LOL! So did my sister! She was weird when she was a kid! She loved raw hot dogs right out of the package and she would put Tang powder in a dixie cup a just lick it right off her finger! I think her finger was orange until she was about 13!!

Ok here's a really good one--my brother hated fat of any kind-meat had to be trimmed of all traces and bacon had to be about burnt, but he would sit and eat sugar by the spoonful---just the thought makes me shudder!!!

I actually used to like La Choy too, before I had a taste of more "authentic" chow mein. I used to go through and pick out all the crunchety water chestnuts to munch on. And, of course, the crispy noodles were fantastic!

We used to make bread and butter and sugar sandwiches.

My nephews have your brother beat.....ALL three of them will NOT eat any food if it's touching the other on the plate....I mean they will not eat it and my sis has to buy the plates with the separators.

Their father had the same habit whenst young but does not have it now so they never knew that...I still am amazed at that.

I knew someone who would not eat brown food..lol

Yea I know people with the touching thing, on the other hand my husband likes to "rile" certain foods---mashed potatoes and peas for example. But I have a sister who would not eat vegetables---I mean not any---peas, beans, corn, carrots much less broccoli, cauliflower etc.
She would make herself throw up or stash them in a napkin, flush them down the toilet whatever got her out of eating them. On the other hand I have another brother that had to consume mass quantities---I mean this kid could eat.

My sister refused to eat anything green. My mom would tell her that green beans tasted like green m&ms, but, she only fell for that one once! To this day if she orders a sandwich and they accidently put a pickle on her plate, she'll send it back. Even if they take it off. Nope, new plate please!

Not so fast, Jazzie! Don't rush us! We've got until April 19 before we have to ditch the cookies, cakes, pies, breads, pasta, rice, corn, peas, etc. Then it's a week without that yummy stuff—and I hate to tell you what that does to your digestive system.

In all fairness to Valerie, most of the viewers in a poll taken on the Bravo Top Chef website felt that Nikki and her mushroom turds should have been the one sent home. That was also the feeling among the chefs themselves. In a recent interview by Grubstreet, Valerie was a bit upset with Antonia for selecting Stephanie over her because Antonia had not even tasted Valerie's Blinis. Antonia's choice was personal, not about the food. The ironic thing about the blinis was that the recipe was Antonia's. I think Valerie was unfairly eliminated or "thrown under the bus" so to speak.

Thanks John for pointing that out. Which them brings me to our oh so wise head judge's drama drenched question to Antonia. How could he ask her who she would of picked with out first asking her if she tasted the friggin food?
Sorry Tom but you look really stupid after this episode, ripping one entire team for not tasting the food and then asking someone a "who should stay question" without finding out if she had tasted the food in the first place.

I've known people who do the "no touching" thing. It makes things difficult, but my Great Grandmother used to say, "Honey, it all ends up in the same place", so that solved that for a lot of the kids.

I knew a guy who wouldn't eat anything he viewed as "mushy". He ate no shrimp. or lobster, or watermelon, or, really, any kind of melon. When he came to dinner it was a freaking nightmare.

What the heck did Antonia make for the zoo challenge? I thought I heard there was lamb in her dish---if so she should have been called on it along with Steph. Sorry with so many chefs it's hard for me to keep track of who did what.

Not read any of the post yet so I may repeat, sorry.

Great episode. How many times did we say this during season 3? Um,none.

Spike,I thought you were a goner. I fell for Bravos clever editing. Bad brillke, bad.

Mark, yay,my Kiwi won a QF. His little trick shot at the pool table was too cute. I hope he goes far, maybe even to the final 3,but its too early to pick yet.

Andrew,I knew you were edited with all that bleeping. I mean,Bravo could have easily used different footage but they knew how a few would react. Ya done good, wtg on your win. Im starting to become a big Andrew fan.

Miguel, what a gentleman. His comments regarding Mark being on his team with immunity just goes to show what a nice guy he must be. Too bad Bravo will never let him stay. Hes got a week or two left before hes booted.

Stephanie,still a big fan.

Valerie, bummer but it was your time.

Antonia,Im not upset you chose Stephanie over Valerie when asked who you would choose to hire. You were put on the spot and no matter who you picked, someone was going to be upset.

Dale,weiner.

Nikki, why on earth did you still serve the judges your mushrooms? Man,I hope you go soon.

Richard, you brought all those tools with you? Did that count toward your $200 budget or were the chefs allowed to bring something other then their knives?

Zoi,Jennifer,Erik,Lisa you all did well but got very little face time.

Was glad to see the zoo get publicity. Zoos always need funds and TC fans will flock there so its a win-win situation.

