Don't feel bad- I did the same thing. I didn't mean to...it's silly to get so worked up over a TV show, but that swimsuit was the epitomy of glamour. So gorgeous!

Wasn't it! When he said "Esther Williams" I said "YES!...you've got it!" THAT'S where he showed what he could do! It was vintage and it was gorgeous!

Austin did a fantastic job his design today was just fabulous. Jay’s was also really good…

I sense a pattern in the eliminations, and I am willing to predict the next people eliminated.

The pattern has to do with the Project Runway bars at the top of the page. There are 5 random bars, where 4 contain images of 3 contestants and Heidi with that ugly hairdo. The groups are:

Group 1: Daniel, Vanessa, Kevin
Group 2: Mario, Nora, Jay
Group 3: Kara, Alexandra, Starr
Group 4: Robert, Wendy, Austin

The first contestant eliminated was Daniel in Group 1. Next was Mario in Group 2. Next was Starr in Group 3. Then it was Vanessa in Group 1, followed by Nora in Group 2 and Alexandra in Group 3. This leaves one contestant in each of the first 3 groups (in linear fashion as well), and all 3 contestants in Group 4.

As I see it, there are three predictions I can make at this point:

Prediction 1: Kevin goes next week, followed by Jay (NOOOOOO!) and Kara (nooo!). The Final Three at Fashion Week are Austin (yes!), Wendy (YAY!), and Robert (blah!)

Prediction 2: The pattern is topsy-turvied and the next 3 eliminateds are all the Group 4'ers. This means Kara, Jay, and Kevin are the Final 3, which does make more sense to me.

Prediction 3: It's all just a crazy coincidence, and the next eliminations have nothing to do with the pattern.

Also, is it wrong to be a straight, fashion-challenged, math-major frat boy and still watch this show? I hope not.

Kevin's got this passive-aggressive thing going on with women - Nora one week, Morgan this week (not that she didn't have it coming). But he seems to relish tortmenting them - and I think it's reflected in his designs, which to me are a little trashy. I think he likes to make women look cheap.
FashionBoy1975
Maybe that Soviet shirt he wears is telling us something. Hmmmmm....
FashionBoy1975
Austin's creations are gorgeous. He has a style all his own and he uses it to the max. His vintage style is classic and kick-ass and sexy. That swimsuit he made was awesome and Melissa looked so good in it. Her look was made for that swimsuit. I think Jay is envious of Austin's work, even though he tries to hide it and put on that "angry-at-the-world" front.
fashionizza
Once again, Austin has proved to be a talented, albeit campy, costume designer, but far from a fashion desinger. As for his game plan of having a 16-year-old model [expletive deleted] herself around an industry party, "whatever it takes" is no excuse. Sweet Austin, there are chances to sell your soul a hundred times a day in this business, but doing so will make you unable to attain that long-lasting quality: character.

Wendy was surprising: her piece was really quite nice - bright, fun, and feminine. If she had just finished a proper bottom, it could have been a good outfit for her.

Kara Saun's piece was elegant, groovy, and just lovely. I'm surprised it wasn't in the top of the list.

Kevin's suit just didn't make much sense, nor did his choice of Modelzilla, nor his lack of confidence. Where's Kevin??

And for Robert, I can handle the women-as-sportscars comment, but I can't handle a suit that sags in the cleavage area! Poor fitting and execution. (But he is just so nice!)

Jay's suit was hardcore and fierce and wonderful. He also (surprisingly?) handled himself at the party quite well - he was just fun and real and Jay.

And Alexandra - well, she had a good run, and I am sure she will get a great job somewhere.
LibraAngel1
Well, Alexandra seems like a really sweet lady, but I have never really been that impressed by any of her designs. Her bathing suit for this challenge was actually cute, but waaaaaay to small. Also she shot herself in the foot like Vanessa did by making her weakness so obvious (Vanessa claiming that she isn't that good at sewing & Alexandra letting it be known that she leans to much on other more famous designers for her inspiration).

I actually liked Kevin's design for the most part (the skirt should have been different though..imo), though at a glance it of course looks nothing like a bathing suit.

