Ok here is answer that will screw up your spread sheet... with me/us it varies. Most of thetime we go between 4 and 6 times amonth. However, if I am in the middle of a food project I might go 3 times in one day if I am not as organised as I should be.
I am a equal opportunity lane chooser, again depending on how many items I have and how big a hurry I am in.

LOL! No worries on screwing up my project... I can do that blind folded! LOL! I haven't heard back on my project from the prof yet. I'm kind of anxious... At this point I'm just hoping to get through statistics. My brain is just not wired that way... Accounting... no problem... the n sigma of s for the value of 13... forget it.

How are ya feelin', "Chevy Chase-er"? laugh.gif

I'm a huge David Bowie fan, and even he can't do justice to Bruce. Bowie's version of "Growing Up" is cringe worthy, and he didn't mess with the arrangement, like those bozos.

I know when Mann's version of "Blinded by the Light" was a hit we used to make rude comments when it played.

NP RIVER........WAS JUST A FEW COINS wink.gif

YOU KNOW THE THING YOU MENTION HERE ABOUT

AUDIOPHILES IS PRETTY MUCH TRUE

MOST "DO" ENJOY VINYL

SHRUG

NOT SURE WHY

SEEMS THEY LIKE THE HISS AND POP THAT GOES ALONG

WITH THE RECORDINGS

WHAT I FIND WIERD IS MOST OF THE SETUPS THEY USE

INCLUDE SOUND FILTERS AND EQUALIZERS laugh.gif

HAD SOME SERIOUS EQUIPMENT AT ONE TIME

AND REMEMBER SPENDING HOURS MAKING

MASTER TAPES FROM RECORDINGS

FILTERING OUT ALL THE HISS AND POPS

AND REHIGHLIGHTING THE HIGHS AND LOWS laugh.gif

TRYING MY BEST TO GET A "CLEAN" SAMPLE

THEN CAME CDS wacko.gif

NOW MY SYSTEM IS RELATIVELY SIMPLIFIED

AS THE ONLY HISS TO BE DETECTED NOW

IS THE HISS FROM THE SPEAKERS BEING OVERAMPED laugh.gif

I DO THINK ALOT OF AUDIOPHILES SAY STUFF LIKE THAT

BECAUSE

THEY JUST WANT TO BE JUDGED AS "ONE IN THE KNOW"

ME? I THINK IT'S SNOTTY biggrin.gif

CD'S SOUND SOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER

ESP WHEN REMASTERED BY A GOOD RECORDING STUDIO

BUT NO MATTER HOW IT'S RECORDED

I FEEL NOTHING PROJECTS IT BETTER THAN

A BOSE SYSTEM biggrin.gif

TAKE CARE OVER THERE

HAVE FUN

Don't own any vinyl... lest it be what's in my closet laugh.gif
Grew up listening to records 'cause I'm old enough. I like the sound quality of CD's but every now and then I'll listen to a CD that my parents previously owned on 33's and I expect to hear the historic bump or click and it's not there. Makes me feel like I'm missing something. And I agree with ya on the Bose... While living on campus at UofK... people always knew when I was home...

When I say I appreciate vinyl more than compact discs it's because I prefer the feel of it, and I never ever used a graphic equalizer, or tried to clean up the sound of the vinyl that I put on tape. What's the point? It sounds the way it does because the artist wanted it to sound that way. I figure who am I to contradict their vision?

And, to be perfectly frank with you, jazz, opera and classical music is a disaster on compact disc. It just doesn't have the right "feel" to it. I just can't use it at all.

I'm with you, Bear! I find digitizing music gives it a cold, clinical feel. There's a certain inexpressible warmth to the old vinyl. To my ear, it's similar to the difference between the sound of a drum with a head made from real hide and one with a head made of plastic.

Oh Aloha, quite Zen! I guess it's my favorite quote because more and more in life everything I hold dear turns out to be a lie. So if I apply the application that "everybody lies" I won't end up disappointed in what I thought was the truth. And therefore I question everything. O.K. so maybe I'm a little paranoid!

Which is kinda what I was trying to say, but failed. The new stuff we'll never know how it sounds in vinyl form... the stuff that we had on vinyl when translated it does lose some of its character... I miss the bumps and such. You said it better... it doesn't have the right feel

Exactly! Life is messy, and we want our art to reflect that messiness. You "can" clean up a track, like The Velvet Underground's "Sister Ray", but, the question is, "should" you?

