Damn that Robert - if only he put in another half-hour into his post office shirt, we'd be dancing on Wendy's TV grave.
Robert needed to complete his postal uniform design with a utility jacket, maybe with zippered sleeves( something like the pants concept) and a utility belt for small items. His design had promise, but his finish design was not enough. It looked like a lazy effort.
P.S. Even if his design was the best of the group, he still would be eliminated...That is unfortunately about show biz ratings. The producers want a big final show build up for a surprise ending.
what about tim?
that weasel. (LOL!)
helping wendy?
I mean, can you truly help someone who thinks that orthopaedic shoe belongs on a runway ANYWHERE?
all she did was give the model her own shoe, since tim said it looked good................................

Could the "elimination you never saw coming" refer to the model who will be eliminated?
Could the layout of the pictures of the fashion week show be significant? Three designers are shown at the very beginning of the sequence, and another one lower down...

Wendy is . . . maybe the most endearing and possibly the character that it is easiest to sympathize with.
I'm sorry but I'm a 40 year old woman and one of the best life lessons that I've learned in all my years is to be honorable, gracious, respectful, and honest. I'm baffled at the way Wendy has treated her fellow contestants; hey, you want to make it to the top three? then do so on your merits instead of "trashing Kevin" (Wendy's quote from her website.) I liked her at first since I could identify with her but her actions have been very dishonorable. If her actions had been honorable she wouldn't have to explain, justify, etc. her actions on her website.

Again, sorry but I've been reading many, many posts about how people dislike Wendy's designs and they think that she is a dressmaker as opposed to a designer.
Also, if you check out The Runway link on the Episodes link you will see that the Judges have placed Wendy's designs near the bottom or even last many times.

how funny is it that we refer to that epy as the Postal episode...didn't somebody go postal? i'm disappointed that no one attributed working for the post office for a day to Windy's behavior.

In looking at the designs listed on WireImage, I must say that Austin's overall are not that good, there seems to be something about his collection that reminds me of an old time western (i.e. Gunsmoke). Jays appear a little futuristic, although well put together. Wendy's appear unfinished and strange. Those attributed to Kara seem like they could be sold and worn present day.
However, my humble opinion.

My husband came up with an interesting theory...
He speculates that the producers took Wendy aside early on and made a deal with her:
Producers: Wendy, let's face it, you're an okay dressmaker but not really competitive for the top three. But if you help us out, we can make sure you show at Fashion Week...
Wendy: What do you have in mind?
Producers: Well, you know reality shows... we need drama, we need a villain. We'll get you to Fashion Week, but you have to be our villain. You have to let us streak your hair and give you hideous blue eye shadow... and you have to plot and scheme your way through the show, on camera, as often as possible. You do that for us, and we'll get your designs in fashion week.
Of course, to maintain any credibility at all, they had to keep the 3 designers who deserved to be in the top 3... but they added Wendy as a fourth for payback for a job well done. Very well done, I'd say, from the level of interest in her on these boards.

I think it is interesting also how nobody is really willing to attack her designs. It seems like all the responses to my post were either personal attacks on me (which I could care less about) or personal attacks on Wendy. The only thing that keeps people on this show are the designs.
Okay, I'll attack her designs. Her postal worker design was beyond lazy and made Melissa, who is quite attractive, look like she had my size thighs (heaven forbid). It was downright dowdy, to use Michael's word. While I liked her swimsuit, it didn't look like a swimsuit--it was a dress. I didn't like her wedding dress because I didn't think it looked like a wedding dress--it looked like a prom dress. I actually liked her 2055 dress (I certainly didn't think it looked like cat yak).
The bottom line, though, is that at this point she is out of her league. Kara Saun, Jay, and Austin are simply *better than Wendy*. She hangs on by luck and because the producers want a bad guy.

I'm echoing here.
but hello? go back and read a sister's post.
there are a bunch of us who have been attacking wendy's designs since day one.
but here's a reiteration if you're lazy.
the first design was NOT CLOTHING. woven candy: that's not innovation. and if josieann hadn't contributed her own drawers, it would have been a completely different kind of reality show.
second design: vision? ha. it was lame. unfinished. poorly fitted. poor/no concept. slipshod execution. and I think the model was wearing that mask because she didn't want anyone to recongize her in that bag.
third design: commercial appeal: it was boring. one of the most basic designs, almost the first thing we learn in design school-- it looked a lot like the dress we make to learn to fit things on people. (and the neckline on the cape looked cartoonish)
fourth design: she didn't design it, austin did, so nothing to talk about.
fifth design: working with a client: apparently to wendy that means lying your butt off. the dress: asymmetrical and lacing. just like 80 percent of the dresses on her website. So i suppose it was finished because she didn't really have to "design" anything.
sixth design: make a splash: wendy's attempt was to ask a reporter she was charged with charming: "so, what do you want me to say?" the suit: shirring, which as many designers/dressmakers know is a common method of hiding a lack of skill underneath. once it got wet, it would have looked like a trainwreck. it wasn't hemmed. it had no bottom. Again, we have a model contributing her own drawers to a design.
seventh design: she sliced up a sweater. her skirt was made from another sweater, again sliced. that apparently was wendy's view of "deconstruction." Lame again. no concept again.
eighth design: i must say I bow to wendy's skill on this one. It takes real talent to make a six foot tall, 110 pound model look like a hippy, overweight hungarian fishwife.
But our wendy did it!!!
So, there you go. Sorry for the long post.
I could say more if you really want me to.
But in the words of our kevin johnn, "I don't think you want to know what I think."

Thank you for stating my thoughts so well! I just sent a letter to Bravo Viewer Relations (Contact link is at the bottom of page) expressing my disappointment.
I guess that since Wendy couldn't make it to the top three based upon her merits, Bravo and the producers changed the rules so that there are four finalists.