Wendy's dress...oops I mean 'bathing suit' wasn't horrible, but it definitely wasn't very good, especially not for this challenge. It's probably a good thing that Martinique used her own thong, because I shudder to imagine what Wendy's bathing suit bottom would've looked like on her.

I like Robert and his design was cute yet ill-fitting. But he should've opted for a pleated type of skirt as oppose to just having Olga come out in just a regular bathing suit cover-up.

I really liked Austin's design & felt that he deserved to win this particular challenge. Melissa was really out there..especially for someone her age. The guy from the Post was...ick!! Austin & Melissa were really 'working it' (<--not to be seen as a compliment).

I didn't care for Jay's design. It may seem Gucci to the judges & whatnot but S&M is still what I pictured. Yet it is something that can double as a going out club outfit for 'some'.

Kara's design was cute but a little too safe (that can be seen as a good or bad thing). I did love the cover-up and along with the bathing suit top & some jeans it really is wearable.
Ithinkusmellyuck
OMG I loved your predictions I had noticed something there too and about the college frat boy math major thing I'm an ex-tom-boy from texas who barely learned that shoes match purse and well i'm a biology major so i'm kinda in your shoes and I love the show but for me its more about the fun and the sarcasm and laughter but for you i'm sure its about the models but even if your not into fashion the show really is funny and great and well Jay is the greatest and I know that the show won't be as amazing as it is now without him in-fact i was sad to see nora go because she was one of the last wild/punks left but hey who is your favorite designer and what do you think of morganza/party-monster/modelzilla/morgan

P.S. Did anyone notice that Austin borrowed and wore Wendy's electric blue eye shadow during the runway competition in tonight's bathing suit episode? Let's have a vote of who looks better with that blue eye shadow ? Austin, Wendy

Lmao..Austin by a mile.
iowahousewife
I was so happy to see Austin win this week! I love that man!! Jay was so fabulous, too. He is absolutely hysterical! I loved the clip of "Morganza" leaning on him after she showed him the ripped outfit and he is mouthing "Help Me" to the camera. I will be so happy to have another week to look at Robert and Kevin. I think we are down to a great group of designers, but I have been taking note of the disclaimer at the end of the show. (You know the one that says that the producers have a say in the final judging, etc...) I think that says more about why Alexandria was cut tonight. It is design, but it is also still a TV show. Call me crazy, but my background is in television, not design - so I see the influence of a good show and a strong character all over the final results. That's how Starr made it three episodes. (We were all begging for her to go.) And like it or not, Wendy will be in for another episode. I will secretly love hearing and seeing her cry! At first she played the "Mom" card, but nobody's buying her phony kind crap now! Just please, please, please.... someone send that woman to the Loreal hair and makeup room before she goes home!! (Even Great Clips could do a better dye job... or let Austin do her hair - he could definately transform that old hag!)

Can't wait for next week - my guess is Robert is next to go. Just a guess... This is my favorite night of the week!! (Ya - you're right - what the hell else do I have to do in Iowa! HA) I cannot believe that my mid-30's, flannel wearing, fly fishing, physician husband is even addicted to the drama in this show now! I LOVE IT!! I am going to have withdrawals when it is all over!

Dear mister Fashion Boy!
The only thing it tells ME is that you're absolutely, lets put this softy not very smart person.
Your comment is so so so dumb and senseless therefore you better mind your words. Just curious what do you know personally about USSR.
Anyways,i am honored that you know what USSR symbol looks like.Tells me that fortunately USSR didnt exist in vain.

P.S. Austin's design was indeed awesome, i do think he is very talented, and i hope to see him at least in the final 3.Way to go Austin!!!!!!!!!!!!
Vladi
I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS !!!

Two of my girls gone...two episodes in a row!

I have to be honest though - I was not so crazy about Alex's swimsuit, but it did look decent comparing to some of the others. Definitely not one of the worst designs tonight. I think she held herself very well after she was eliminated. Goodbye Alex, and good luck to you, girl!

Ok..Austin's design - looked TOO SIMPLE to me. Austin himself - as usual ridiculous and over the top.

I was VERY disappointed with Robio's swimsuit. Looked like something his mom should be wearing.
His personality - still shines (not so crazy about the women-car thing though).

