Heidi looks like she's having fun with the show, though she also looks quite serious at times. When she was doing the SI shoots, she seemed much more open & carefree. I'm sure there is more than a bit of pressure on her to "sell" the show & get good ratings...like Tyra with her reality show.

I don't know why my last post was deleted, but I have a right to be unhappy w/ klums performance, and voice that opinion. It's scary that you would censor a post that simply said klum is a terrible monotone host. It was clearly a poor choice, as there are many more beautiful MUCH better spoken women out there. Please do not delete this post, as that would clearly be unethical censorship.

Come on, you're surprised that your post was deleted?!?!
This is Heidi Klums' show darlin'!! I admire the fact that you want to speak your mind, but why don't you pick on the models or designers if you're in a foul mood.

All I can say about Heidi is.."WOW!" I like her intensity, her seriousness - fashion doesn't have to be frivolous.
Not to mention her beauty...everytime I look at her....stunning. As a woman, even I can appreciate someone so gorgeous.
Hopefully, she's being the muse for my favorite musician (and her boyfriend) Seal and he'll put out another fabulous album.

WHO WANTS TO BE THE NEXT HEIDI KLUM.......I DO I DO.....
PICK ME PICK ME. PLEASE.
SHE IS SO SMART, OUTGOING, SWEET, AND A DELIGHT TO WHAT HER WORK. I AM LEARNING ALOT FROM THIS SHOW.
THERE SHOULD BE A SEWING SHOW NEXT TO MARTHA STEWERT. ILL BE THE HOST IF YOU NEED SOME ONE.

I'm not in a bad mood. I was just very disapointed in her performance! I'm not here for the purpose of picking on someone...I'm here to comment on Heidi's poor perfomance. I'm not sure why you are sticking up for her - perhaps you are her PR person?

Anyway.
I was never really a big Hedi fan, but I've decided that I do actually like her. The only thing I didn't like was when she was like "Auf Wiedersehen." Because really....that was cheesy.

I have to agree, Heidi is gorgeous, but she doesn't really know how to build suspense. And, yes, she has a somewhat monotone way of speaking. If she reads these posts, she'll know what she needs to work on. I'm sure she's accustomed to being critiqued. She's very serious about fashion, and I like that. It's not just some high-paying gig for her. Also, I can tell from the previews and clips that her performance will improve as the show progresses. I don't like some of HER clothes though. She wore this wrinkled tubey thing at the end of the first show that made her look fat. And it was totally the wrong color. Icky...

I agree with you on Heidi's cloths. Does she pick what she's going to wear? I bet not. What must the stylist be thinking?
Hannah_Lorrae
December 9, 2004 - 10:39 AM
Maybe she DOES get to pick what she wears, and she doesn't know how to pick her own clothes for television versus the street? I am sure there will be an episode where the designers get to design for her. If there isn't, there is no fashion justice. Hi, Crystalblue! Keep in touch.

Regarding Heidi's cloths, I didn't mean to sound like she had no taste. After all, she's a super model and that accounts for something. Its only been two episodes and she has a new baby. I read somewhere that she is literally "working her a** off" to get back in shape. It will be interesting to see as time goes on. I did see a recent photo with her Angel buddies and I must say, great job Heidi! You are looking marvelous.
Hannah_Lorrae
December 10, 2004 - 02:34 PM
She definitely has taste. After being a thin model for so long, she probably doesn't know much about camoflauge. Even if her body is changing, there are clothes that would cover it instead of emphasizing it. She wore a shirt in the last episode that was just too small. My husband said he wasn't looking at the cut of the shirt.

After watching "America's Next Top Model" and the personal interaction between the girls and Tyra I gotta wonder why Heidi is so cold. How about some personal interaction?

December 13, 2004 - 01:12 AM
I think she's a poor host. I agree that Tyra was much more interesting, but I'm not sure there can be a direct comparison. All I know is that I find Heidi adds nothing to the show.

ALL MODELS SHOULD HAVE FIGURES LIKE HEIDI KLUM. THE MODELS ON THE SHOW HAVE GORGEOUS FACES, BUT HAVE THE BODIES OF YOUNG, GANGLY-LOOKING BOYS. HEIDI IS THE EPITOME OF FEMININE BEAUTY BECAUSE BESIDES A BEAUTIFUL FACE, SHE HAS A CURVY-50'S BOMBSHELL-TYPE SMOKIN' BOD. SHE HAS A NICE SMALL TAPERED WAIST AND SHE ACTUALLY HAS HIPS!!!! (TOO MANY MODELS JUST LOOK LIKE BEAN POLES)

Heidi should stick to modeling and even producing (I love the concept of the show), but "in reality" she should leave the hosting to a trained professional.

