My point about this not being like "Survivor" is that it's not the direct kind of competition where you can form groups and alliances that directly affect who leaves and who doesn't. You leave because your work is deemed unfit. Do you know what I mean?? The things that happen on the runway are the things that matter, not the petty stuff that goes on backstage. Therefore, I just think Wendy was focusing too much on creating this weird strategy in which she alienated herself from people, instead of just producing good work.

Amen to that! I have no idea how she made it this far. Furthermore, I don't see how ANYONE who actually watched this show could POSSIBLY say they like Wendy or her work. I agree with whomever said that Wendy's family is getting on to give her positive feedback. Ha ha! Seriously though, how could anyone say they liked this chick who was so obviously malicious and horrid! And boo his to BRAVO if this was all a ratings ploy. I think the fun aspects of Jay & Austin would have been enough! Who needs WENDY!?

Oh my God, it's Wendy! Maybe it is bad form to dis her like we all do but, I gotta tell ya, I've never disliked a reality show character as much as I do her. The chick is totally ill! I understand that leaving her in the final 3 adds a little drama but come on! I waited all week to see her get the boot and boy was I pissed to see her win! I really thought that the final 3 would have been the 3 best designers. I guess the need for drama obviously won out.
And by the way....you know she drew on that picture herself. She just had to find a way to be a victim after everyone distanced themselves from her. The chick is so ill......

I don't think Wendy should die, but be placed in a miserable torture chamber for her truly rude ways. Everyone was initially nice to her. She brought it on herself. I would never want to befriend her after she showed her true colors.
Wendy seems to be this miserable individual who thinks she's above everyone else. She separated herself from the group. She is a manipulative shrew with a huge chip on her shoulder. Wendy is a condescending know-it-all.
I would never buy anything she ever made. Her designs even reflect her own personal look - SLOPPY. God, where did she learn to do her make-up? Clown school or from her young daughter? And I am so sick of seeing her wear that lab coat as part of her wardrobe.
Yes, it was mean to have someone write on her daughter's face. As the saying goes, "What goes around, comes around."
I also find incredibly stupid to choose someone like Nancy O'Dell to be a judge. She is one of the worst dressers. She is incredibly tacky. Just to help clue her in...her outfit last year sucked and it will again since she chose Wendy's outfit. I thought it was the most horrible shape and the feathers...gag me.
It is sad that Austin is gone, but he will go far. Wendy has as much talent as Austin's one pinky.
So I hope Jay or Kara win because they are two incredibly talented individuals. Kick her sorry butt off this show and piss all over her pitiful dreams.
Wendy can't be a happy person. How can you be happy when you allow yourself to stoop to such low levels of cruelty? She is just so bitter about feeling like this is her last chance because she's over 40 (although she does look like she's creeping into 50).
Grow up for god's sake! You have two young daughters - nice way to be a good role model for your girls. Show your girls that your willing to win at any cost, including selling your soul to the devil.
In that case, may Wendy should die.

I HATE WENDY!!! I've been dying to see her get kicked off, and when she got chosen, my heart just sank. Project Runway- you guys did a great job getting us to really react to a cast member that way, cuz yes, it's my first to hate someone so much. But please, get her off the show!!! She sucks!!! I'm not the type to say mean things about other people, but Wendy seriously needs to stop being so bitter. People tried to help her from the beginning, but she's just EVIL!
Austin~ you should have DEFINITELY been on the top 3. I'm so pissed!!!!! AAARGH!!!!!
I also definitely agree that she drew on her own daughter's picture. She'll do whatever it takes to ruin other people and to get attention.

jina and all you Wendy haters are a bunch of babies! If you watch the episodes over as many times as I have you see that Wendy had no choice BUT to fight back! And the funny thing is she fought back with talent! She's the ONLY one who really listened to Nancy O'Dell. And Kara Saun's whining about her stealing her color pallette. PLEASE!! Did Kara Saun invent orange? She sabotaged JAY! And although I love Jays clothes - he didn't listen to Nancy AT ALL! He used one of the colors she HATES! And Austin? He's talented, yes, if you want to look like Grace Kelly 24/7! At least he was graceful when he lost. MUCH more graceful than the rest of the children. I hope the winner of the whole thing is Wendy with Jay second. Kara can go back to making her 1 trick pony neckline for Eve.
Look at www.wendypepper.com - Her clothes are ABSOLUTELY original and classic! Just because she doesn't fit into your expectations physically and emotionally you judge her. Thank God talent won out instead of bowing out to popular opinion! I wish the music business was as fair, instead of continuing to repackage the same, old tired Madonna wanna be sad 80's crap (can you say SARAH HUDSON).

