I'm a heterosexual female too, and I think Jay has definite sex appeal. He's so open and funny.

I don't know if Wendy is crazy; I definitely think she's a bad person. I was sorry to see Robert go. I think his outfit was better than Wendy's. Robert should still be around. He wasn't going to make it into the top 3, but Wendy shouldn't either. Her work sucks! I am PRAYING that the top three will be Austin, Kara Saun, and Jay. They are the best of the four left. I also think Kevin got a raw deal. Wendy should have gone instead of Kevin. She's just not a professional. Say what you will about Daniel, Starr, and Mario; they gave it their best shot without trying to take others out with them. Regardless of what the judges say, Wendy will always be a loser in my book.

you know what was the worst for me?
the SMUG look on her face when Kevin, and then again when Robert was eliminated. Smug. from a woman who put inverted pleats in a side seam.
??????????

after seeing those shorts i'm starting to wonder if maybe she is a plant after all. i mean, good lord. there's nobody who could think that looked good.
and since she put the cinch on the back of the shirt, it basically made the model's hips look even wider.
it takes effort to make a model look fat, but she sure accomplished it
katgirl
she made the model look hippy....i think her new reality show is "what not to design" i think Michael Kors was fit to be tied by what she did - did you see what he had to say?

Thanks for adding that. They might accentuate her flaws but they sure aren't making 'em up. I agree!

and you know what?
for someone like Jay (who seems to be able to get along with anyone) to say he "hates" Wendy tells you something. I mean, for pete's sake, Jay's model screwed him and he was laughing it off.
And Kara Saun is so professional, and so easy-going, for her to say negative things about Wendy says something also.

as far as the "i know i've been trying to screw with you since day one but how dare you poke me with a stick just once" hypocritical hysterics that wendy treated us to last night, I was laughing my butt off.

I must say, drawing a moustache on her daughter's picture was not very nice. I don't think it was Jay, Kara or Robio, tho.
My vote is for Morgan!!

Dear God! How Wendy has made it to the top four is beyond me. She is an atrocity to the word fashion and has only managed to stay on the show out of pure luck.

Not only is she disliked by her fellow contestants (and the judges), but also by the weekly viewers.

Despite being the bottom of the barrel every week, she has managed to remain a "contestant" because a designer with superior talent happened to design something slightly more horrible than Wendy's always-laughable designs.

To say she belongs in the top 4 with the likes of Austin, Jay, and Kara is to belittle THEIR designs, not praise hers. She is nothing short of untalented, fashionably clueless, and...well..."dowdy"

I hope she realizes that she has not, in fact, made it this far on her talent--or lack thereof--because she would be sorely mistaken.

LOL!

"FARTY"

I tell you, i laughed more during this episode than any other.
From the previews, it appears that Nina and Michael are judges next week. I hope that means Wendy's in trouble.
And I hope Tim keeps his damn mouth shut!!!
if michael has a problem with wendy's lack of style, let her pay the price for it. that's what this is all about.

this was the funniest epy ever...my favorite part had to be Austin walking the walk - yes he did look Butch in Jay's outfit cuz that is the closest I've ever seen Austin dressed in non-froo froo. I thought his legs were soooooooo cute in his mailman suit. I knew kara was going to light into that redesign like a book o' lit matches cuz that suit looked hideous on her. Rob even looked like a dork in his mail uniform but he was funny running into the shower naked. Even the "why........" siloquy was funny coming from Wendy cuz it was just soooooooo staged. I think she knew nobody in the room did it, she just wanted sympathy mayhaps she needed to be forgiven for all of her dreadful sins.

