DURING THE CHOKE TRAINING EXERCIZE

ONE OF THE THINGS TO DO WAS

EXPOSE HER TO COHABITATION OF SPACE WITH OTHERS

WELL TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT

SHE DIDN'T GO FOR IT laugh.gif

SHE'D HAVE TO BE "FIXED" AND TO HAND OVER ME LEASH..............

I never took Ponya to obedience training. She, also, was too dang smart for it. She always played nice with other dogs. She even had a boyfriend, Cyrus, tho she was spayed due to preggo complications. She always looked mildly appalled by his nose-to-nose kisses.
Anyhoo... there was one dog she couldn't abide, a black lab of all things. I was walking her out of the apt. building as they were coming downstairs. They met in the landing and the wrath of hell insued. Ponya lost a toe-nail and the lab lost his appetite for fighting. She was ticked about that all day... paced the floor growling. Didn't need a translator for what she was saying.
Could talk about her all day. She was my baby. Saved her from death. We went everywhere together and she saved my life a time or two. I share your pain as I feel it, too.

Drew and I counted the number of hours that I've seen Bruce, live, and it's about two weeks. I know he did a solid week of perfomances at Carter Baron before "Born to Run" came out, and I was there all 5 nights. That's about 20 hours right there.

And, I see Bravo are their, usually, adorably, prompt selves in getting the episode three board up. Was anybody surprised by that?

[/url]]OK. I need some help. I won't be so stupidly brash as our jerk of a couple days ago that posted its statement and then sat back to observe the responses for its Sociology report. I need answers to 2 questions for my Statistics project. Don't answer if you don't want to. No names will be included in the paper... just responses. For those who have already responded I truly appreciate it. If I get an "A" I will share it with the board. Drinks all around!

1) How many times per month do you shop for groceries?

2) At checkout... do you prefer the conventional lanes, express lanes, or the self check out lanes?

My other alternative was to do this in a mall and I hate being accosted by them when I shop. Please, forgive the intrusion but thanks so much for the help! smile.gif

Does anyone else think the level of cooks on the new season is poor compared to the other seasons? Maybe we just haven't got to know them as well yet but it seems like compared to the other professionals that have been on there that the new ones are pretty lame. There's only like 3 good ones, the Australian, the chicago girl and then that guy that used two pans on the first show.

It's a difficult task to please everyone, and Bravo's shows are no exception. They're between a rock and a hard place, I think. If they develop a season around "experienced" cheftestants, there are complaints that they're not showcasing enough "novice" chefs, and are pandering to more established ones, but if they develop a season around "novice" chefs, there are complaints that they're not showcasing enough "established" talent, and are pandering to the untrained.

It's kind of a catch-22, you see?
KSBEAR
I think these people are all seasoned cooks. Just can't get a fix on how experienced they all are due to the weird choices they are making. Stephanie owns her own restaurant and is supposedly a food goddess in Chicago. She has shown she has the stuff, but has made at least one really bad choice so far. Several of the others are line cooks trying to break out. I say give it some time. Remember how Michael really pulled it out on the 7 deadly sins competition? I would never have guessed he could do that based on his performance and attitude.

I've been buying LP's since around 1962 and saved them all. My husband's been buying as long, and saved a few. We gave them all to my brother about ten years ago, who'd been buying since around 1970. My brother died about a year ago, and we then gave all the LP's - close to 1000 - to my son, who at 27 has a record collection to rival anyone's at this point - and three copies of some best sellers from three decades ago. He said that he played a different LP every day for close to a year and still hasn't gotten through them. He's discovered that he likes almost all of them except my brother's 70's favorites - Yes and Jethro Tull - who I can take or leave.

Since I have older brothers and sisters, I have albums dating back to the 50's. Have some classics I won't give up, Janis Joplin and the HOLDING COM< AND COUNTRY Joe and the Fish. Okay, I'm new to these boards, and I'm a bit puzzled as to why there isn't a topic for this week's episode yet, because I'd certainly like to talk about that one.

I just got done watching my TiVo'd episode 3, and I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed in the judging. I don't know if anyone else got that, but I'm sure more than a little puzzled by their choice.

From the comments being made by the neighborhood people, it seemed to me that their favorites were all from the Red Team. Now, I'm sure that there is some editorial license taken there, so perhaps the guys cutting the episode wanted us to think that's the way it went. Still, I tend to think that the guys putting the stuff together for our viewing pleasure want to give us the most realistic picture of what happened--it's how they've done things in the past.

