Bravo is producing a special CAST REUNION episode of Project Runway and want to hear what questions YOU want the designers to answer!
Thank you for your questions. This post is now closed.

I would ask the following:
What type of challenge do you feel would have allowed the Project Runway participants to design and construct a single garment that demonstrated their skills and individuality?
paillette
January 28, 2005 - 02:05 PM
Of the garments you produced on PR, which one was your favorite and why? Which challenge forced you to grow the most, to expand your personal idiom? Which garment was closest to your aesthetic outside the show?
paillette
January 28, 2005 - 02:06 PM
Do you regret your runway "confession" that you do not sew well?
Are your designs available outside Houston?
nabakov5
January 28, 2005 - 02:52 PM
Now that you know how the show works and how it was presented on television, would you do it all over again? Has your business increased since your appearance on the show?
birdaileen
January 28, 2005 - 02:55 PM
What made certain models preferable over others? Did you develop a 'favorite' model to work with, and if so, why? Did the most desirable model change depending on the challenge?
birdaileen
January 28, 2005 - 03:00 PM
What do you see as the main goal of this level of fashion? To be widely marketable? To make a statement? To do something which hasn't been done before? TO be wearable? In other words, is it more about art, or more about innovative practicality?
birdaileen
January 28, 2005 - 03:02 PM
Ideally, who should be able to wear what you design? Models, regular women, young women, older women? How do you create something which appeals to more than the elite of body and social class?
ericats
January 28, 2005 - 03:03 PM
Wendy:
Do you feel that you went as far as you did on the show because you made certain other designers look bad or is was it based on the strength of your designs? Do you have any regrets about the "strategies" that you used on the show?
ericats
January 28, 2005 - 03:06 PM
Nora:
If you could go back in time knowing what you now know, how would you design Melissa's wedding dress?
birdaileen
January 28, 2005 - 03:46 PM
Jay:
You have a lot of fans who say you should have won more of the challenges, specifically the Banana Republic, rock n' roll, wedding dress, and swimsuit challenges, to name a few. What do you think about your design compared to those which won?
gerty1
January 28, 2005 - 03:55 PM
Question for Kara: If Melissa had been your model for the wedding dress episode and had given you the same instructions she gave Nora, what kind of design would you have come up with that would have made her happy and still been true to your integrity as a designer? Thank you!
birdaileen
January 28, 2005 - 03:58 PM
Austin:
In the Rock and Roll challenge, Sarah said you strayed from the original design you pitched to her. Do you think that the way your design evolved was reasonable, given what you two had discussed? Were you happy with what you produced in the end, and do you think it still fit the role of a rockstar outfit?
birdaileen
January 28, 2005 - 04:02 PM
Austin:
During the Wedding Dress challenge, Heidi said your job was to create the dress of the client's dreams, whether traditional white or a 'red mini-skirt.' But when you followed your model's wishes for an unconventional gown, you faced criticism because the end product did not look like a wedding dress. Do you think you had a difficult time reconciling your model's taste with yours, or do you think the directions were perhaps unclear?
birdaileen
January 28, 2005 - 04:08 PM
Austin:
Your banana republic dress is a heavy favorite on the boards and won the online rating competition. Many fans of the show think it was unfairly criticized and should have won, even those who do not hold you as a favorite in general. Is this more important to you-- winning in public opinion-- than having 'won' the challenge? Who do you ultimately design to please?

January 28, 2005 - 04:10 PM
Question for Mario:
You were eliminated not so much for the quality of your Envy dress design (which I thought was sleek and sexy), but for your apparent poor work ethic. Did the message hit home? Have your work habits changed since your appearance on the show?
birdaileen
January 28, 2005 - 04:12 PM
Robert:
In the 2055 episode, some of your fellow contestants alleged that you were progressing in the competition more due to your quick wit and clever charm than due to the strength of your designs. What do you think? Did you sweet-talk your way into making it through eliminations?
birdaileen
January 28, 2005 - 04:15 PM
Nora:
Maturity seemed to be an issue for you on the show-- you lost your cool during the collaboration challenge and became defensive in the wedding dress challenge the next week. Do you think these incidents showed that you need a little more experience and maturity, or are there extenuating circumstances to explain your behavior?
birdaileen
January 28, 2005 - 04:16 PM
To All:
Please discuss each elimination-- did the 'right' person go each week? Did the right person win?
birdaileen
January 28, 2005 - 04:20 PM
Kevin:
How much do you think personality played into the eliminations? Do you think that the fact that you are relatively quiet and passive may have hurt your chances of staying longer in place of someone more 'dramatic' or 'television-friendly'?
birdaileen
January 28, 2005 - 04:32 PM
Kevin:
Please clear up the Russian Mail-Order Bride profile. Come on, is that really yours? Did working with Olga on the wedding dress challenge change your mind about wanting a russian bride?