Kara, Jay and Austin are the only ones that deserve to be in the final 3. If they let Wendy pass again, I will not watch anymore, because then, it will prove the producers are more concerned with shock tv than true talent. SHES SCREWY!!!!I turn the channel when she's on and count to 5 then go back to see if shes off yet- I can't stand to even look at her anymore! I can't imagine being stuck in an apartment with her. She's just a big ball of nasty, negative energy and she brings me down man. If any of the 3 others get it - i will be happy, Kara and Jay have worked their bootays off and they deserve it the most (there were 2 I thought Jay should have won, the leather rock outfit, and the bathing suit.)I would try on Jay and Karas banana outfits before wendys, blah! GET RID OF PSYCHO ITCH!

I bet the surprise elimination will be Austin. Let's face it, he has the biggest fan base on this board and therefore it would be a shock for the majority of the posters. However, in "reality", he stands as much of a chance to ultimately beat out Jay or Kara in the finals as does Wendy. So, Bravo will more than likely keep Wendy as she will create more friction in the final episodes and leave you guys talking like crazy, further hyping the event. True TV is not going to have a show without a villan... after all I have seen it said many times, she is like the wicked witch. Kara can be Dorthy and Jay can be the Scarecrow.

Here's a little fun-fact that I was reminded of when I read the end of your post... In our high school's production of The Wizard of Oz, Jay played the cowardly lion. He was brilliant then and is to this day. He's had the courage to do great in this competition all along. If the show is true to the talent of the designers, he has no reason to be scared now.

I don't like this "shocking elimination" that they are teasing us with. To get to fashion week without Jay, Kara, or Austin would be a travesty. If Wendy stays in, it's proof that it's all about Bravo keeping her in for entertainment value. (Even if it's bad entertainment.) I hope the shock is that they eliminate her to prove us wrong and stay true to the talent of the designers.

ok here it is... no spoilers really:

http://www.themodernage.org/2005/01/projec...ect-subway.html

Riding on the F train down from Midtown (where we had just seen the new Woody Allen movie), we watched the clock carefully. We were supposed to be at the Lansing-Dreiden/Diamond Nights Delancey show at 9pm, which was only 25 minutes away. We were looking through the windows of the subway doors around the 20s when we spotted a pale person with big dark-rimmed glasses.

"Is that...? No, it couldn't be!" we told ourselves. The person stepped in and walked the end of the subway car, standing in front of a subway door on the opposite side. We peered over curiously, to see if it was who we thought it was. The person was wearing straight legged blue jeans, black shoes, and a generic active wear black water-resistant winter jacket with the hood pulled over. We continued to crane our necks, when we saw the person pull down their hood and reveal a mane of white-blond hair.

"Ahhh!!!," we shouted to ourselves. "It's AUSTIN SCARLET from 'Project Runway'!" For a split second we were ready to jump up to him and say something, but we controlled ourselves--we didn't know what stop he was getting off at. How embarrassing would that be to run up to someone and tell them that you were so excited to see them and then stand there for 5 awkward subway stops with probably everyone looking at the both of you like you were freaks. So we sat in our seat and planned to say something to him like, "I love your work!" if he happened to get off at the same stop.

But alas, he did not do so. Around 8:40 he got off at the West 4th Street station.

We had to wonder if Austin was in New York City getting ready for Fall Fashion Week. Is he be one of the 3 Project Runway finalists to show their collection? Hmmmm...

Something just occurred to me -- Wendy, unfortunately, won the Banana Republic challenge. As they are funding the show -- maybe this has something to do with why she is being kept on?

Of course!

And Austin is not geared toward that style. His costume-i-ness and limitted range is finally gonna cost him.

