I posted last night in reply to Notevayas and others who were guessing the outcome of this episode. But I will say it again.
I love QE because there is always variety in their episodes. We went from a heart wrenching episode involving a military family, a wedding, tears all around to last night's episode with Brian and Rachel and a football game.
It is always fun to see what the Fab Five will come up with for the straight guys.
I especially liked Jai in the kitchen with Ted and Brian making the chipotle sauce for the buffalo.
Thom's interior design was inspired, as always--breaking up the front room with the sofa and setting up his and her workstations in their office.
Loved the haircut and it was nice NOT to have to see it done this time. Instead Kyan and Brian were busy at other things. And I love (as I've said so often) how Kyan LISTENS to both the straight guy and his woman. The earth friendly grooming products and teaching Brian how to apply fragrance were a very nice touch. I hope many men and women learned something from the fragrance demo. There are few things worse than smelling someone coming from miles away, even if the fragrance is a pleasant one.
Jai's helping Brian with the flowers was so cool.
And I thought Carson's outfit for the game was outstanding!
And to have the suspense of a yes or no--that seemed very real and unscripted--Rachel almost didn't make it down to the field!
Cheers,

Hi Regularfoot..
Over the past year you have only posted half a dozen times??
And half of the them were on Celebrity Poker?
Are there more people who post who are also Board Moderators? Or are you just filling in?
This may be OT (not overtime.. off topic!)
But I am more interested in the BBB than Brian or football!

Hi RegularFoot!! I haven't seen you before so I'm just gonna say Hi before returning to my post...
I'm sorry, Jai looked like a school boy and it didn't really work for him. Leather jacket+school boy=nuh uh. And during the cooking with Ted, dark gray goes better with pink, not elephant gray.
The rest of the guys looked gorgeous as always. Carson, honey, help Jai. He needs help!
I like the idea of the "Marry Me" t-shirt. Not the way I would want to be proposed to, but good for the setting that he created.
It was a complete transformation from the before to the after. He looks cute. Now if only he would take a little more time to shave so he doesn't come close to taking his lip off again.
Okay I never would have thought that soap would be good to fill in holes in walls, I know what I'm doing when it comes time for me to move out!
Ted: "We've never made over the King of the Underworld before."
Thom: "Can we have all the heterosexual people come to the office?"
Lady: "His idea of romance is I get the first burger at the tailgate party."
Ted: "So we're holding your dirty underwear right now?" Carson: "And you're wearing it!"
Brian: "I love her because she's the other part of me."
Thom: "I want a smooch from the ladies and I'm not talking about you girls."
Thom: "Between this and the window treatment, if I were the kids, I'd run away."
Brian: "I can't imagine having more fun! I feel like Captain Kirk!"
Kyan: "I think it smells like your Aunt Susie."
Jai: "A man and his electronics."
Thom: "Gay bar. Straight bar."
Thom: "We're not very good at this. We're like whoo"
Brian: "Oh, I have six beers to drink."
Ted: "You're making Brian arrange flowers?" Carson: "That is so gay."
Kyan: "When they squeal like a little girl, you know they love it."
Rachel: "Its going to beep and vibrate when its getting close?"
Jai: "You're ruining the proposal! Just get it out there!"
Brian: "I got 78,000 witnesses!"
Fab5: "J-E-T-S JETS!"

SignLady, you are so dead on with your observations of the show. We really really enjoyed it,and loved the fact of the blended family... (remember, in our household of three-- Mulletman is stepdad to Karly, having raised her since age 3)and the proposal at the Jets game was amazing. (the connections Bravo and the F5 have just don't stop showing themselves, huh?)
AS you saw also in our ep, we have a home office, and I loved the set up that Thom picked for them. I think it may be next on our list.
On another note, you observe perfectly. Kyan is the most incredible man to talk with, he looks deep into your eyes and not only LISTENS to every word you say, but HEARS you. He really seems to genuinely CARE when he has a conversation with you. As for Brian, it was great..let's hope he doesn't have a past as an axe murderer, hahaha

Shame! That man was utterly guileless! Of course the most frightening horror movies show the innocence of true evil..
JUST KIDDING!
But Carson should have really given the fiance a cheerleading outfit.. It would have gone with Thom's bedroom decor! Ah well.. there's always the honeymoon..