One of the things that made that track so vital was the way that the instruments "bled" into the other instruments. It's epic the way it is, and, cleaned up, it just doesn't have that grandeur any longer.

And, I know I have "Sketches of Spain" on vinyl and compact disc. I'll always gravitate towards the warmth of the vinyl version. Who wouldn't if they knew what they were missing on CD?

rolleyes.gif Glad we could help Parts hope you get an A !!!

So yesterday I did my filming for 12 Rounds and had a blast! My first surprise of the day was seeing old friends that worked on the crew and were really excited that I got the part.... My secound surprise was being so taken care of by the crew come here is your trailor....lol Oh now we have to take you to make-up....lol I had forgoten to set my alarm so I woke up looked at the clock yelled the F word really loudly and Jenn jumps up and says WHAT? I said I have to be on the set in 30 min. ohmy.gif

So needless to say I did not get my shower got dressed in a hurry and headed to the base camp. As soon as I walked into make-up I said " Make me pretty".... there was this beautiful actress sitting in a chair getting her make up done and she turned around to introduce herself and shake my hand...my eyes got huge and I told her you need no introductions I'm a huge Jericho fan... it was non other than Ashley Scott who plays Emily on the show she was such a sweetie..... wub.gif

Well after make-up and waredrobe it was hurry up and wait time so for the next 5 hours I either sat in my trailor going over my lines or B.S.'ing with the crew...

Finaly got my call they were ready for me on the set..... My scene is with Ashley and John Cena..... I was so nervous my hands were shakeing so much the make-up artist who was trying to dirty me up was worried..lol

So for the next 3 hours we filmed over and over and then broke for lunch and then filmed some more..... by the time I was wrapped I hear this Loud voice yelling my name from the set.... out came Renny Harlin the director and said " Kim you are brilliant..... Do you know what the differance is between a Great Film and a bad Film are? I said what? He said " A Great Film is when you see an actor in a small role make it look so natural and real that you just believe them as that charecture.... You did that brilliantly and it was pleasure working with you."

Well talk about flooring me with that... I said thank you it was a privilage as well all I was trying to do was not screw up....lol

As we drove off into the sunset Ashley turned to me in the van and said you know Renny dose not give compliments and to tell you the truth he told me about 2 weeks ago and said you are going to love the actor I got for Phil.

Thank for takeing the time to read this long post and letting me toot my horn a bit.... blush.gif

Oh, Actor, I am so happy for you! I'm glad it was a wonderful experience and what a compliment, especially from Renny Harlin! If you ever had any doubts...man, something like that should blow them away!

Gregory House, MD. played by Hugh Laurie, is the protagonist of my fave tevee show "House". He's this maverick medical genius diagnostician. House frequently says "Everybody lies," but jokingly remarked that he was lying when he said it in the first season finale. He has this very difficult personality and is like a medical detective as his character was based on Sherlock Holmes, except instead of cocaine, House is addicted to Vicodin.

But you are right about the character living in a sad place as he has chronic pain from his leg, and is not lucky in love and so goes to prostitutes.

There is truth to be found in the choice of a person's lies, and demeanor and personality. The very last test is how they react when confronted with the lie. That is why I enjoy the show "House". Gregory House, MD. ignores the social niceties in order to solve medical puzzles. And he cares not at about patient or public reaction. happy.gif

I'd rather listen to my old LP's any day. When I purchased my "new" stereo nine years ago, I told the clerk I had to have a turntable. They had one stereo left with a turntable, a 3 - CD player, and a dual cassette deck without the box. I got him to knockoff $20 on the price and loaded it up. When the day comes that they say that CD's are dead (and I can hear the deathknell as I type this), I don't know if I'll buy into the new format. I'm still holding off on an IPOD/MP3Player because it will be just one more place to buy up a lot of music I already own!

You Know Bear I have to give the credit to Renny.... it was such a joy working with him in between takes he would come up and in a quite conversation to me say just the right direction that brought out the best.

After about 30 min. of this he never said a thing again to me..... So in my mind I thought he gave up on me and it sucked...lol
I guess it turns out the direction he gave me I followed to the T and it worked. I know you think John Cena sucks but I think Renny will make him be a break out star in this film.

I had to be fresh in every take that is what we are paid to do.... I swear I concentrated so hard in a piece that may be 3 min. in the film that it took me a day to recover...lol

John is the lead and has every Mon. off because he has to Wrestle for the WWE but damn if he is not back on Set at 7:00 A.M. to film on Tuesday after flying back all night. I respect that!

I DO LIKE THAT SHOW NOTE.............