Also his design for next week's show doesn't look so good (check the preview). A gaping, almost obscene lower half and colors like a bruise.
DeViL44
I totally agree that Kara's dress shown in the "preview" of the next episode is really horrible looking compared to the others. But wait! If she won last challenge, doesn;'t that mean she has a guaranteed IN for the next!??
But...is that ONLY when the judges SAY SO?? Uh oh...if so, then Kara may be eliminated. It's either her or Austin. I agree that Austin is such a talented designer, but still a bit too costume-type to fit in with stuff the challenge looks for. His style is VERY "fantasy elegance" and he designs lots of ruffles, silks, and formal wear converted into fantasy reality. I mean, I like his dresses...but unfortuantely it's not what the judges are really going for...
I think the final three will be Wendy, Jay...and MABYE Austin. Like I said, most likely Kara will be out cuz her design doesn't look so great in the preview clip. Hopefully Kara stays. I know Wendy will make it for sure cuz first off...she's designed many formal AND wedding dresses so she feels very comfortable with this competition and her design doesn't look doudy and horrible. It looks very appealing and beautiful. She will stay for sure. Austin and Kara are the designers who will be out...it's one of them. That's my opinion.
RGRRGR
I find it utterly ridiculous for anyone who says they will not watch the next episode if their favorite is voted off. Lets face it, you guys are already hooked, and regardless of who goes, you guys are in it till the end. For gosh sakes, some of you write volumes about this show and like that you think you will stop and not watch the trainwreck, regardless of the outcome. Ha Ha! That I seriously doubt.
SleepyD
When this show first started I thought, "How wonderful for Bravo to showcase and search for such untapped talent such as fashion designers for a competitive reality series." I did think the job of judging "who's in and who's out" would be easy as for the most part bad fashion design always sticks out like a sore thumb, esp. when staged with and beside good-excellent fashion design. Boy, was I wrong!

For the life of me I can not see how Wendy Pepper has made it to the top four, other than she is the only one that the producers feel fits the demographic of the "everyday suburban housewife that sews clothes for her family and friends and dreams of a life that she could have had as a fashion designer." But, alas, as anyone who has ever had a life and "a career" knows that dreams do not equal reality or TALENT!

As far as fashion design and talent, Wendy Pepper should have been the very first to go. Granted Daniel's design lacked innovation, but at least it simulated a concept and design and was wearable. Wendy Pepper had NO CLOTHES, NO DESIGN, NO CONCEPT and did not even fit the challenge of making a piece that could be worn out for a night on the town (other than her really pitiful excuse for it matching her model's nationality)--it was just let's see what kind of cr*p I can throw together and bull I can throw out to explain it to the judges--as it has with most all her designs. Then when she's called down on the carpet (or runway) by one of the judges like she was in 2055 collection, she blames someone else.

NOTE: Bravo/PR, this is not the mark of a good fashion designer (even a mediocre one) or of a true business person which I thought was what your show was looking for and promoting! Not to mention all her other downfalls that indicate she would not last 1 day in the true world of business let alone the fashion industry! I so truly hope you have not let her get to the final three when so many deserved ones have been taken out before her.

I'm not really sure where the producers were going with airing her tantrum about the mark made to her daughter's picture. I mean if this snapshot was so precious to her and she didn't have a copy, negative or file of it, why did she not have it protected in some way or form (a 99 cent acrylic frame would suffice and light enough to carry around in your tack/sewing kit). Did she or the producers ever think she could have done it herself (not intentionally as others have mentioned--I don't think any mother who truly loves their children would do such a thing). I mean, here she is at her worktable with pens and markers (herself) to draw/mark patterns and material along with scissors, pins, etc. and she keeps a "precious" snapshot of her daughter amongst it all totally unprotected from such elements! Where does she have the right to accuse the other designers of such petty sabotage[?]; especially when she appears to be the only one(and has ever been so) engaged in sabotage. I guess it takes one to suspect one as well.

I want and I know practically every other fan and viewer of this show wants to see Kara, Jay, and Austin showcased during fashion week. For Wendy to make that group would be such a travesty and joke. I went to her website as other posters have suggested. Viewing her "collections" (term used loosely) I can not see how she has any individual designer concepts or focus in anything she designs and makes--other than as Michael Kors would say "dowdy". I'm not sure if the models she uses are clients, friends, or hired for a website shoot, or whatever; but, if they are clients, why is she designing clothes that in no way flatter the woman/girl that will be wearing it. Isn't that one of the first rules of fashion design. I have no idea where she is going with her boudoir/negligee designs or why several were shot outdoors. It is also the first time I've seen dowdy and an attempt at sexy meshed into the same design concept. I guess if you are a woman looking to showcase "dowdy" then Wendy Pepper would be the perfect designer for you.