That's great that Jay's and Kara's designs were shown. Wouldn't that be nice if they tied for first?
On Wendy haters, I've said my piece on this board and think this is good place for people to vent. BUT I must say it's getting a little over the top. When that happens, then isn't that the same as acting like Wendy? vindictive, malicious, mean? If anything, I am starting to feel sorry for her. Anyone who would be manipulative, tricky, and backstabbing is one very insecure person. I didn't like to see that kind of behavior get rewarded, other than that, hope she learns from this experience.

Okay, I'm not sure how this actually worked, but fashion week is over, so I was dying to see if I could find any of the PR winners' fashions online. I found this:
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor..._project_runwaySo our little Austin doesn't get the $100K, but it sounds like his designs were shown at Fashion Week. You go, Austin. It also says that Jay's were the fan fave! Love him and Kara Saun, so I'm pleased by the outcome. As for the Wendy lover who defended her (can there be more than one?), you can buy her clothes, but not me. Her last dress, which I liked, only came together after Tim persuaded her to tighten it up. She had chains and rings and feathers all woven into some Big Bird fiasco. Same holds true w/those post office shoes. Can you imagine that beautiful, fresh Melissa traipsing down the runway in those Wendy shoes? Ugh. She may have some talent, but she doesn't pay any attention to fashion or trends, doesn't listen to anyone else, yet she has no confidence in her own work. So unless she's got a "Tim" in her life who will tell her the truth (and someone she might actually listen to), we won't be hearing her name for too long. And I'll say it again, she makes me ashamed of my own gender. I will be so sad to see this show end. Hope they do another one soon.

Hey, cool down. The truth is that the DESIGNERS who design mid and low priced lines for Middle America don't always show at Fashion Week. They don't need to. And yes, I would bet that you would find that some of these folks started out as dressmakers. I'm not defending Wendy's design sensibilities here. I am just pointing out that those Fashion Week designs (as opposed to the challenges on the show) actually would sell and in big numbers to Middle America. Although I adore Jay and Kara Saun, their pieces will sell on Fifth Ave., but in fewer numbers. (And yes, there is high fashion all over the place, but it is harder to find off the coasts, IMHO).

It amuses me tons that the people who accuse Wendy of being a miserable whiny wretch are basically being whiny miserable whiny wretches themselves. Never has the phrase "takes one to know one" being in better display.
And before one of you "geniuses" accuses me of being Wendy or part of her immediate family, go back and read my posts. My favorites have always been Jay and Nora. No real feeling for La Pepper.
OTO, I don't understand the love for Kevin either. That dude was a shady tool, he wasn't any better in character than La Pepper. Look at how he treated darling Nora and poor little Starr. Jackass.

Honestly, my feeling on Wendy vs. Austin is that I feel that the producers made the final choice. Knowing that they could livin' up the show by cutting one of the favorites they decided to do that to keep us coming back for more. Wendy was on the chopping block almost every week, which made for her time to go long overdue.
It sucks for Austin that just because Wendy's design was picked by Ms. Accesshollywood that he got cut. I thought they said that there were not going to be any guaranteed ins. If it were up to the other fashion critics and I think even Heidi, Wendy would have been out. It's unfortunate that she made it as far as she did with the lack of talent that she has. She is aware of her inabilities and so is the world now.

In my book, both Wendy and Austin I had problems with. Austin was totally polished and his clothes looked impeccable, but his design aesthetic was always the same. Frilly princessy. Look how Jay managed to infuse each project with his own aesthetic and worked within the constraints of the challenge.
Wendy on the other hand, I do dislike how her clothes look half-assed and unfinished. She worked better under the challenge constraints than Austin did.
Ultimately, Austin was not going to win this competition. He always had one vision (which is the landmark of a good designer I suppose) but he just refused to back down. He'll be ok. I actually have a lot of respect for him because of how he handled his exit (a lot more professionally and maturely than a lot of other folks on the show and these boards)

All four of them showed capsule collcetions apparently, Austin just wasnt judged. So really in the end, his elimination didn't matter. You can see a photo of one of Kara Sauns pieces, and one of Austins on the MSN Olympus Fashion show slide show.