Kevin's thing was interesting (for a change), but definitely did not look like a swimsuit.

I did not really care for Kara's and Jay's creations this time.

I never thought I would say that...but...the only outfit I really liked was Wendy's! Nice combination of colors, nice shape, and (no matter what judges said) it did not like more like a dress then a swimsuit.
aimeedear
Austin's been my favorite from the beginning. Kara's a close second, real class there, but Austin's got something the others don't: he makes women look pretty. Too many designers make women look trashy, or haggy, or S&M. I'm tired of boobs hanging out and navels as part of the neckline. Austin understands what makes a woman pretty, graceful, yummy, but not gross. He's got my vote. AND he's a gorgeous, unbelievably fun guy to watch, with enourmous personal flair. Not a child, or a gripe, or a manipulator. I'd buy his clothes any day, both because I like the clothes, and I like him. Give me a dress with an Austin Scarlett label! I'll pay good money for it!
Gherk
Well, I too am completely addicted. I root for Jay all the way, but I'm biased as he's very special to me personally. He continues to surprise me not only with his wit but his design capabilities, and he always finds his way, even when he's stuck. I'm so happy to see him on television - and he's totally himself, which is endlessly entertaining. He better win!!! He deserves it. His collections have always been so incredible and so original.

As far as the episode over all, I found the party to be . . . oozing with some dark liquid that is the world of trendy pretty people. Was it helped by seeing Melissa's ass all over the place? Her and Austin certainly make a good team, if you want that sort of image. I think it's sad that once again sex wins over all. Wonder how they would have played it if the columnist were a woman? I do like Austin quite a bit, and I thought his design was great, but I really think Jay should have won this! His design was hot, nightlife, sleek, totally swimmable. What would happen to that blue sheer stuff once Melissa was drenched with the sweet liquids of the evening? I bet the columnist would have liked to find out . . .

He was icky.

Robert's suit?? Totally gross.
Kevin's was intelligent, different - but if Morgan had asked me if I was angry, the answer would definitely have been YES!!!! I think the girl has some serious issues. Poor thing.
Kara Saun - I liked the first top better, the other was too typical.
Wendy's was very pretty, but I thought for sure she'd be out, because of the simple fact that it wasn't a bathing suit.
Alexandra - I didn't think she would be out, but I think the assessment was accurate. I thought her wedding gown was too conservative and too much like her Banana dress.

Love you Jay, you rock; can't wait to see you in the final three!!!!
friggetyfiona
I have to agree with you! I think that I will definitely be having withdrawls from this show once it is over and will anxiously be waiting its return.

I was really shocked to see Alex go tonight. Paying attention to the coverage of the rest of the group I thought they were going to wait until the end to bring her to light. I just really liked her designs. I also thought that Robert has been on the brink of leaving for a while now and I think his automobile swimsuit should have been in the fashion cemetary.

Jay's suit was really cool and I think that he will do well. He's always saying "I'm out of this competition each week" only to come back and be fabulous as ever. I want that Chrysler building dress SO BAD!!!

Austin has some kick @ss designs. The boy is the freakiest thing I've ever seen, what with those eyes. However, I really enjoy seeing his creations come to life. I would love for the classic looks to come back. I just worry that he is far too sensitive for harsh criticism and unfortunately that is something he's going to have to come across. He should learn to build from the statements rather than dismiss them. This comment in regards to the rock and roll project and Wendy's assessment of him not being a great leader.

Speaking of Wendy...will someone please show her the door? Jeez, the ladies hair looks like a skunk. I know that she is insecure about her look but you are a designer! You need to show some taste when applying your makeup and choosing your haircolor. Kara tried to help her in an earlier episode and I think it worked but this woman I feel is hopeless. Her designs are somewhat appealing at times but I don't think she is up on the knowledge of modern fashions which works against her.

Kara I think is going to be the winner. She has won immunity for a couple of episodes and I think it will be between herself and Austin. She knows the business end of being a designer, plus makes wonderful arrangements.

This post is way too long and my apologies for that. No one will probably read it anyway.