AND A KINDA SORTA SIMILAR

" BECKER " AS WELL.....................

THINK HOUSE IS THE SERIOUS SIDE OF BECKER wink.gif

Needless to say I'm going to renew my license in the morning... especialy if it effects me not getting my paycheck on time.... lol

NOT ME.................

AS I TREASURE MY VINYL COLLECTION

MANY NEVER MADE TRANSITION TO TAPE

SO AS A RESULT

NEVER MADE IT TO CD

ANYTIME I DO USE MY TURNTABLE

I TAKE MORE CARE IN DOING SO

AS TO NOT DAMAGE THE FRAGILE VINYL

WHICH ERODES WITH EVERY TOUCH OF THE TRACKING

NEEDLE.....TRAVELING IN AN ARC........tongue.gif

I DO LIKE MY VINYL

BUT BECAUSE I DO SO APPRECIATE WHAT IS STORED ON SOME OF THEM

AND BECAUSE SOME CAN NEVER BE REPLACED

I PREFFER THE DIGITIZED FORMAT

CDS GET CHEAPER wink.gif

LPS GET RARER .......AS THEY ARE HARDER TO

DUPLICATE

YUPS

I RATHER PLAY TEN CDS CREATED

FROM ONE LP

THAN USE THAT ONE LP

TILL THE FIDELITY TURNS INTO HISS

SOUND LOST ......... FOREVER

Yeah I did, and DA*M WHO wouldn't wanna look like that...Looking like somebody can get you work...$1000.'s of dollars...Other Countries would rather hire a "look a-like" than pay the real "stars" price...(Which would probaly 'bankrupt' the countries of their "children")

A LITTLE OF EVERYTHING YOU STATE MISSIN biggrin.gif

IT WAS TECHNOLOGY...............

THEN WHEN THE PROFITS ROLLED IN

SO DID THE PLANNED OBSOLESENCE

I REMEMBER LINEAR TRACKING TURNTABLES...

ALMOST JUMPED ON THE AUDIOPHILE BANDWAGON

TO BUY ONE..................wacko.gif

LESS THAN A YEAR LATER

THE INTRODUCTION OF THE CD PLAYER LOL

BELIEVE IT OR NOT SHARED THE SAME FEELINGS

THE BEARS HAVE EXPRESSED ABOUT THE DIGITIZED FORMAT

BUT AS I SAW MY COLLECTIONS OF TAPES

DEREZZ

AND VINYL ERODE

ABANDONED THAT TRAIN OF THOUGHT

CONCLUDING THAT THE PRESERVATION

OF MUSIC THAT I ENJOY WAS BEST ACCOMPLISHED

BY DOING SO

HAVE TOSSED OUT MOST OF MY TAPES

YES 8TRACK AND CASSETTE wink.gif

AS THIER SOUND LADEN AMBER COATED RIBBONS

FLAKED .. LEAVING CLEAR REMNANTS OF WHAT WAS

AND HAVE STOPPED DESTROYING THE FIDELITY

OF UNREPLACABLE VINYL

HAVEN'T GONE FULLY DIGITAL THOUGH

STAYING AWAY FROM THE DOWNLOADS WHICH

"IPODS" ALLOW........

AS I'M STILL A BIT SCEPTICAL

DON'T THING THAT FORMAT HAS REACHED IT'S PINACLE

STILL RECALL DAYS OF NAPSTER

AND MANY OF IT'S OFFSPRING

DEPENDING ON THE DOWNLOAD

SOME WERE FILLED WITH GLITCHES

DO APPRECIATE THE MINIATURIZATION THOUGH

AS CARRYING THE IPOD

MAKES MORE SENSE THAN A CD PLAYER

ESP WITH IT'S SHOCK RESISTANT CHARACTERISTICS

NOT TO MENTION THE STORAGE CAPACITY

BUT THE PRO'S HAVE NOT OUTWIEGHED THE CONS .......... YET

FOR ME ANYWAY

Grew up listening to records 'cause I'm old enough. I like the sound quality of CD's but every now and then I'll listen to a CD that my parents previously owned on 33's and I expect to hear the historic bump or click and it's not there. Makes me feel like I'm missing something. And I agree with ya on the Bose... While living on campus at UofK... people always knew when I was home...

I'm with you, Bear! I find digitizing music gives it a cold, clinical feel. There's a certain inexpressible warmth to the old vinyl. To my ear, it's similar to the difference between the sound of a drum with a head made from real hide and one with a head made of plastic.