Kara, Jay, and Austin have the best chance of making it as fashion designers and business entrepreneurs. I, myself, love Kara's designs as she has always been true to her own individual vision. Austin and Jay have as well, but Austin's vision, like the judges have said, can be too costumey, and Jay can also be a bit out there. Although Jay can adapt his style to appeal to a wide-range of women (as in his BR design). Something I'm sure Kors finds appealing. The only problem I see with Kara is that she does appear to be influenced quite a bit by YSL. To me that is a good thing, but they did vote out Alexandra (much to my dismay, esp. in the fact they kept Wendy in) for copying (or admitting to copy) Kors.

For me, any of the three--Kara, Austin, or Jay, would make wonderful, well-deserved winners of the awards and prizes, but please (PLEASE! PR) do not give it to (ahem, as Jay would say) the cockroach.

I'm with you, sleepyD.

if wendy makes the final three, I think the only assumption I will be able to make is that this program is not based on fashion or skill or talent in the least, that it is just another crappy reality show with a bunch of nutcases trying to appear machiavellian. I watch this show to get a look at the clothes, (although I must say i don't feel there is enough camera time given to the outfits) and to see how the designers respond to the challenges. Frankly, I'd prefer a lot more focus on their design processes and a lot less on the other stuff.
I guess if Wendy makes it to the final three we will know not to bother watching any more Bravo "reality" shows based on competition, because we will know that they aren't truly based on competition............

SleepyD, I agree with you 100%. Unfortunately, this show did not meet my expectations. It was such a good idea, but somebody decided to predetermine the final four. I posted a message three weeks ago (it is on page 108) predicting these Final Four just by a simple analysis of judges’ behavior.

It was thought to look like a cinderella story, if Wendy wins. Yes, it is! But Wendy is not Cinderella - she is the stepmother. I really hope that the producers have some since of reality and my other predictions will be wrong.
Seagull
Hmmm perhaps since we "won't see this elimination coming", Wendy makes the most gorgeous design ever seen in the fashion world and then they decide to boot her anyway for her over-all performance. Well, hope springs eternal.
Just a few other observations:
Olga was (as another poster stated) in dire need of a bra last night. The outfit wasn't great to begin with and that just made the top look even less appropriate.
I think last night's episode had the most laughs of any in the series so far, truly enjoyable!

I am almost worried about that. On the preview the dramatic end had Wendy with an evil smile and no close up of Kara Saun.

This episode is my favorite so far. I just can't wait for next weeks epi. Reasons why I liked this weeks epi:

1: Watching Jay goof around with the postal worker. Jay is one of my favorite designers and I love his sense of humor!

2: Watching Wendy having a break down. Now, while i don't comend the drawing on her daughter's picture, I did like the fact that she was freaking out. I mean, wasn't she the one who said that she was just trying to be nice so everyone would lean on her so she could make it farther in the show? I guess the remaining designers saw her for who she truely is.

3: Austin on the runway!! Definitly my vote for most memorable moment on the show! Who will forget that! I think both Jay and Austin deserve mucho praise for that; Jay for not giving up and Austin for being a true sport about it. Austin could have been an ass about it and said no.. but he didn't which just goes to show how great of a guy he is.

I'm really excited for next weeks epi. I just hope that Wendy will finally be eliminated (I thought she should have gone after week 4) Once she is gone I can start singing "Ding Dong the which is dead!"

Thank you. You took the words right out of my mouth. There are many reasons why I do not watch "reality" shows but the main reason is that most people end up looking really stupid (like why would anyone want to present themselves this way in front of millions of people?) when they start plotting against their fellow contestants.