Robert pack your bags. Kevin, you're smart, so use your brain and don't pick Morganza. Wendy, you have a sob story but no one is crying when you go. Jay, keep the bitches in line. Austin, relax and realize that Project Runway isn't the end of the world. Kara, keep it up because your designs are rocking.
Tejayes
Well, I'm in the show more for the immense quality of the show, especially compared to High School Reunion 3, which I recap for www.realitynewsonline.com. But yeah, the models help! 8-P. Nora and Alexandra were fine, too. And I can't believe Kara's 37! She's SOOOOO hot for 37!

As for Morganzola, I don't know what to think. On the one hand, she's fun, hot, and Iowan (as am I). On the other hand, she's fudge 'n nuts! Why are all the Iowan reality people (Morgan, Rory and Twila from Survivor: Vanuatu) crazy? Is it the corn? The pigs? The fact that no one know where the bloody stools Iowa IS?!
mtngem
Hell ya Amiee dear thats exactly how I feel. I feel like these designers are just designing for themselves and they forget thier audiance.

I saw a lot of crap last couple of years that was in the thift store like 5 years ago. And thats where it will end up in a year.

Thank you for Austin, we need him. No everyone is into extreme
FashionBoy1975

No Wendy needs to be off the show. Tonight Alex is "out" as that boring
Host words it. Alex is out because she was influence by a few designers
and used some of their ideas. BUT that Wendy did the same thing and
WON the freak'n Banana Repu for it! something is "a miss" on this show.
Wendy should have BEEN gone she can not design, sew perhaps but she is not a designer. Wendy and Robert are skating on their teeth.
Ellibugg
It's obvious that there are only three designers that really have geniune talent and repeatedly produce great designs. My thoughts on the final three are:

Austin (even though his wedding dress was hideous)
Jay (LOVED his BR dress--I'd buy it!!)
Kara

The other's will be eliminated in this order:
Kevin -- His work just isn't that good, which makes me laugh since he's the one that's always saying other people aren't talented.
Robert -- He's pretty creative, but the results aren't really attractive (and I'm going to throw up if I hear one more sports car metaphor)
Wendy -- Her work is not very professional. I thought she'd get cut this week for admitting she didn't create a useable bikini bottom. I think they're only keeping her around for drama and to help ratings with people in her age group. If she gets cut earlier I wouldn't complain.

Once it gets down to the final three it's going to become really difficult to judge. I think it will all depend on the challenges they choose b/c I'd be happy with any of those three as winners.

Anyone else surprised Alexandra got cut this week? I thought it should've been Kevin or Wendy.

Austin has talent, this is clear... some of the others as well, like Robert, Kara, Nora, and maybe Alexandra. The others need to get sent home, I will enjoy watching their anguished faces as they are told Auf Wiedersehen by Heidi..

Great show, best reality show out there, also like the Model spin on this, 2 reality shows in one..

WELL IF YOUR RIGHT, YOU MOST TO BE RIGHT, CAUSE, YOU WOULDNT KNOW, HOW MUCH I ENJOYED, WHEN THEY KICKED OUT, STARS. I MEAN, COME ON PEOPLE, SHE REALLY HAVE IT COMING. SINCE THE FIRST EPISODE, THAT CLOTHES, IT WERE SO SCARY, EVEN DENNIS RODMAN, WOULDNT DARE TO WEAR IT, NOT EVEN FOR HALLOWEEN.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE....AUSTIN!
I KNOW HE IS GOING TO MAKE TO THE FINALS, AM SURE OF THAT, NO WAY HE IS GOING TO BE ELIMINATED.

YOU KNOW, I GOT SOME FEELINGS TOWARDS ROB, BUT IF HE DOESNT, DO BETTER, WHAT CAN I SAY....AUF WIEDERSEHEN, OR WHATEVER, HEIDI IS SUPPOSED TO SAY AT THE END OF EVERY SHOW. AM NOT BEING UNFAITHFUL, JUST SAYING THE TRUTH, SO PLEASE ROBERT, FORGET ABOUT, THE "WOMAN ARE LIKE SPORTS CARS", THING , AND MAKE A DESIGN THAT IS WORTH, THE EFFORT.