Given that, I think that this is certainly one of those challenges where the judges should have had comment cards for the folks in the neighborhood to complete indicating their preferences. They've done that in every season previously, and it certainly would have made sense here to at least get a sense of how the people for whom the food was made felt about it. By not doing that and by arbitrarily selecting what they thought amongst themselves comprised "winning" the challenge, I think that the judges lost some credibility.

They had some good points about the food not being made well, but I personally can't see how those corn dogs could have been any worse than what must have been one of the most awful macaroni and cheese dishes ever served on planet Earth! Additionally, no one seemed to like the paella, which apparently really wasn't a paella. It just seemed to me that there were enough bad dishes on the Blue side, mixed in with the rest of their mediocre stuff, that the really good things about what the Blue team did, which were apparently the skewers and the sliders, should have carried more weight.

I guess the only thing I can do is give the judges credit for warning the Blue team that their victory was had by only the slimmest of margins and that they produced food well below the threshold of their capabilities.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents about the episode. Sorry if I'm getting in the way, but without anywhere to post my comments about this week's episode, I just thought this would be the most appropriate place.

Thanks for putting up with me.

Best,
x

OMG, I couldn't agree more! I mean, they won't let us start topics, so somebody over at BravoTV needs to wake up and do the job their paid to do, don't you think? Either that, or put the folder for "EPISODES" out there and let us start all the topics we want, willy nilly. I mean, if I'm on pretty much every other BB out there it works just that way. I get that they want a pretty much maintenance free thing here, but if that's the case, then just let us do our thing. If someone gets out of hand, then we report them, the mods come in and shut that person down. It's all pretty basic stuff, no?

Anyway, thanks for posting this...maybe someone will catch up. Or hey, here's an idea...try putting up new topics for every episode that's going to air this season so that when the episode has been on for the week, we can go into that folder and post until our heart's content. Sounds good to me...

Hey Aloha, do they have one for tapes also? My dad started writing songs and singing them at the ripe old age of 80. He passed away in Sept 2 months short of his 90th bd. I'd love to put those tapes on CD so they'll keep forever. I believe there are some expensive ones out there, but don't have that kind of money. Thanks in advance

Woohoo!

I just got our Nationals season tickets. Today in the Washington Post they had a full section on the new park and it just looks amazing. Now if we want to see a ball game in a comfy park we don't have to travel to Balmer. I am stoked

And I am mortally jealous! Just cross your fingers that The Metropolitan Chorus gets called to sing the Anthem at a game and we get to stay and watch the proceedings!

Hi there, message board newbie here!

I just wanted to get the word out about my new blog - barredowl.wordpress.com where I discuss each Top Chef episode and other fun stuff!

My latest Top chef entry is about the location of the block party with maps and the analysis of a chicago-native (me!)

See you around,

CNN reports

Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy takes out his phone and calls the emergency services.

He gasps:

"My friend is dead! What can I do?"

The operator says:

"Calm down, I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead."

There is a silence, then a gunshot is heard.

Back on the phone, the guy says:

"OK, now what?"

BTW, they've now dropped the apostrophe from the group's name. Someone must have hit them with a grammar book.

I swear it wasn't me!

Hi, Actor. My business trip to NOLA's been shortened yet again. Anyway, 20 hours in your city. Grab one meal to take back to the meeting: Po'boy? Muffuletta? Mothers? Elsewhere? I'll be in the business district. Thanks!

1. I do a lot of organic and fresh produce shopping, so I end up going maybe 2-3 times a week to find what's freshest and in season. Overall I'd say 8-12 times a month.

2. I use the express lane when I have 10 items or less, but regardless, I prefer the conventional lanes. We don't have a lot of self checkout here, period, and to be honest, I've never been to a "grocery" store here that had the option of self check out.

Union family. Real people pushing cash register buttons, toll booth buttons, plumbing and electrical. We switched grocery stores when ours went to self-check lines. My favorite place to shop is the butcher shop around the corner; they carry fresh produce and some good wines and chocolates. Ah.

I'm sorry. I have been a fan of Top Chef for years. I have watched from Day One. But this season??? Did you run out of viable actual chefs?? These people are not Top Chefs! And what about the jerk off that claims he has to be pulled off by security?? HELLO?? Come on guys. You know there are many, many good cooks out there. You just didn't come up with them this season. I'm really sorry. Just wish there was something to replace. Not. But I'm not going to watch anymore. Just too (I was going to say painful, but actually just disappointing.).

Saw the digital recorder turntable in the Sky Buy catalog this week. They sell one for cassette tapes, too.