My Question is for Jay, and Austin:
Having flamboyant personalties makes you both stand out and is a sign of being highly creative ...but do you feel that edgy approach has the potential to hold you back moving forward into the corporate world of high fashion?

January 28, 2005 - 05:19 PM
This Question is for everyone:
What would have been your dream challenge on the show OR was any of the challenges your dream challenge? Thanks! Becky

To all,
On the boards different ideas have been posted as to how PR should conduct it's challenges and elimination, if any. Public points, like in American Idol, seemed a popular view. How would you liked to have seen PR run if you would make any changes at all?

To submit a question for consideration, post it to this topic THIS WEEKEND ONLY! On Monday afternoon, we'll pass the best questions along to the producers for their consideration. Be sure to state clearly who your question is intended for.
Kevin,
I don't know if you've kept track of the Bravo PR boards but did you know that you have an "I-Want-to-Date-Kevin" bunch of groupies who would love for you to give american women a chance? Oh, and could you speak in French please!

Austin,
I'm SO glad you and Vanessa are friends! I've seen Vanessa's site and her clothes are lovely! My question is, are you working on your own site or do you have one? Do you have a line of clothing ready for the market? And would any of it be affordable for the average women? Your clothes are PERFECT for special ocassions!

Kara,
At the point where they are taking these questions, the general consensus is that you have it in the bag and I agree. On that note, if you have indeed won, at what point did you realize that it was your's to take? If you haven't won (at which I would be truly shocked), what went through your mind upon finding out?

To ALL:
"Twists" seem to have played a big role in Project Runway, from the structure of the challenges to the judges' decisions for episode winners and losers, and even with regard to the behavior of your fellow designers. What, for you, was the most surprising moment of the competition?

To DANIEL:
Many viewers wish they could have seen more of your work. Having looked back at this season of Project Runway, which of the challenges do you think you really would have shined in had you stayed in the competition? Why?

THIS FIRST QUESTION IS FOR ALL THE DESIGNERS, JUDGES, AND HOST TO RESPOND TO. THE OTHER QUESTIONS ARE FOR THE DESIGNERS
BECAUSE OF THE LIMITATIONS OF PROJECT RUNWAY BEING AN HOUR LONG SHOW AND BECAUSE OF THE SELECT EDITING,IS THERE ANY FOOTAGE THAT WAS NOT SHOWN TO THE VIEWERS THAT WOULD GIVE AN EVEN CLEARER VISION OF YOU, YOUR CONCEPTS, YOUR DESIGNS. COULD WE SEE YOUR FILM SELECTION ?
I BET BLOOPERS WOULD BE FUN TOO. YOU ALL MAY BE WONDERFUL DESIGNERS, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU ARE ACTORS.
THE CAST ON THIS SHOW BECAME AN IMPORTANT WEEKLY EVENT OF DISCUSIONS AND DEBATES IN OUR FAMILY....WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A FUTURE DESIGNER ON AN UPCOMING PROJECT RUNWAY THAT YOU WISHED YOU HAD RECEIVED?
WHAT WAS YOUR SECURITY BLANKET THROUGH THIS COMPETITION?
HOW MANY COMPETITIONS DID YOU HAVE TO COMPLETE IN A WEEK?
IF YOU WERE THE PRODUCERS OF PR WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY?
LET'S SAY YOU WON THE FIRST PRIZE. HOW WOULD YOU DEVELOP YOUR DESIGN COMPANY WITH THAT CASH PRIZE?

If you could dress anyone for the upcoming Academy Awards, who would it be and why?
Also, to ALL:
Here is a question centering on the idea of ENVY... Aside from your own designs that you created for Project Runway, what is one piece from the competition that you *wish* you had created?

Who, if anyone, from among the contestants could you see yourself partnering with in business, because of creative, philosophical, personality or working style similarities ... or differences for that matter?