OOPPS, SORRY DID I SAY THAT OUT LOUD.

AM SORRY ALEXANDRA, YOU REALLY DESERVED TO STAY, I DON'T KNOW WHY, THEY GET YOU OFF THE RUNWAY, YOU REALLY GOT IT GOING ON, WHAT HAPPENED TO THOSE JUDGES?

JAY IS LIKE MORE THE SECOND BEST I THINK, BUT WE'LL SEE.
WE STILL GOT MORE TIME. THERE'S MORE 3 EPISODES TO GO YET.
WHO KNOWS WHO WOULD WIN. JUST PROMISE TO YOURSELVES, THAT WHOEVER WINS, AND IF THAT IT WASNT YOUR FAVORITE, DON'T CURSE, AND MOST IMPORTANT, DON'T KILL YOURSELVES OR THE TV.

P.S.: PLEASE DONT' PICK MORGAN AGAIN, NONE OF YOU. AM SORRY GIRL, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, YOU ARE BEING A NAUGHTY GIRL.
Ziggy
WHY ALEXANDRA, WHY HER, SHE AT LEAST MADE A SWIMSUIT,

I am sorry Wendy did not make a swim suit. She made a top only. And I am getting sick of Robert, he isn't that good... If both are still on after next week, I will deeply be disappointed.

And anyone who picks Morgan she be kicked off for being stupid...

Leave Pailette alone. If you don't like what Pailette is saying, then contribute something intelligent yourself, don't just insult him/her because you have an issue with Austin getting called out when he sucks. Alot of us think Austin sucks. Hell, I thought he sucked tonight and he only won because of Lolita sticking her thing in [expletive deleted] Johnson's face. Jay should have won.

dam...I dig Tim. His takes are essential reading to this show. Comparing Morgan's antics to Courtney Love was classic. This guy is like a fashionista John Madden, major kudo's to you, Tim.

the first couple of weeks, everyone was fawning over Robert...so cute...is he gay, blah blah blah...Now, at least we can see through the vaneer. he wears Manties...He tries to be a showboat(the scaffolding triple lutz)... He is to paraphrase another scribe, skating on his teeth! I would hate to think that the Producers would really keep someone around for drama value...ie Wendy. She is so replaceable and forgettable. Alex never got airtime and she was a doll. Kara and Jay rule. Austin is a mess. I can not think a business person would crumble as quick as he did in episode 6. "The mail is here Austin"...and he is in a pool of tears.
This is by far the best show on tellie. I'm glad it is our little gem...Sorry for the mis spellings

Fashion challenged? Then I'm in good company The best comliments I've gotten were over these past two days; sad because I only dressed like this (4 layers) to ward off the 20 below wind chill factors.

Math major, eh? GOOD! Your skills in that area are what helps you lay out your explanantions and the patterns you see so well. I completely respect that because as much as I take math, I can't stand it!

You've made great observations and I can only add my thoughts.

1. Jay - NOOOOOOOO!!! He's too good, there'd be rioting in the streets

2. Austin - not unless he does something FUBAR in the next 3 challenges (pray pray pray - come on baby!)

3. Kara - no way, way too good

Which means Robert, Wendy, and Kevin are next up for elimination and I think they'll do it in this order: Wendy, next challenge; Robert, second to last challenge; Kevin, last challenge (much to the dismay of the I-Want-to-Date-Kevin fan club - I'm getting my Kleenex ready)

So, I haven't read any of the posts, but was anyone else disturbed by last night's episode? First, Robert Johnson said he thought that Jay and Austin were the most interesting and were real characters which for me is just a veiled way of saying that they're big queens. Then, he makes some comment about Melissa's ass and picks Austin. Austin acted like a fool at that party. He looked like a parody of himself. He said some artists have their Venus (or did he invoke the name of Boticelli? I can't remember.) and that he has Melissa. Ugh! And once again, Jay got screwed. This is the fourth challenge he should have won (after Banana Republic, rock star, and wedding gown)and he goes back to the Atlas apartments empty handed. Ah, always a bridesmaid.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one in love with Austin. I really admire the fact that he is 100 percent Austin and not trying to be anyone else, plus his designs are stunning and glamorous.

