I like the website and I've been checking it daily for updates. Since those are few and far between, I've come to the message boards. Lots of updates here!!
Nothing on the "shopping" link interests me ..... yet.
I hope to see new stuff there soon!
(Not in 'just' model sizes either)

I LIKE THE WEB SITE JUST BECAUSE ITS PEOPLE YOU CAN TALK TO WITH THE SAME INTEREST AS YOU. WAY BETTER THEN THOSE CHAT ROOMS THAT COMES WITH THE INTERNET SERVICE. WHEN THE SHOW ENDS, DOES THIS MESSAGE BOARD STAY ON.

THIS WEB SITE IS AWSOME EVEN THOUGH NOBODY TALKS TO ME I STILL LIKE READING THE MESSAGES AND ANSWERING THEM. ITS NICE TO KNOW THAT THE PEOPLE YOU ARE TALKING TO HAVE THE SAME INTEREST AND THATS ALL THEY TALK ABOUT. I TALK ABOUT FASHION ALL DAY AND MAKE CLOTHS, DESIGN MY OWN, RIGHT NOW I AM MAKING XMAS PILLIOWS FOR THE FAMILY BUT MY MOTHER DOESN'T CARE ABOUT MY NEW DISCOVERIES OR HOW GOOD I AM GETTING. I AM A 24 YEAR OLD FEMALE THAT SEWS AND DESIGNS CLOTHS IN HER MOTHERS BASEMENT ALL DAY. I HAVE NO JOB. I USED TO BE A DENTAL ASSISTANT BUT HAVE NO INTEREST IN DOING THAT SINCE I GOT MY NEW SINGER SEWING MACHINE. NOW I SIT HERE AND WAIT TILL SEPTEMBER COMES ALONG SO I CAN MOVE TO NEW YORK AND GO TO COLLEGE AND HAVE FRIENDS WITH THE SAME INTERESTS AS ME.
SORRY FOR TALKING ABOUT MY LIFE. ITS PRITTY BORING. I KNOW.
DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHICH SCHOOLS ARE THE BEST FOR FASHION DESIGN AND MERCHANDISING OR RETAILING OR SOMETHING DOWN THOSE LINES. I AM READING A BOOK ON PICKING THE BEST CAREER IN FASHION.
SO FAR I SIGNED UP FOR PARSONS, MARIST, ADELPHI FOR BUSINESS, I WENT TO PRATT AND DIDN'T LIKE THE LOCATION. I AM LOOKING FOR MAORE OF A PRIVATE SCHOOL.
THANKS FOR LISTONING. YOUR COMMENTS MEAN ALLOT TO ME.

Yes, please keep this message board running. If there is going to be a second season, there will be some good candidates right here. Some would be designers, and some would be judges. And I suspect some would like to lurk in the dressing rooms on runway day.

pulgini, I'm talkin to you. The messages are showing up on other discussions. Just how much do you want me to say? You're young. You're inspired. You've figured out that dental assisting wasn't for you. Go for it. And get out of the basement. The darkness isn't good for you. Get some high-powered lighting if you have nowhere else to go. Enjoy BRAVO. And stop caring who does or doesn't appreciate your creations!! We all die alone in the end, and it's important when that time comes to be happy with what YOU did. Gotta run.

I wish that somewhere on this "post" page we could see what category we are under. What I see at the top of the page is "reply to project runway", I'd like to see where I am! Sometimes while writing a post I forget if I'm looking at "models" "designers" or what. (Short memory!! lol)

....I would like it if the site had info on how to get into all the facets of the fashion industry like make-up artist, hair stylist, fashion editor, fashion publicist, etc.....I think most people already know how the fashion model thing is done since there have been so many programs on about it....what do you think?
Hannah_Lorrae
December 13, 2004 - 12:37 PM
YES!!!!!!!! I would also like to know more about the makeup and haircare products they are using on the models. Definitely, BRAVO, give us more. A documentary on all the OTHER jobs in fashion would be nice. Or another reality show...The Other Side of Fashion...

I have a question about the "Runway Ratings" page. Are the ratings listed there the judges ratings, or the viewer ratings? I assume they are the viewer ratings, since they sometimes seem to differ from the judges picks. (For example, in Episode 3, Wendy's ratings are in the middle of the bunch, but she won the challenge.) I would like to see the judges' rankings as well as the public's. I think it would be interesting to compare them.

I was thinking the same thing. I loved Wendy's dress this time but her ranking wasn't that high. But I have to say, I wasn't sad to see Star leave, it was overdue. Her style was so far from high fashion in my opinion.

....Starr and Wendy have limited skills and I think are on the show for entertainment....notice this week that Austin's dress was unfinished...Tom Ford said in his book that many people in fashion get their jobs based on their looks and likability...he says that what got him many of his jobs....he said in the book that his first portfolio was horrible and that he studied environmental design at Parsons not fashion but he let people believe whatever they wanted when he went out looking for a job in fashion....I found that very interesting...what do you think?