Wendy:
Did you watch PR when it aired? If so were you surprised by how negative and nasty you came across? Were you bombarded at home with negative emails in regards to your sneaky, malicious behavior? Did you ever log on to read the masses of "I hate Wendy" posts on the message boards? Would you have done anything different or is this always how you handle yourself in difficult situations?

Granted, Morgan has a great walk, but was it really worth all the drama?

January 28, 2005 - 08:04 PM
To all the designers:
1. Where do you see yourself, careerwise, 5 years from now?
2. Do you think the Project Runway challenges did a good job of really determining who the best designer was? If not, how would you change the challenges (e.g., fewer "teamwork" challenges and maybe the inclusion of challenges where you got to work with an actual fashion house)?
3. Just to turn the tables around on the judges (which would include Heidi), what is your opinion of them?
4. Vanessa mentioned this in an online interview, but were any of you disappointed with the opportunities that actually arose out of doing this show? (I highly doubt this question will be asked.)
5. Which 3 designers do you believe deserved to make it to NY Fashion week? Why?

Which outfit that you produced did you think was the LEAST appealing, the LEAST well made? And why?

January 28, 2005 - 09:02 PM
Question for the designers:
Over the years, I've heard and myself have made a lot of complaints about garments being designed for young models, not real women. That is, they are thin, much taller than average women and often boyish in their lack of feminine shape. In your quest to become more commercially appealing to more figures (be they surgically enhanced or not), how does your work take into account these variations or how do you think your designs might evolve by consideration of how you might be sold to women who aren't size 2 or less and aren't 5'10"?
PaleFire76
January 28, 2005 - 09:37 PM
To Starr: Have you since gone back to working for your prior law firm? Also, according to what you said in episode 1, your parents did not even know you were on Project Runway. What did they think after seeing you on PR?
To Jay: What did your job duties in the porn industry entail?

January 28, 2005 - 09:37 PM
Wendy:
How has your appearance on PR helped or hurt your career? How did you deal with being assigned the phrase "poorly constructed" more often than the other designers?
To all designers:
How did you feel you all helped each other on the show? What did you learn from each other in terms of creativity and business acumen?
PaleFire76
January 28, 2005 - 09:50 PM
To Austin: Love the lipgloss! What's your favorite brand? Also, were you the only designer who had his hair and makeup done by the Loreal people?
To Robert: Any luck in rekindling your relationship with Alexandra since the show has aired?
To Wendy: Although in episode 7 you mocked some of the designers for their allegedly psuedo-intellectual banter in their efforts to prepare for the judging session, do you think you learned anything from the other designers? If so, who did you learn the most from and what did you learn from him/her?
To Vanessa: Describe the look of your line had you made it to NY Fashion week.
To Mario: You and Jay were friends on the show. Have you kept in touch? Have you had a chance to visit his shop?

Question For Tim
You were the most creditable and believable asset on the show. Have you thought of writing a book or being on another show on fashion ?

January 29, 2005 - 08:19 AM
This question is for Kara:
I'm a great admirer of your designs! During the course of the show, you had some very experienced and successful designers judge your work, (Michael Kors, Betsey Johnson, etc) and I noticed you were very good at thanking them by name during your short period on the runway, were you ever able to have any interaction with those designers aside from the runway judging? Like, were you ever able to get advice from them about running a high profile design business, or how best to market yourself?
Thanks,
Diana

To Nora-- How did you get your start? I'm from Cheshire too and, since the town's so small, I was wondering how you got out there!
To anyone-- What are some ways to get involved with fashion as you have? I know that most of you are on the younger side, so how do you get known like this so early on?

January 29, 2005 - 09:30 AM
Your design portfolio throughout the show was probably the most coherent of all the designers. Who do you design for? How old is your ideal client, what does she do and how does she live? Do you design everyday garments, or mostly special-occasion dresses?
paillette
January 29, 2005 - 10:11 AM
How did you feel, and what ran through your mind, when you read Austin's name in the NYPost and realised that he, with Melissa's help, had won the swimsuit challenge?
You own a vintage store, yet your design aesthetic is not vintage at all, but extremely modern and innovative. Do you have a favorite period in vintage clothing? Do you take significant inspiration from the past?

Yes, Kevin, you do have a very loyal following of women who not only love your designs but also love your personality and personal style, me being included. Would you reconsider the appeal of American women, and would you please please speak French, and give your loyal fans a bit of a thrill? thanks, Cat