Even though she's not my personal favourite (that's not to say I don't think she's not talented), I want Kara to win. I love Austin and Jay, and I think a mentorship with Banana Republic would just not suit them at all. Of all the designers on the show, they are the two with the most clearly established styles. Not only would Banana have their hands full with either of them, but it would stifle their personal creativity, which would just suck. For that reason, and becuase she's so professional, I'll be astounded if Kara doesn't win. And she will deserve it.

I agree with this assessment but wish it weren't so. I like Kevin's persona--he is so quiet and businesslike. Too bad his designs are not noteworthy. I wish Wendy would get off the poor me--I'm old, conservative, don't know a lot. Her swimsuit/dress was lovely on her model. But what's up with the oh, well she's wearing her own thong. Get with the program, Wendy if you really want to succeed.
Austin's swimsuit was deserving of top honors but his persona is too much for me! Sometimes I wonder who is the designer and who is the model. And I really didn't like the way he interacted with the reporter--but it sells.
Jay is the same at the other end of the spectrum. Who walks up to someone and says, "I'm Jesus." Puhleez! But it sells.
I pray Kara is the top winner--even tho' her swimsuit wasn't noteworthy, the coverup was lovely and her other designs have all been exceptional. She is truly an artist, worker-bee and focused to the art not herself.
Morgan--GO AWAY!!!!!

AuntieKrabby, I'm right there with ya! Who needs clothes when they're on a date with Kevin?! ;-) Oops, did I write that out loud?

Im with you on the win a date with Kevin Johnn. I love his designes, i think the reason all the models want to wear his clothes, is because they must feel sexy and strong in them. i think his work is beautiful! and i would feel beautiful taking his cloths off for him too. i think im just going to win this win a date with Kevin contest myself.

Your posts are annoying! Please add something intelligent to say to these boards. Your message board posts are repetitive and boring! You seem to have nothing better to do than criticize Austin's work. (Yes his wedding dress was hideous, as we all know) Find a new passion other than posting negative comments about reality TV contestantst.

Legoman, this board is packed with Austin fans. People here profess their love for him several times daily. Why, just yesterday someone wrote that Austin's BR dress "seems like it came down from Heaven" -- as if the dress were an angel and Austin himself, God. I would venture to guess that at least 65% of the posters here strongly favor Austin, with the remaining posters divided in their loyalties amongst the others.

Given the enormous level of suppport for the man, I am truly astonished that you find my and a few others' dissent so deeply offensive. I guess for some people, huge majorities thinking the same way they do is not enough. Anything less than total and complete groupthink is unacceptable. Repeat after me: AUSTIN IS GOD. HIS DESIGNS ARE ALWAYS THE BEST. YOU MUST NOT THINK OTHERWISE.

Blasphemy: I disagree.

Gherk-

Sorry I wasn't clear. That's not what I thought, that's the tone I felt Johnson had. I thought it was completely condescending and that he viewed them (Jay and Austin) as novelties rather than as serious designers. I felt that he responded to their flamboyance (or Austin's at least), that he was amused by it and, hence, them rather than their work. Something about it just bothered me and came across as veiled homophobia.

And my favorite... KEVIN. Enigmatic for sure. What is it about that guy? Damn, he's so strangely alluring. I'm absolutely smitten. Frankly, I don't think we see enough of him on screen. Maybe it's because he's so quiet, and quiet doesn't make for good television, but I've found myself watching old episodes over and over again just for a glimpse of him. If I can find a way to loop that shot of him rolling his eyes up to the camera while he's fervently working on a dress form, and commenting on whether a certain few others would be accepted into the Banana workroom, and then that devilish little smile that slowly eased onto his face... mmmmmman. Kevin, if you want a date with a California girl who's into fashion, come on out after you've set up your couture house and look me up!

I'm sure I've missed commenting on someone--but I'm too busy thinking about Kevin now to bother with anyone else. Geez, I haven't felt this way since Shaun Cassidy!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dang!! I couldn't have said it better myself!! Kevin is hot in an alluring way ....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah! I'm strangely happy that there are other fans of Kevin out there. (Romantic competition be damned!) Maybe we can form a fan club and coerce Bravo to make a make a "win a date with Kevin Johnn" show. And by the way, aren't his photos on this site fabulous?! I think I might print them out and wallpaper my bedroom ceiling with them. If you don't mind me showing so much enthusiasm so frankly.