What I like about PR is watching the creative process and seeing the end result. I just read an article about the show and Heidi states that it is more like a documentary than a reality show. The producers managed to pick a great group of people and, with the exception of Wendy, everyone is much liked by the viewers. I hope the producers drop the "survivor" bs and show us more fashion (and Tim!)
Xiomara
yeah..you are sooOOooo right! New AMERICAN designer! Yep. Well, considering Queer Eye went to Britain, they should do a P.R. version there as well and kept the designers on this version all american.
Xiomara
The way I see it, maybe it was an accidental mark on the photo. You know, like she accidentally brushed it and it got marked, because...if I had done something like that, I woulda gone whole hog...much more than just a simple slash...more like a goatee, mustache, maybe some shades, freckles, you know...more than what was on the photo to get more of a recation.
jescci
There's no way Kara will be eliminated. She's been too good for too long. Even if her dress is awful. They let Austin slide with his wedding dress. The only way she'd go is if she broke the contract in some way or had some kind of nervous breakdown. Odds are zero.
pinkorangered
The thought of Wendy making it to the final three, over genuine talent and graciousness, is ghastly, and not even good television. It only supports the suspicion of another sleazy reality show, when this program has been a breath of fresh air, classy and stimulating.
Lacking great talent, then staging crazy antics and not remaining fierce (if that was your thing), then possibly making it to the end, sadly representing a certain demographic? Cringeworthy!
Kara Saun is clearly the finest and most deserving possible winner.
distressedgirlie
I am so over Wendy !!!! I think it is her time to go,she is so negative and has backstabbed her co-designers one too many times ! Not to mention the fact that her designs are so bland and boring. To the other three remaining designers ya'll rock and good luck !!!!
lisakaz
I wonder what kind of collection the 3 will be asked to make, how different and similar each can be, etc. I think the parameter of the collection might help determine the winner. I mean, if they are widely varied, I think Jay might have a great advantage, as his versatility has received compliments. He did a great BR dress (regardless of what BR thought). He did a great postal outfit. He did a great swimsuit. If it is more narrowly conceived, Kara or Austin will have an advantage. We shall see. I just am hoping they are all in. I wouldn't begrudge the judges if any of the 3 won. They've all shown flashes of brilliance and clearly stand out. Wendy is comic annoyance.

While I agree Wendy's designs are the most lacking in creativity of the final designers, I'm going to play devil's advocate where she's concerned. Of the four left, she is the only one who openly said what she thought in front of everyone. She said to Austin's face he wasn't as strong a leader as he should have been (which was true... he let Vanessa change his "rocker chick" design) while Jay, when speaking only to the camera, accused Austin of whoring himself to win the bathing suit contest. Wendy accused Kevin of not being a strong leader to his face (the 2055 episode), but Kara said the same thing, but again, only to the camera. It's hypocritical of the designers to get down on Wendy for doing what they themselves do. But then again, I'm only seeing what the network shows me. Wendy openly came in with an agenda but didn't they all? Each is there to win.

I agree the final three will be Jay, Austin and Kara. They all have a unique style and choosing the winner will be difficult. Kara is so classic - Austin is so retro - and Jay is just Jay... original and eccentric.

Wow, I was actually impressed with Austin's walk! I went to modeling school for a year (not that Im a proffesional or anything) and he walks better than most of the girls at my school (no offence to them). I think it was really cool that he agreed to do that, just anouther reasion to love him!

If I remember correctly, Wendy had that evil smile during all the elimination rounds (she was probably born with that smile) so I wouldn't put much stock into that. Also, the announcer has told us a few time that "next week there is a surprise elimination" or words to that effect and it usually wasn't that big of a surprise in the end. I don't trust Bravo's promotions for they usually prove wrong or overly dramatic.

it is clear who is a designer and who is just a dressmaker, and clearly not a very talented one at that.

i agree with the other posters, tho.
i think poor robio is going to take a hike tonight. the producers probably want to keep cruella deville around so we will continue to watch her alternately plot and wring her hands.........................