My comment is actually about the forums. There are not enough individual threads. You should have categories (such as 'The Models,' 'The Designers,' etc.) as you do, but allow people to post their own subjects within each category. I believe that would allow for more conversation. When people only see 7 or so categories, it kind of limits the conversation. (I have run forums before, so I know what I am talking about. More sub-categories=more posts/conversation.) Take care.

We appreciate the suggestion, but right now the board is what it is. We'll keep the idea in mind for possible changes we might be able to make in the future.

The board is a bite confusing. well not really its quite simple. but what about if we wanted to add a thread. I don't think i've figured out if we can do that yet. otherwise it's a great website.

I'd like to see more in-depth bios on the designers... I watched episodes 1 and 3, but I didn't realize that Kara is a professional designer until I read Tim's Take. When I learned that, I wanted to read more about her in her bio... but there was none.
Also, I tried watching the interview videos on two computers, and on both, I could barely hear what the designers were saying.
Also also, I agree that I'd like to see the judges' rankings.

I had a hard time finding the web site initially. Glad it changed from /project_runway to /projectrunway. I still had to go to google.com to find it... Not sure why it doesn't come up when typing it in directly, but now that I've found it, I'll bookmark it so I can come back.
Perhaps some better coding??? Not sure why it doesn't come up when directly typed in! Glad I found this place though! Great to be able to chat about the neat stuff concerning this show! Wish I could have found it earlier...
BTW, is there going to be another sweepstakes???

Under your link for the models, if you select Melissa, the fourth model is NOT her.

I pointed out a MISTAKE on this website. Isn't this the correct thread?
If you look at the models, select Melissa, the fourth runway picture is NOT Melissa it is Olga. That would be an ERROR.

I don't know if this is the proper thread, but since there's no 'suggestions' thread, I'll assume it's the best suited.
I know there are a lot of people here who watch the show out of a love for fashion design. We understand that there is only so much time per episode, and it's regrettable that we don't get to see as much of the design process as we'd like. We always see them sketching their designs, but there's never really enough time to see all of them. I think a really great idea would be to put the designers' sketches up on the site (scan them and put them in the designers' respective sections) so we can see what they started with conceptually and then what it came out as. Just a thought, but I think it'd be really cool and wouldn't take too much effort.

I'm singing the praises of Tim's Take, here and in the other threads. Hopefully everyone is checking his column because it will enhance your viewing pleasure of Runway.
To me, Tim's Take is essential to my viewing experience. His writing is eloquent and intelligent but he doesn't talk down to the reader (who probably aren't fashion guru's like myself). He breaks down the design process and mentality and has helped me understand the designers (and judges) even more.
Each morning after a new episode I get on the computer and go straight to Tim's Take. I wish they could add a short segment on the show where Tim could do his thing!
I hope you read the boards Tim, because I love and appreciate your insight!

I agree with you totally. I'm not in the industry and Tim helps me to understand a lot of what the judges go through in making their decisions. Tim's very good on camera in this show as well. He's the bomb!!

I love the site!
One feature I would like is the capability to view all of the runway models from one episode in a slideshow fashion so that I don't have to keep clicking on each small image and then scroll down on a new refreshed page to see the full image. Yay slideshows!
Keep up the great work.

Each week the pictures of the runway fashions seem to change. The first couple weeks they were high quality but not full-length. Last week they were full-length but too small to see details. And this week's pictures are low quality to the point of rendering them useless. The still photos are useful in studying the designs and I'm sure there are higher quality images than these. Pony up! (please)
And so long as I'm being demanding... maybe some back views? Close ups? Details about the accessories? Hair? Shoes? Sketches? There is so much more content that this website could offer to make it a truly useful and engaging resource.

Tim's take is the best part of the website. His insight always clears up for me why the judges thought a certain way and such. Entertaining and informative, what a website should be!
Plus, I would love Tim to replace Heidi as the host.

Hum, I didn't know where to put that... I wanted to talk about the auctions. That goes like crazy ! people are bidding and bidding. I hope you guys can wear the clothes you "win" - they're built in for models.
Anyway, the other "funny" thing is that many times, the same person bets upon itself again. And again. And Again, and again, again... So, like X bet $125.00 the first time. And somehow, only seeing X on the bidding history, the price is now at $185.00. Nobody challenged that person ! Well, obviously X likes to spend money - and the more the better. Interesting approach...
Also, I was wondering why not all the designs are on auction. For example, this week, Kevin's and Rob's wedding gowns are not on auction, while all the others are. What happened to these gowns ?

Not sure what red background you're talking about. The messages should still be white, with red around the borders.
The pictures on the site each week represent the best quality images available.