So where is the casting for the Win a Date with Kevin show?
Im sure theres going to be a mad long line, for block.
Or im just going to hit-up www.emusestudio.com the website/company that shows his work, and contact him there. the contest is on! see you there.

OK, I thought Austin's design last night was one of the best. For those of you who think I hate him on principle: I really don't. When he designs something good, I am willing to admit it. I personally liked Jay's much, much better, but I can see that Austin's was well done. For once, he did something real and wearable, rather than something costumey.

I did find myself a little disturbed by the placement of Melissa's ass at the party. That guy looked like he wanted to bite it at one point, but he stopped and said something like, "Oh, I shouldn't do this on camera." I also felt that Austin acted like a complete idiot at the party -- his "Saturday Night Fever" dancing, his references to Botticelli (yes, he did compare himself to Botticelli.) So phony and pompous! He gave me a very robust laugh.

Quote:

Then, he makes some comment about Melissa's ass and picks Austin. Austin acted like a fool at that party. He looked like a parody of himself. He said some artists have their Venus (or did he invoke the name of Boticelli? I can't remember.) and that he has Melissa. Ugh! And once again, Jay got screwed. This is the fourth challenge he should have won (after Banana Republic, rock star, and wedding gown)and he goes back to the Atlas apartments empty handed. Ah, always a bridesmaid.

I respectfully disagree.
A mentorship would be a great opportunity for all three aspiring designers. All three have displayed the ability to create a strong Banana Republic style dress that also has their own personal statement. There is no reason to believe that any of the three wouldn't benefit from the experience, and Banana Republic could certainly use the infusion of high fashion energy into their often pedestrian designs. These are young designers who are still learning and able to adapt to the challenge as proven by their versatility to date. Jay is the most versatile and Kara is the least versatile and that seems more a drawback than a strong personal style.

Austin, honey, you sucked for a while, but I firmly declare our boy again! Way to bounce back! I'm glad to like him again and he deserved to win this challenge even if he and Melissa did "[expletive deleted] it out". And danm, were you a big gay with richard!

He still does have his jackass moments(Please Austin, will you let the thing with Wendy go!) Here's hoping he doesn't manage to f**k it up next week.

I liked Austin and Kara's suits best.

Jay is adorable. Plain and simple. Nearly died laughing when he mouthed "help me" while Morgan was sitting with him outside. Priceless. And dude, their sick s for trying to make us beleive that Jay had lost lost and was really trying to hurt Austin.

Disagreed about Kevin with the judges. Wendy's looked less like a bathing suit than his did. But he has got to learn to defend himself. "Um, I think, maybe, yeah I did didn't I, maybe not, um...yeah, wait a minute...no, um yeah"

Glad Alexandra is finally gone. She wasn't a real contender.

Wendy and Morgan are so gone next week.

So, in conclusion i want to see Austin and Jay kiss just once. Not that I think there each others types, I just want to SEE it.

P.S. Hi to all the familiar names from QE.

Hi S-Lady!

Tagging on...

Here is my opinion of each of the remaining designers:

Kevin- Kevin is the most difficult one for me to judge. His designs are *usually* good, but the envy dress was nothing to brag about, the unconventional materials dress was not spectacular, but others failed far worse, and the rock star dress was hideous. Even though the judges hated it, his was my favorite swimsuit. I love that it does not look at all like a swimsuit. How many variations of a swimsuit can a person do? First you decide between one or two piece, then you decide how much skin you want to show off, and finally add things to it such as Alexandra or Jay did. In my opinion, it allows for the least amount of creativity, because they all fit roughly in one of two categories. But Kevin reinvented the swimsuit. It is one that models or larger size people can wear, and either one will look hot. But what troubles me about Kevin is that he seems weak and unsure of himself. Standing on the stage last night and being asked if he thinks he made a good impression, he needs the model to support him and tell him he did. He could not stand up to Morgan when she pulled her usual crap, but instead just got quieter when she starts yelling at him. Fashion is a business, and he needs to show some confidence in his work and himself to sell it to everyone else.