I agree with JCguccigirl. Heidi was not the best choice for the job. I realize that the fashion world is a "bit**", but she makes Donald Trump look like he has some compassion. There really is no reason to be so rude when telling people that their life long dreams are going in the garbage.

Heidi is boring. Her cardboard delivery is a black mark on the show. She's absolutely awful. If you want to be like her, remove all enthusiasm from every situation until you're able to create that perfect dull-as-a-rock feeling in every heart you touch.

Heidi has no personality that comes across onscreen. She's flat and even bitchy at times. Everytime she talks to the designers about the challenges, scoring, critiques, or anything else it's like they all are in trouble with the principal or something. I don't know who chose Heidi to be this show's host or MC or whatever, but they flubbed it. She's not at all interesting even if she is a Victoria's Secret model with big boobs.

Tyra was the first of the super models do have a reality show, and now it seems like they all want to have one. It just seems like Heidi is doing the samething tyra is doing. Yes i know the shows are different, but in the end they both are about fashion and models. Heidi is not the best host all she does is tell people if they did good or if they're going home. I think she should interact more with them. and whats up with the whole german thing when she sends people home??? I like heidi klum as a model and if she wants to do t.v then she needs some serious work

Glamour; I think that just might be a cultural diffrence, my beautiful Mother was German and a bit like that, rather down to business. Her sense of humor was a bit diffrent also but she was also quite intelligent. It is a culture that survived throughout the ages and not from being 'animated'...but more so from the above mentioned.

This is my first time posting to the message boards and I have to say that I must agree with you. I have nothing against Klum, but producers could have definitely chosen a better spokes person than her. She IS monotone and she IS a bit drab. She makes the show seem as though it's a complete knock off the reality show that features girls vying for a chance to be the next big model. (you know which one I'm referring to) Anyway, what exactly IS her role anyway? I mean, it's not like she's a designer herself, nor has she been to design school, so I really don't know what kind of inspiration she can give the candidates. At least with the model show, the host was actually a... model! Maybe they could've gotten someone like Issac Mizrahi who IS a good spokes person and who's had his own show, and has LOTS of personality. And who by the way IS A DESIGNER! But I'm glad you made this comment because I was feeling the exact same way. Poor pick on the producers' part.

I happen to completely agree on this one. I think the powers-that-be got lost in her Heidi's physical beautiful and completely bypassed her monotone delivery. It would have been nice to have gotten a legitimate speaker/host who would bring the show alive. I think they are counting too much on their "colorful" design candidates to keep this show alive. At this rate, one season seems so farfetched.

I so agree. Issac Mizrahi would have been a wonderful choice. Models can model. Some can do other things, others can not.
Heidi also has bizarre outfit choices. Like European Police sirens, individuals with German accents that wear knee-high boots still have negative connotations for some of us. It also sounds like she messes up all the time and they have to do voice over after voice over. Finally the Auf Weidersen thing is pretty cheesy(another viewers perspective as well).
Just my opinion. I am sure Heidi is a sweet person and I am sure very talented at something - hosting a reality show is just is not one of them.
BTW, while I like Wendy a lot, I am so in love with Tim. He just makes me smile - especially when he does that thing with his mouth. OK enough gushing.

On the contrary, I think Heidi Klum is doing a very good job as a host. She makes constructive comments and she doesn't irritate me nor does she annoy me in the show. I think she takes the show seriously.

ya know, I that is a good question. Now in fairness to Heidi, she may be at a different level in her modeling career and feels that she is capable of spotting a good designer. But a designer would have been good, I would like to see Donna Karan ...

When I saw the design of the Jay Team I was so blown away - I think this has been the best design on the entire show to date. I can't believe it did not win. It is extraordinary. Fashion is about vision - and this embodies it completely. This is your dream team, right here.

I agree, IMO Jay's was the best one, however, it was up to the rock & roll star to select the winner, wasn't it?

I thought Vanessa said she did not sew, but I can't be sure now that you question it.
Under one of the links here, Tim said something about the importance of designing for a specific customer, in that regard ANY rock star would have been fine for this episode.
There's ALWAYS an eliment of truth to people's jokes, or they wouldn't be funny! Wouldn't you agree?

Chill out! There's not reason to be xenophobic about it!
Obviously the producers were trying to come up with a slogan with buzz, like "You're Fired!" or "Is that your Final Answer?" It didn't work, but I doubt very much that this was Heidi's choice.