Im glad you agree with me. I have not yet been on Kevin's site (Athough Im going there right now) but from the show I could tell by the second episode he was more talented. And he can be a push-over, but he is so calm under heated situations wich is a trait that comes in handy! I was really floored when he got kicked off! I dont think they really looked at his design and work ethic!

I think it's highly unlikely that Kara will be the next designer to be eliminated. She has won 4 of the 8 previous challenges. She is an amazingly gifted designer. She has also been very skilled in creating what the judges are looking for. I just don't think she'll start missing the mark this late in the game. She has been too focused on making it to fashion week for that to happen. I think the only way she could possibly be elimiated is if a litle sabotage is involved.

There are several possibilities as to who the "technical support" could be. It could be one of the designers who has been previously eliminated. It would really get Wendy's goat if it were Vanessa or Kevin! Which of the eliminated designers said, "I'll be back."? Was it Nora or Kevin? It is also possible that Morgan could be the "support." That whole chapter just seemed unfinished to me. I've has the feeling for a while that we haven't seen the last of her.

Could Morgan possibly be the one who marked the photo of Wendy's daughter? Wendy was the one who actually eliminated Morgan. Even though she said it was only because the other designers didn't want to work with Morgan, Wendy made the decision that Morgan was "out." Of course, as it's already been said, Wendy could have done tt herself. I really don't think Kevin marked the photo even though he had the access and the motive to do it.

Am I seeing a different preview here in Connecticut or something? I haven't heard anything about a 'surprise elimination'. Also, two episodes ago, posts on the message boards talked about Austin and Jay in that mock fight they had over the Page 6 article, but that scene didn't appear to be included in the previews I had seen. Anyone else notice any similar inconsistencies?

I believe that Wendy marked the picture up. She was totally acting later on when she was getting upset at them. I also think she took Kevin's pattern piece. I wouldn't be surprized if she messed with the sewing machines in the challenge where Jay couldn't get one to work. I wouldn't put anything past her. She is thoroughly conniving, and would do anything to get to fashion week. Even SHE knows she can't make it on sheer talent alone.

Kevin didn't mark up her picture. He has too much class for that. He has the talent, and now the exposure. He'll go farther in the fashion industry than Wendy can even dream of going.

Wendy's website is a horror. The designs are awful. No one walks around in see-thru clothing like that! Totally classless & clueless. Sad.

I think she should've gone in week one when she glued the candy on Martinique. That was the absolute worst!

I haven't seen anything about the surprise elimination either. Also, I've noticed PR aired the following clips weeks ago, none of which have been included in any of the episodes thus far:

1. A clip of Austin dipping a manequin and asking, "may I have this dance, Ms. O'Dell?"

2. A clip of Austin hugging a weeping Morgan and asking her, "why would she say something like that?"

3. A clip of Jay on the runway during a judging session where he his eyes are visibly red from crying.

Am I imagining things? What gives?

*****POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT******

The following link contains a photo of Austin with Heidi and other eliminees, including Nora, Robert, and Audrey (the model). Does this mean the theory about Austin getting kicked off and Wendy staying is accurate?!?!?

New here - just had to say I'm addicted to the show, this week was both the funniest and the saddest - I hated to see Robert and his butt go. He should get an offer from Playgirl - it would sell a lot of issues!
It seems like a setup - they show Kara being worried after she won the challenge, telling herself to hold on - only one more week. She shouldn't be worried, but with they way the show is setting things up, it makes you wonder why that was in there. And as another side note to Robert - they should have had more shots of him with his hair down - ooh la la!!!!

Oh yes, you're right -- I forgot the rock star episode. Kevin's team won. My point was that Austin won more than one challenge.

Jay rocks!!