Jay- Jay is my favorite. It's interesting to see what will come out of his mouth next. He seems a bit highstrung, which makes for great tv, but it's gotta be awful to try and be working on your design right next to him and his mouth. Even when he's not in his element, he still rocks the challenge. The one design that comes to mind is the BR dress. That was so gorgeous, and so Anti-Jay, but he made it his own. Now, take a challenge like the Rock Star one, and he rules it. That top was perfection, and I almost bid on the top, even being nowhere near that size, but in the end, I knew I'd want to wear it, so I had to let it go because that would never happen. There are only a few minor complaints I have with Jay. He should have known about having a slit or a kick built into the wedding dress. Watching Morgan walk in it was tragic. The other complaint ties into that. He has awful taste when it comes to the models. Why anyone would choose Morgan is beyond me. His model for the BR challenge had poddle hair and bright red lipstick that clashed with the dress. I have no idea what is going on with the model's hair for the rock star challenge, and to utterly rock the swimsuit challenge, I would have gone with a curvier Martinique, because no offense to Julia, but she looked like one of Rob's beloved soccer moms who was trying to hard to be hot. It takes a very certain type of look to pull of the S&M type look, and this didn't impress me. The only model choice he's made that has thrilled me has been the envy challenge. I can't remember if they choose the models before or after, or whether it depends on the specific challenge, but if it's before, he needs to go with his second choice. I hope and strongly expect he will go to the final three. I'm cautiously crossing my fingers for him being the winner.

Kara- Very talented, as I expect her to be. With Kara, the entire design does not fail, but there are a few minor nitpicks I have. The BR dress would have looked better without those gloves, and the swimsuit/evening wear was lacking the evening wear. But as far as swimwear, I don't think anyone executed the fit better. I hope and predict she will make it to the final three. The Army dress and the wedding dress were Yowza!

Robert- Looking back over his designs, I can't help but notice how ill-fitting his designs are. I noticed this last night on the swimsuit. It was baggy. I noticed this before he started saying how he wanted to design for size 12's. This only confirmed it. I am not wowed by anything Robert has done, but they don't make me cringe like Wendy's or Starr's designs.

Wendy- Ok, Wendy. We get it. You are here to win. The problem is that if you look at other contestant type shows,
those people can back it up with their skill. If you go on Fear Factor and eat something disgusting, you have made no secret that you are there to win, but you also actually did the task necessary to win. Wendy has not. 1st task- design a dress from unconventional materials. That was not a dress. 3rd task- design an evening dress for Banana Republic. She ripped off their existing catalog and won. This last task- create a swimsuit/evening wear. She didn't even manage the swimsuit part of the challenge. Goodbye Wendy.

Austin- Austin's designs are either hit or miss. They are so perfect and beautiful, or they are so horrid and tragic. There just has not been any middle ground so far. It's one extreme or another. The corn husks were imaginative, his envy dress is excellent, and his swimsuit was perfection. But, the BR dress was so childish that it looked like the model was attending a tea party in some bizarro-world. It was too much of a costume. The same can be said of the rock star dress, although in this instance it is forgiveable because it is a costume of sorts. Still, it was appropriate for the challenge, no matter how much I have to admit I love it. The wedding dress was an abomination.

...sometimes things in life are so ridiculous you must resort to humor like the jugding last night.....so here's a joke...THE INSPIRATION POLICE WILL NOT ALLOW ANOTHER EPESODE OF PROJECT RUNWAY BECAUSE IT WAS INSPIRED BY THE DOZENS OF REALITY SHOWS THAT CAME BEFORE IT.....SO LIKE ALEXANDRA AND PICASSO AND MATISSE WHO WERE INSPIRED BY OTHERS THE INSPIRATION POLICE WILL NOT ALLOW ANOTHER EPISODE....(joke) ....oh by the way this doesn't apply to you if you are Jay and you and your model said you were inspired by Helmut Lang and Calvin Klein last week......WHAT DO ALL OF YOU THINK?
