Second. Worst. Episode. Ever.

I am HORRIFIED at this elimination. Dale made two dishes, one of which was awful and one of which was great. Lisa made two awful dishes.

And Dale goes home?!

To top it off, I think Lisa's been worse to work with than Dale throughout the show, but honestly, that's not what should count one way or the other. It's the food, and Dale's Halo-Halo got raves.

What an awful episode, in every way.

Does anyone wonder if it would have mattered if they brought Jen in during elimination to get her assessment being she did work on the team as well and saw what was going on?

When Spike was seating his guests he was telling them he thought his team would win. At the end of service Spike is asking his guests "What did you say about me?" while Richard and Antonia were asking their guests if they enjoyed the meal!!!

The more I think about Dale's performance and elimination, and all the Dale-Love Lisa-Hate messages, the more I want to draw a comparison. Either scroll past, or read, as you wish.

I have subordinates working under my direction, but then also peers and colleagues who sometimes become my subordinates on a specific project.

Not so dissimilar to Dale's situation.

If those folks I'm trying to lead believe that I despise them, refer to them as garbage, think they are no-talent hacks, I stand no real chance of getting them motivated or getting good work out of them. If they sense that I believe having to work with them dooms both me and the project, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy. And Doom Follows.

Dale made no effort to disguise his contempt for his colleagues, and it didn't start just with Restaurant Wars. He was loudly expressing his contempt for Lisa a while back, and ironically now, condemning her for her negativity. Dale. Accusing someone else of being negative. He wasn't showing any regard for Spike, either.

I'm not suggesting that he should have been clueless, and not seen the limitations Lisa and Spike bring to a team.

But he gained nothing by letting them or us or anyone know he had such contempt for them.

He's still doing it even now, as clear from the NYMag interview.

I don't know what employment or professional setting anyone reading this works in, but ask yourself: Are you able to effectively lead colleagues or subordinates to whom you've been showing contempt? Shown that you hate them, think ill of their abilities or contributions, and think you're all going to fail because they cannot possibly succeed?

If your own supervisor behaves that way toward you and colleagues, do you all knock yourselves out and focus and go the extra mile to succeed as a team?

So that's it. Dale with the same talent and better judgment about working with people - a sure winner.

*HE* DID buy the rice. Watch the episode again. I don't care for Lisa and won't defend her but I will defend untruths and this has already been established that he picked the rice. It was up to her to say whether or not the dish could be done with this type of rice and he shouldn't have pulled it off the stove either; to which he replied ''okay'' when she told him to relx and stop pulling things off the stove.

Compared to Lisa and Spike, Dale is obviously the better chef based on the number of challenges he has won. It seems that everytime Dale loses, either Lisa or Spike or both is with him on the team. Of course, the panel never realized that because the only judge who could have realized that is Tom who wasn't there. Padma strikes me as a spineless person. So if Tom had been there, maybe he would have defended Dale; but it's all conjecture. Which makes me wonder why the series regulars do not commit to appearing in all episodes. Paula Abdul may be a zoned out on Idol from time to time but at least she's never missed an episode.

In my original post the "excuse" Lisa used of "he bought the rice" was merely an example (one of many she used this episode, not to mention the legion she used the episode before!). My point was, that she has consistently demonstrated lousy cooking skills (with the possible exception of some bacon!) and always blames the lousy outcome on someone other than herself. ("Stand up for your dish!" As Antonia says!)

In the "he bought the rice" example, if it was Her dish, why didn't she pick out the rice? And if he picked out the wrong rice, why didn't she put it back and pick out the right rice? With the disaster relating to rice she had the week before, why did she agree to do a rice dish in the first place? If she was the one doing the rice dish, why did she not keep an eye on the rice while it was cooking? etc. There are a thousand ways that she, being responsible for that dish, should have taken responsibility for it instead of using excuses at the judges table to throw a team mate under the bus to excuse her lousy dish!

Hypothetically: If the rice dish had been the best dish of the night, do you honestly think she would have told the Judges that Dale had "bought the rice"?!

If Dale made the potstickers then sending him home is even more outrageous.

I agree if Tom had been there, I think Dale might still be there. I keep saying it, and here it comes again: Lisa CANNOT even cook RICE, no matter who selected it. She does not belong in the final four! Next week needs be her last.

They say past challenges do not play role, and this episode backed that theory up. BUt Tom seems to keep score better and I believe he would have called Lisa out.

I swear, out of all of the remaining, I cannot point to or fully remember anything about Spike or Antonia. I don't have the "need to take a boric acid shower" after Antonia, but I can't pinpoint anything that stands out to me about either one of them.

Antonia's one exception to my memory, was the Kidlet Challenge "Common Threads". I remember her cooking like a Mom, like me. That's it.

I couldn't name a challenge, a dish, a QF, an anything involving Spike, except he made dismal "spring rolls" in which Manuel got the boot.

I admit, I have a craptacular memory, but one would think something wonderful would stand out. No?

I can remember back enough to know Steph made abysmal crab-gorilla salad, but redeemed herself with banana bread and caramel sauce. I still have no idea what Spike made then. Or the other night. Oh, right. He braised short ribs. No, he didn't. He "gave Dale the recipe" by his own admission. But to his credit, he did hang Buddas!

This has been another season of *Chefs Behaving Badly* but this time we got the added bonus of some of the most craptastic food ever on Top Chef. Way too many catering challenges---too much cooking food, moving food, reheating/holding food. I want to see challenges that give these people a chance to shine. I want a judges table where they have a hard time choosing the 3 WORST dishes. I liked Seasons 1 and 3 where they had 4 strong finalists. On season 2 I only really liked Sam in the final four. I don't think Spike or Lisa should be in the final 4. Bring back Mikey or Miguel, how about Erik or Clay maybe even Howie and Joey.

Still will never believe this is the strongest group ever!
