For all of you BSG fans who have been (like me) crying in your pillow over the end of the series....
http://scifi.about.com/b/2008/07/07/aaron-...-movie.htm?nl=1

I know most of the cast have moved onto other shows....
Tricia Helfer (the sixes/Caprica/Gina) has joined the cast of Burn Notice.

Grace Park (the eights/Sharon/Boomer) has joined the cast of The Cleaner.

Tahmoh Penhikett (Karl 'Helo' Agathon) has joined the cast of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse.

Kandyse McClure (Anastasia Dualla) has joined the cast of Reaper.

And most of the cast are currently doing movies...
Edward James Almos (Admiral Adama) is doing 'Beverly Hills Chihuahua'.
Mary McDonnell (President Laura Roslin) is doing a film called 'Jimmy Nolen'.
Michael Trucco (Samuel Anders) is doing a film called 'Man of your Dreams' - (how appropriate!).
Alessandro Juliani (Lt. Felix Gaeta) is doing a film called 'Traveling' (with Aaron Eckhart & Jennifer Aniston).
Aaron Douglas (Chief Galen Tyrol) is doing 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' ( a remake of the classic- starring.... Keanu Reeves!?!?!).
Jamie Bamber (Lee 'Apollo' Adama) is doing Pulse 2 & Steel Town (sounds like someone needs a new agent....'just sayin' is all').

So I thought the show was done, done, done.... but it looks like the Resurrection Ship may still be operative.... wub.gif

Just a note. I have not left. Something utterly horrible has happened though all I am willing to say about it is that nobody has passed away. I just cannot discuss it........far too emotional. My husband and I are still together and I am stuck here, still. A nearly empty apartment and all that I have left sitting in the living room still. Two huge black suitcases stand empty in the corners like watch towers of quiet, solitude, aloneness.

Thanks,

Hajar

Listen carefully to advertising, presidential speeches and really read your local newspaper ... it's pretty appalling. When public schools started to use group lessons over rote and individual course work, I think the bad writing was on the wall.

POOR PROFESSIONAL CHOICES

My favorite radio station here in Cleveland airs a locally produced comedy show on Saturday nights that it also franchises to an impressive number of stations across the country. A regular feature is the weekly "Funny Faux Pas in the Media" segment featuring submissions from alert American listeners, watchers and readers from coast to coast and even worldwide who listen to the mother station via the internet.
Some of suggestions are worth a belly laugh or two and others cause one to shake one's head in disbelief at the poor grammar, faulty logic, or misuse of similar sounding words. Remember, they were all made by so-called communications professionals, not John and Mary Everyperson.
Prizes are awarded, naturally, and listener's names and hometowns are credited.

Hey Rod, one of these times you and I are going to be on the board at the same time so we can have a real conv. Ya need to get back to camping. I feel so healthy after a couple of weeks. Probably all those trips to the bathroom, bet I walk 10 miles a day laugh.gif Seriously after everything that happened in my life over the past 16 months, I needed to relearn to relax and this trip did it. Yellowstone is great, I know I'm sic, but I love the smell of those sulfer geysers. You just can't beat the scenary of the Tetons. Later I will try and download some pictures I took. It takes me a long time, I don't know why. So take care, and plan a camping trip. IT DOES A BODY GOOD! rolleyes.gif

I found this story on the internet. I am not a psychiatrist, but sometimes they have insight.. rolleyes.gif

Dr. Sanity
Shining a psychological spotlight on a few of the insanities of life

THAT WAY LIES MADNESS
Way back when I was just beginning to practice psychiatry, I had a young woman patient (17 years old) whose name was Chris. She was one of those extremely difficult patients who we suspected of having a Borderline personality disorder (BPD) (you really can't diagnose personality disorders before the age of 18 or so)--and if she didn't have BPD, she was well on her way to developing it. She used illegal drugs and claimed they "helped" her; she was impulsive and histrionic; she cut herself frequently; made suicide attempts regularly; and was so desperate for attention and love that she would lie, cheat, and do anything for to get it. She and I had a particularly difficult session one day; and that night I happened to be on call in the emergency room. I was awakened at 2:00 am by a call from a "friend" of Chris, who informed me that Chris's body had just been recovered from the ocean, where she had gone and killed herself because she was so angry at me.

I was devastated. I remember sobbing for some time after I hung up; overwhelmed with remorse and convinced that I had chosen the wrong career. Her death was all my fault and in my sorrow I considered leaving psychiatry, since I obviously was no good at it. I thought about what a sad, wasted life Chris had lived. If only I had paid more attention to her; listened more to her pain and not expected her to control her behavior. For three hours I was in a state of abject misery and hopelessness. I would have done ANYTHING to change the fact that she was dead.

At 6:00 am the page operator put through another call to me--from Chris.

"Oh, " she told me nonchalantly, "the body they found on the beach wasn't mine"; her "friend made a mistake"; "sorry about that" and "could I see you a day early next week?"

It was then I remembered that she had been angry at me because I was planning on going on vacation next week and had told only been able to schedule her for the week after.

It was amazing how quickly my remorse turned to anger. Not for a minute did I believe that this had all been a tragic misunderstanding. No, I had been incredibly, unmistakably HAD. My emotions had been played as if they were a song composed by my patient on an instrument of her choosing. My clinical supervisor laughed (laughed!) when I told him the story, and pointed out to me that this is what it felt like to be well and truly manipulated by a pro.

And it almost worked. Hadn't I thought to myself that I would do anything to have prevented what I had thought happened?

Such behavior, he went on, was pretty typical of the Borderline patient--so, why was I shocked at what had been done to me?

Indeed. Certain behaviors are predictable, though normal people can have a hard time wrapping their minds around the whys and wherefores. The "root cause" was not my going on vacation (if you go down that route, you might as well say that the root cause was my very existence as a separate person from Chris).

It's been years, but yes, we have been to both. Sebago Lake is more a family environment with many water pumps and nice facilities and the lake is still so clear you can see your toes and not a few minnows while standing waist deep in the water.. The drawback is lack of privacy and noisy neighbors at the crowded campsites.

Acadia has great hiking along the cliffs and a more authentic camping experience. But ugh! Pit toilets..
HajarRocks
Sebago Lake is still just as clear. Unfortunately the shoreline is gone in many places due to erosion. When I was a child the beaches were expansive and now in places there is barely sand to walk on. I haven't been up there since about 1997. sad.gif