Was nice seeine Wylie Dufresne as a judge. I see Rick Bayless will be a judge next week. Im always amazed at the quality of judges they are able to get. Well, most times. That douche-bag from the cart challenge in season 1 and restaurant wars in season 2 and the drink-ologist with the shakes in season 2 are the exceptions.TC has scored some serious heavy hitters from the culinary world.

I want my Ted Allen!

These people always say they watch the show, but they obviously never learn from them! Besides the shroom problem last season, Andrea in Season 1 lost with her potato pancake latkes as well, and it was made fresh! How did they think those things would survive such an early preparation? Basic common sense seems to be lacking; big time!!

Good point Jay. Youd think they would watch the show to at least get a feel for what they could be in for, wouldnt you?

I know I am going to get hammered in the process, but I take exception to Bravo putting a lesbian couple in the mix.

There is NO WAY IN HELL that BOTH of these ladies would have been selected independently. It has to be a setup---in which case I have lost respect for the show as its objectivity is suspect.

The producers can pick who they want and I don't have to watch, but it is incredibly suspect that the couple got picked.

Add to this: 1) They ANNOUNCE they are a couple in the first FIVE MINUTES--even before all the introductions are out of the way?! WHO CARES!! THIS FACT HAS NOTHING to do with COOKING!! It's one more attempt by Bravo and San Francisco Gays to mainstream their relationships and lifestyle.

2) THREE of the group are from San Francisco? What are the odds?

3) They kick the only Muslim off the show in the first episode. Granted she was a dud and not very social, but she had to be one of the first Muslims on the show and gone like that!

TAKING ALL TOGETHER---and I realize that Bravo is a "gay" network---I am losing respect for a show I love....I wish they would stick to the cooking.

P.S. They don't NEED to have a gay on each season---sexual orientation/lifestyle choice should not be a criteria for selection.

The more piercings and tattoos you have should not be a criteria.

I don't need to hear Andrew say "F*&%" and "MF" every five minutes---now my son can't watch the show with me!!

I almost defended this post but I kept reading. Sigh.

Just gonna comment on all your dreams about Bravo and their reality shows having any sort of objectivity. Its hard,I know, but we all had to accept the fact that the "reality" in these shows are not very real. Many of us came to that conclusion during episode 1 of TC1 2-part season finale.

As for three chefs coming from SF,thats no biggie. Theyve gotten multiple chefs from one city before. Whats more suspect how many cities have yet to have a chef represent them.

Well I don't see what the fuss is about, having a couple chosen. One, it's just BRAVO, and BRAVO reaches for drama, into places it often shouldn't reach. But what possible difference is it going to make to the competition itself?

And besides... they're not the first couple to compete together. Hung and his Monkey competed together as a couple last season. As did Brian Malarkey and his Multiple Personalities. Throughout Season One, Stephen was there coupled with his Inner Sommelier, with whom we know he had a sexual thing going on...

Maybe Bravo had Zoi and Jennifer on as a couple because it was something they hadnt had on before. Like faux-hawks and gastro whatevers before them, they are a novelty. Well we see how the novelty of faux-hawks and gastro whatevers faded,eh? OMG,its gonna be lesbians everywhere after this!

I can believe Bravo chose both chefs based on skill and once they were found to be a couple,it was thumbs up all around the production meeting during chef selections.

BTW,very funny post Simon. Oh,and I hope I didnt offend anyone when I used Zoi and Jennifer with the combination of novelty. Im not trying to imply that is what their relationship is at all

I used to sit and eat brown sugar by the spoonful. I sprinkled it on ice cream too. Then again, I also used to spoon out tang into milk, and drink milk and pepsi out the wazoo. Toast and/or Wonder bread (it's a wonder they call it bread) was my favorite food palette when I was a kid--slathered it with butter and sugar, added cinnamon, broiled it with brown sugar when I wanted "sweet," or cheese when I wanted "savory"--when I was sick, only buttered toast drenched in hot milk would do, and then there was the ever popular "banana sandwich," consisting of bread slathered in mayo, topped with banana slices and sprinkled with walnuts and brown sugar--I even sometimes sprinkled bacon on it.

There was also the "go-to" toasted peanut butter and bacon sandwich, as well as fried bologna. Good grief, looking back, I can't believe I actually thrived on some of that stuff!

I agree. In a perfect world, contestants should be chosen for their perceived ability to cook, and for nothing more. It should have nothing to do with where they live, the color of their skin, what belief system they subscribe to, their sexual orientation, their age, sex or socioeconomic status, or any other conventional "label" we try to slap on to make us feel better about our choices.
