You guys should reconsider voting Dale out. He can cook. If you look back through all your competitions, you all were never happy with anything that Lisa cooked. Isnt this supposed to be a competition to determine who can cook?? Big mistake.

I was pretty pissed last week, mostly cause I really don't think that Lisa can cook well. Ted's blog is pretty good though. I think that he's pretty right on. What have you done for me lately. I think we missed out trying Dale's dish. It seems pretty universal that the dish was pretty awful. I'm not a huge fan of the idea, but who knows. I really wish Dale was still on, but I think that the point is long past now.

Hi, Blank. With this group, no point is ever long past tongue.gif
HajarCooks
So Spikey wins the quickfire and Lisa is in the top 3 of it. Some folks are not going to be happy. Let's see how they do in the restaurant now.

Ooops, sorry, meant long past for the judges to reconsider. I think its been a few months since their actual work has ended? If not, then they totally should! A Top Chef appeals board would be hysterical

With WAJ, Tele, Simon, Jim?!? IronChef would be great if she's available.

I know I'm coming in on this late, since I just now watched the 11th episode, and I'm sure the topic's been beaten to death. But can someone PLEASE explain the reasoning behind Dale being eliminated and not that old fist face bulls****er Lisa? Do they take any of the rest of the competition into consideration? Why are we having a contest that narrows down? Why don't they just have a show with different cooks every week and make that the show? Because that's what this show was. Not only that, but Padma said it herself: Lisa screwed up both of her dishes. BOTH!!! The 2 WORST dishes belonged to who??? Madame Fist Face herself. So please, can someone summarize their deduction of how this woman is still in the competition? Dale won many more challenges, was on the chopping block less, and made better food in that challenge.... I'm done. I'll watch the rest of this season because I'm invested in it and I like seeing the food, but this show is bananas. It's a bunch of crap and I think I'm done.

I don't agree with portions of Ted's blog. His "we tasted the food" and "what have you cooked for us lately" lines make no sense if Dale cooked 3 dishes they really liked and 1 they didn't. Lisa made 2 they didn't. So it doesn't mesh to me.

Part of me feels Dale got screwed, but another part feels he's probably better off because I feel there will be a female winner no matter what. Every show seems to want a female this year. Top Chef is no different.

I think though Lisa screwed up her dishes, the main responsibility did fall on the exec chef. If dale's dish hadn't been such a disaster, according to Ted's blog and Wong's blog, I don't think he would have, but he failed his own dish and let Lisa screw up the rest of the meal and wouldn't take any responsibility for it.
Silvernightscape
On oe of the blogs someone mentioned that they should do a fan vote to bring back a chef who was kicked off that we want back to be in the finale with the rest of the chefs. I wonder how that would go lol.

I just think its crap that they aren't looking at people's track records throughout the whole competition, and its not the first season they've done that. What's the point of having all these chefs if everything is going to boil down to one challenge?
notlisanotilan
Just wanted to add my voice to saying Dale should not have been sent off last week -- it was a travesty. Especially since he's far superior to both Lisa and Spike, both of whom should have been sent home long before. (I thought it was interesting that Lisa tried to call Andrew out for not following the Police Lunch challenge when she and Antonia didn't follow the Improv challenge at all -- err, we don't like the ingredients assigned to us so we're just going to cook something we know how to cook) Dale was really talented and didn't remain on the show by talking his way out of being sent home (by blaming people for everything) -- which is what Spike and Lisa do. Sorry to ramble on...

Anyway, I can't bear to watch tonight. If I can't stay away, it's nice to know I'm not alone in feeling this way. Thank you.

I'm thinking its Lisa, if her peanut butter potatoes are what they sound like, she might do well, if not, then I'm scared.

Is it normal for steaks to be cooked in the oven after browning? And I'm surprised they make all the steaks ahead, like Antonia just did. I learn something every day.

Yes River it is what a restaurant usually does to finish steaks and any meat. It is always better when it is browned on the stove and finished in the oven.

They really liked Lisa's potatoes as well. Peanut butter is a very successful ingredient in many dishes if spiced correctly.
WhataJoke
Lisa missed her calling, she should work for Halmark.