Wow, a new/substitute BBoardBoss! It's a a pleasure to meet you. If our regular BBoardBoss is sick, please tell them to get well soon.
Thanks for putting up the Brian M. board
Brian's show was a great show! It reminded me of the Jeff Toale episode on an energizer bunny level. Brian was very likeable and his feelings for his soon-to-be-wife were evident. Their shared love of football, though a sport I could do without, was not so overwhelming that it was a turnoff. And does Brian ever know how to follow directions! BAM BAM BAM down the line - 1, 2, 3...perfect!
Thank you Kyan for doing something with the hair! He looked MUCH better afterwards.
Thank you Thom for replacing the cold hospital walls with elegant warmth - now it's a home.
Thank you Brian's family for realizing that Thom IS a genius, lol

I'm sorry, I just have to laugh at this statement. I'll bet you that as I wander through the various message boards I'll see a few people saying somthing like, "Why didn't we get to see Brian get his hair cut!!" LOL! Can't please everyone, I suppose.
I'll say again what I said in the other threads...
I live in a sports-crazy town, so I'm not surprised to see this kind of fandom! And, like Thom, I've only tailgated at concerts, but I know many that do it before the games. Personally, I'm not sure if I would like that public of a proposal, but she seemed to like it. From the previews, it looked like she was going to say 'no', but while watching the episode it seemed that she would say 'yes'.
Carson, I love you more than my luggage, but you looked very sloppy with that untucked shirt! IMO, if you're wearing a sweater over a shirt, the shirt is to be tucked in!! Also, in your hip tip, unless you have need to burn off your fingerprints, I would not make a habit of dipping my fingers in a jar of bleach!
I liked this episode. Nice guy - nice family. I'll write more later.

Hmmm, I didn't notice that as much, but I did notice that Kyan appeared to think that doing the proposal that way was a really bad idea and was awfully quiet while watching it happen.
Since we're talking about the episode, I'll mention a couple of major faux pau by our dear Carson! First - tuck in that shirt!!! Second - one does not stick ones fingers in a jar of bleach! Yikes!

Kyan seems to truly have more depth than I wanted to admit.. (I just have Major aversion to salon culture.. hated BlowOut) Anywayhow, after he was so moved by the romance of Ray and Maria, watching a proposal on a football field must have seemed incredibly tacky..
As for Carson.. I think he was using his clothing to express his joy at ironing juvenile patches onto beige khaki's and customizing football jerseys. His talents were so wasted! And I didn't notice his desperate bid to go on medical leave.. but who could blame him?

I thought this episode was extremely cute! It left me feeling good and happy. I loved Brian's cheerfulness and enthusiasm. I was amazed at how good he looked after his haircut! He looked quite hot. He and Rachel were a cute couple and they seemed to be a great family along with their daughters. I'm glad Brian was able to convince Rachel to go onto the field. Whew! On a side note, I'm excited to see the next 2 episodes of QE with the Fab 5 in England! I would love to visit England someday so it'll be fun to see our guys there.

Buffalo was a great choice for grilling, not only for the significance of the other team but 'cuz as was explained in the Hip Tips, buffalo is much healthier than beef. And I think it is also sweeter tasting.

Brian, this is notevayas.. I'm glad you don't have my real name because I've been having quite a bit of fun poking fun at your episode and you are about 3 times my size.. But I'd like you to know that it was all in fun anyway. I would feel very badly if you or your pretty fiance or lovely daughters were the slightest bit upset by anything I said. I think my motivation was my visceral dislike of football and it contributed to my increduality that anyone would want to make a wedding proposal in such a setting.

I think that the posts are for the most part rather positive. Everyone has an opinion, it is all in fun, and some of the posts are quite funny. We tend to take it all in stride.
There are some who do not see what football is all about, and some do not like sports of any kind, but keep this in mind: nearly all of our Presidents were avid sportsman, and many had a direct effect on modern day football. Team sports can also help to keep kids/teens off drugs. We are big supporters of our local YMCA.
As for the thought of proposing on the field, well, it is the memory of a lifetime for us because we are season ticket holders and go to every home game. Every time we go we are visiting the exact spot where I proposed. All the people in the stands are kind of like a big, extended family. By the way, thanks and a big shout out to the New York Jets who showed us that they are more than just a football team, they are a first-class organization.
p.s.-no date set as of yet, but we have been looking at locations for our wedding. We have thought about having it on Block Island.
One more thing, I do not know as much about the show as most here, so I wanted to ask: how many episodes have a guest star? Ours had a former Jet, Marty Lyons (also a first-class guy)

Hi Brian. Enjoyed your episode.
There have been a few episodes that have had guest stars. Phil Gordon from "Celebrity Poker Showdown" guested on the John S. episode. Money Expert Suze Orman was on the John W. episode. Designer John Varvatos was on with Ross M. I'm sure there have been more, but those came immediately to mind.

