I wonder how long it will take before one of them lets loose the F-bomb in front of one or more of the kids.

I know that I've grown quite creative around my own children. I can't imagine what some of them will come up with if they think to change their language in front of the kidlets. laugh.gif

I am not able to predict who will win. They are all excellent chefs! What i think it boils down to is... who will be the one who makes the slightest error? That is of course, unless someone else decides to make brocollini!

I would like to see some new challenges... for example

A. The judges and the contestants go head to head on same dish. It is plated by an independent party and then the judges have to taste the two and pick the best.. and if it is the contestant, they cannot be eliminated for that episode.

B. All contestants have say.. the same 3 or 4 ingredients and have to work with that.

C. quick fire contest on garnishing

D. Contestants have to make something using boxed cereal

E. Making some type of meal with vennison

F. Polish sausage/Kielbasa cook off! LOL

G. Making something new from left-overs

H. A new spin on hamburger/tuna helper.. needing to use these ingredients in their dish.

I. Have to make something out of potatoes

I would also like to learn something from each show.. I love seeing them cook.. but how about showing something like.. what types of knives are available and what type is best for say.. deboning chicken, removing skin off of a filet of fish. What is a ricer or mandolin slicer and how do you use it. what type of cookware works best for what types of dishes etc. i would think this is something that could be funded by sponsors of the show to highlite their products. I think that for some of the things the chefs are preparing, it could lend to an increased appreciation of their talent.

Could the show come up with a score card for audience use for when we go to restaurants.?? How should we be rating the food? Wine list guide? What types of seasonings go best with what main ingredients? Just some thoughts!

I love the show! I think I have seen every episode!!! Keep it up!

What I would like to see as a challenge is for them to cook medieaval meals. There are plenty of website that have reciepes. I used a few. They attend a Renaissance Faire and cook for the cast including the Queen. Those who are in the battle pagent ask the Women Cooks for a favor prior to battle. I have been told there is in the State of Washington a guy who runs a Medieaval Inn, even heards his own sheep and all..

The only problem with Ren Faire food is that's it's rarely authentic, since it usually includes turkey legs (New World bird), ice cream (not yet invented), and corn and potatoes (New World crops).

Also, to be correct, meats should be spiced to the point of hiding the flavor, as spices were used to "restore" meat that had gone bad (no knowledge of microbiology back then)—which is why the spice trade from the East was so lucrative.

The Ren Fest in TX ONLY uses authentic foods. Sure, you can grab a turkey leg if you WANT to, but during the actual feast, you're only served what was served during those times.

Kvetching is Yiddish word for whining, complaining, expressions of self-pity, and any other loudly and publicly expressed misery. The mug in the picture really exists, and I have one. rolleyes.gif

Jew, Germans, and Eastern Europeans have no problem pronouncing the "kv" consonant blend; however, others seem to need to put a vowel between the k and the v. Don't know whether it's cultural or genetic, though. Nature versus nurture?

We're feeling the same way especially about this season. But I think, like with a lot of tv these days, it must bring in high ratings, the demographic they want? They even use it in the previews of next weeks' shows. It may be a lot about what's left in after the editing, but some of the language is pretty playground and it gets old.