It is very hard to post a message on this board other than to reply to an existing one. What is going on?
I am very glad that Wendy won. I felt that she was being treated unfairly by the others, including Kara, Jay and Austin. When she criticized Kevin, she was correct. Her only problem was that she didn't know how to play the game as well as the others, who criticized every one else, including Kevin, to the cameras, but not to the judges. Kara was being extremely hypocritical when she said that Wendy was being vindictive, playing "ugly", etc. She needs to look at the tapes of her behavior and how she unfairly blamed Wendy for allegedly stealing her color scheme for Ms. Odell's Grammy dress - the video clearly show that Wendy did not spy on Kara, watch her pick out orange and then go and get some herself. Wendy just happened to be as smart as Kara and noticed what Odell was wearing and went for it. But Kara and Austin were just so full of themselves that anyone who showed any talent must have stolen it from them.
It spoke a lot about Kara and Jay's character that they did not even congratulate Wendy for her win.
Wendy has a lot of talent, but every one constantly belittled her and claimed that she had no talent so that others came to believe it.
I believe that Kara, Jay, Austin, et al were actually very worried about Wendy winning due to the fact that she won the Banana Republic challenge and it was obvious, from not only that design but from some of her others (with the exception of her 2050 design which was pretty ugly), that she was able to tap into what the clients wanted. Her swimsuit was absolutely darling-I loved the colors and the design, but she screwed up by not making her own bottom. Also, the second outfit that she made - the one which the public bid for at the silent auction - was actually very pretty. I don't know why the judges thought that it was "unfinished". Her wedding dress was also gorgeous.
Kara and Jay and Austin are very talented, but they are hypocrits. Although they claimed that Wendy played ugly, it was actually them who ultimately played unfair, were vindictive, etc. Wendy just lacked the ability to know when to be honest and when not to, such as when she said that Kevin was not a good leader - the others agreed, but they did not back Wendy up before the Judges. I am glad that Wendy had the strength to continue to hang in and last until the end - many others, including myself, probably would have folded from the unfair accusations being thrown about against me - which accusations were actually intended to break Wendy and make her leave the competition. I look forward to seeing everyone's designs, especially Wendy Peppers, and I wish her luck. I just wish that more people would stand up for her.

Indeed, I cannot find a way to post without replying to someone.
I looked at Wendy's own homepage and found her designs to be somewhere between Frederick's of Hollywood and Bumpkin of Butterick's withough exception. It was sad- her choices of fabric and her consistent flattening and dragging down of bossoms in eveningwear are not flattering to her clients. She even complains about her own creations falling apart - "again", as she puts it- and this is not in ref. to the PR show stuff! That's not good design! Never mind her attitude at this point- going purely on construction and design she should be OUT!
Kara Saun's website is still under construction, but the glimpses provided on the 'space-holding' page are enticing.
Please, if you know where they are, direct me to Jay and Austin's sites.
(I also though Kevin was a bit....I don't know, stoned or something. Unpleasant. But a good designer.)

Wendy just didn't know how to be politically correct when asked her opinion about Kevin's leadership. The others were hypocrits by not telling the judges how they really feel. The others talk bad about every one and belittle Rob's work, yet claim that Wendy is evil for doing the same thing.
I'm glad that she won and hung in there despite all of the psychological warfare aimed against her. She has talent, but every one tried to cover this up by bashing her and making false accusations against her.
Kara and Jay, although very talented, are not more talented than Wendy. Wendy did not "steal" Kara's color scheme, etc. Kara & Jay showed a very "ugly" side of themselves when they did not even congratulate Wendy for winning; the same "ugly" behavior that Kara implicitly claimed Wendy was guilty of.
I hope that Wendy vindicates herself through her designs, not only during fashion week, but while working for Banana Republic, and then in her own "house".