Oh, this episode reminded me so much of my late brother-in-law who loved football so much and the Vikings when they were doing good, ha!
Okay, I noticed the return of something I love that hasn't been seen in awhile. THE FASHION SHOW WITH THE GUYS ON THE BED! I was so happy to see this again-like a comfort zone thing I don't know!
I liked the fragrence smells with Kyan-did he say Sandelwood was his favorite? Anyway, as much as I love to see Kyan cut the hair with SG's and this was a wonderful transformation it's nice to see them do other things too!
Like Jai cooking with Ted-I really liked that too though I like my meat more well done.
And Thom's work as always is just wonderful! The two offices were great and I liked that he had the Jets sheets still for them as they are avid football fans. I have tried to watch the sport but like Thom my tailgating has been at rock concerts.
And I thought Carson's "Marry Me" shirt was great. That's what I love about the guys they come up with these great ideas-my sister called after the show and said "That tip that Thom had with the soap I'm gonna try that!"
Oh and one last thing-did anybody see when Kyan was wearing cheese on his head-like the Green Bay Packer fans do? Kyan a Packer fan? Well Thom said to Kyan in the John W. episode that Kyan was more of a packer! Lol!
Good Episode and I'm really looking forward to the episodes in London!

I thought the exact same thing. In the early Eps we could catch little glimpses of them being sweet to each other, like a peck on the cheek or Kyan playing with Thom's hair. I've missed that lately.

Even though I've only been to a few SF Giants, Oakland A's games & my first & only Angels game when I was ten (not a post-season game unfortunately), I understand better why it was so personal to get engaged at the stadium. And like Ted said, "this family has the best energy, they're so cool." And Thom said, "you guys, this is the best tour anybody's ever done."

Okay, to be honest, I looked at the episode summary and my heart sank; I thought, "Oh, Lord, too gimmicky." But it came out really well, mainly because the family was so low-key and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. A little heavy on the Jets paraphenalia in the end, but fun.

Discuss it all here.
So there you are, BBB. *We've found the perp.* Better late than never. I will let you off with just a warning this time, but if it happens again, Kyan the cop will have to take you into custody. So don't make it happen again, because I won't share Kyan like that!
In the Fabmobile, I noticed that Kyan's teeth are looking great these days. I was fine with the scene where the SG used the Wh*teStr*ps because Kyan didn't have to hawk them. (That had become old fast.) I also noticed how nice and neat his hair looked, and zoned out a bit, thinking of creative ways to muss it up! When Ky was in the SG's bathroom and found the bath brushes, he said "One for the back and one for the crack." The one for the crack looked uncomfortable. I don't use those bath puffs that come with body wash because they're a bit rough inside my nether regions. I need a gentle touch there, if you get my drift, Kyan. I had been wondering if those Fructis products were any good, but maybe I'll pass on it because it looked like that was the brand of product that Kyan was dissing when he said it smelled like bubblegum. Hmm, Garnier makes that stuff, and isn't Garnier a subsidiary of L'Oreal? Ghod, Ky looks luscious in double-tees! It's a casual, young rock look. When he was helping the SG pick out a scent, he said about the sandalwood, "That's one of my favorites!" Just like that foot and leg massage, etc. that I gave him in "Once In A Blue Moon"! I wonder if he read it, or if it's just a case of life imitating art. Okay now all you naysayers out there may try to point out that when Ky smelled it on the SG, he said, "I'm not loving it.", but that was simply because he wasn't loving it on Brian. When Kyan was in the bed during the SG's fashion show, my mind wandered. He wore jeans during the reveal (as well as on the day I met him!!! ).
My favorite Ted line was, "Don't look! That's a parent's undergarment." I liked how he made steaks only for himself and the 2 guys at the store.
My favorite Jai line was when he held up the nosehair trimmer and said, "Is that a female pleasuring device?" The flower arranging session was informative. Jai's creative proposal idea was just perfect for these two. Jai was also such a cute little kitchen helper for Ted.
I didn't dig Carson's sweater. From far away, it looked like he'd spilled something all over the front of it. He was sniffing the used man-panties, as usual.
Thom sure put down the SG's living room furniture, but I didn't think it was that tragic. I do agree with his opinion of the office furniture. The best thing Thom did there was improving that room. In the living room, I think the new darker walls really added a warm, comforting ambiance.
Although I don't care squat about sports, I found the show to be not bad at all. They could have shown the SG getting his hair cut. He is lucky to have such a fun-loving GF who's nearly as into sports as he is, and seems nice to his daughter. The show would've been even better with a Kyan Hip Tip that wasn't recycled.

