You don't have to nurse me just let me nap...maybe I will feel better when I wake up. I can get my own cold beverage when I'm ready for one and I hate to inflict my royal crabbiness on anyone else.

My inlaws will get over it or not...50+ mile drive each way and right now I'm just not feeling up to it.

Normally I love the heat...but right now the internal thermostat is on the fritz!!

But I love your invitation....can I come and hang with you when I'm feeling better???

I'm sorry you're feeling poorly. Rest up. Drink plenty of fluids, though I wouldn't recommend the adult beverages tonight-strictly water or OJ. Try to stay cool.

Listen, unless you've had a family member forcibly evicted from a property you own (*whistles innocently into the wind), then your family will get mad and they'll get glad again. Would they rather you spread "the love" and get everyone sick?

I'm here. I'll take a fuzzy navel since I don't like beer. I hope everything is fine with those who have been out of the loop for a couple of days. I'm glad to finally hear from JMe, but Jazzie hasn't been to the porch for a day or so and others have had some wicked weather fly through. MoHub posted on the other thread, so she's just fine. Here, it officially hit 100 degrees today. Peaches should be good and ripe very shortly.

Well, mine are still little. We just had one in our first year as a "Grader" and I have a second that hasn't even made it out of preschool! But, I swear they cut the cord in the hospital. I know I wasn't under that many drugs!

WE shared an apartment for 3 years, are still loving siblings and his girlfriend thanks me almost weekly, that he is capable, independent and self-sufficient. Qualities I teach my own boy.

I still *heart* it so very, very much.

Mine seems to think it's cheaper to use Mom's washer/dryer/laundry stuff than it is to use the laundry mat at school. Won't use the dorm washer since thengs "disappear" there at an alarming rate.

Maybe with the gas getting so high, it will be chaper to dole out quarters at the laundry mat, soon. Don't get me wrong, love the kid - does me proud, just can't takethe "well, this is how I think you should do this ....". Once they turn 18, they think they know EVERYTHING and you know NOTHING. (...said as I remember how as my children got older, the smarter my parents became in my eyes - )

It's so hard to find it played in German anymore. I actually heard it for the first time when I lived in Europe and had only a fractured understanding of the language - but there was no misunderstanding of Captain Kirk! Loooooooooove it! I knew it word for word in German back then ........

It wasn't until I returned a year or so later that I learned that there was 99 Red Balloons to be played here.