Hi Brian! Let me ask what's probably a really stupid question - was the game televised? And if it was, did they just block out the proposal parts so that it wouldn't give away the QE episode before it aired? Is it glaringly obvious that I don't know a thing about how football works????

Actually, Jai's Girl, when I was watching the show, all I could think about was, "They have Jai dressed like a math teacher, gross." I'm not kidding; all the male math teachers at the school I teach at dress with the tie, button down shirt and jacket look to be "cool". *shaking head* It's just ALL wrong. But, the tee-shirt at the recap looked great, so whoever is dressing him for that should kindly continue. He is just too young and beautiful to be dressed like a middle-aged man who's attempting to hang on to his youth.
I like the Straight Guy though; he seemed very enthusiastic and had a positive spirit.
And since I'm determined to get through one post without b*tching about the lack of true interaction between the guys, which I still want to blame on the director for fear of believing the guys don't really care much about each other anymore, I will shut up now.
But thanks for putting into words what I was thinking about the wardrobe choices.

All Jet games are televised in the local markets; if the Jets play Miami, then the game is televised in New York and Florida. Sunday, Thursday, and Monday night games are televised nationaly. They rarely broadcast any halftime event.
...and I know less about message boards than you know about football so we are even. In fact, I'm on your turf now!

On his shirt?! It looked like a wolf or a coyote to me. Never would have thought about a cowboy on a horse! Really?

Thanks! That makes sense, that they don't broadcast all the halftime stuff. And for the record you're doing just fine with this message board thing! I find this an unusually confusing board, too.

Okay, now I'm going to have to go look at that shirt again. And see what on earth it was that looked like antlers to me, after I figured out it wasn't Toto or the Wicked Witch.

Hey, Brian! I always get excited when I see the SG's posting! You and Rachel are wonderful (and your daughters are gorgeous!). I had a tough week and your episode really helped to cheer me up. Just like Thom, I was totally ferklempt! Congratulations to you and your fiance'. I wish you blue skies, green lights, love, money, and health....and I suppose I'd better throw in something about Jets having a winning season or whatever (can you tell I'm not much of a sports fan?!?!....but my late husband LOVED football!)

We had the time of our lives. Thanks to everyone for such nice posts about our episode. I am new to the message board scene so bear with me please.
ooo! Hey guys! Congratulations on your engagement! Your episode was GREAT! So we had a sad (but good) one then a very happy and good one back to back - that's pretty solid.
Learn the boards fast, or better yet, get your daughters' help...kids are naturals with electronics. You're about to get a ton of questions from board members!
Take care

Brian, you've been greeted by two of my best buddies on this board (Deb & TTB). In fact, TTB and I coincidentally joined the board on exactly the same day more than a year ago. If you stick around, you won't regret it. There are some really nice folks here.

Thanks for your kind words, and I am sorry to hear about your week, you just hang in there-those tough times are going to smooth over.
Believe me when I tell you that Rachel and I have been through a lot as well. Just remember, when the pressure is on, pressure also makes diamonds.

Brian,
Congratulations on your engagement!
thank you for joining us. Now what I **really** want to hear from you is all the good stuff that we _didn't_ see on tv. What funny, cute, endearing things did our boys do that ending up on the cutting room floor? What are the guys _really_ like? How do they interact? Did we miss any good jokes? Where there any bleeps?
come on! give us the scoop. pleeeeeeze?

Oh I love that!!! That's so better than the "When the going gets tough, the tough get going"
My question (and you will most likely get bombarded with questions, if we start asking too many questions and you get flustered, just smack us and we'll calm down) is which of the guys did you feel that you were able to relate the most to? To me it seemed like you weren't really comfortable with Kyan, yet you had the most fun with Thom ("I can't imagine having any more fun! This is great! I feel like Captain Kirk!").

Well now, that is a way of looking at things that I like! I've never heard that before, but I'm adopting it into my regular expressions.
Welcome to the boards! And congrats to you and Rachel!
