Have you ever heard of this magazine before? I picked up an old issue(Nov. 24, 2003) and there was my fave Fab 5 on the cover in color!!! What a handsome side profile face photo!!
Thom's article was about the finalization w/ Pier One...
Ted and Car are also featured in this magazine(no photos)
Ted(on getting recognized in public) did a quote on page 11..." God, the power of television compared to the power of magazines..."
Car's mention(p. 21) was in the "Heat Index" just a siginng with US Weekly magazine-2 monthly fashion columns...

Depoetic has survived the hurricanes and wanted me to pass along this tidbit: Ted and Jai are guest commentators on a VH1 special called "Awesomely Bad Celebrity Fashion". She said the guys are hysterically funny on it so check your t.v. schedules and prepare to have a good laugh. Gotta love that girl......she's still watching out for us!

Good to hear from De again. I also have a heads up--saw a show on Bravo last night called "It's Good to be ...." and there are several categories. Last night at QE's usual time was "It's good to be Queer" 1 hour, 20 reasons it's good, and commentary from a variety of gays and lesbians.
Ted and Jai (coincidence?) were commentators on this show and were also very funny. I don't think I've ever seen Jai so funny--usually he is just sensitive. And Ted had some interesting comments, especially in regard to real estate. Keep your eyes peeled and see if you can catch it again--I think the series is running all week during prime time.

P.S., Notey,
If you are reading here, I agree with you about Will and Grace. I've given up on the reruns after only 3 weeks. The dialog is hysterical but I really DON'T like any of the characters that much. Too neurotic! And 'Karen's' voice just makes me crazy. Sorta the same way Fran Drescher's voice did--never could stand the Nanny, either.

I'm sure that, individually. the actors are fine people, it's just that both shows are so divorced from reality for most people that the comedy, while clever, falls flat. It's very rare that an ensemble transcends the material. The Fab 5, while each special, are such an ensemble. The choicest chosen family!
Of course, I watched the Bravo shows about what is great about Queer and 30.. which I will BE next year. Ted and Jai and Graham Norton were funny on both shows. Jay McCarroll from Project Runway was hilarious on the 30 show. Austin from Runway was amusing, at least in his manner of dress. I did not understand at all why the #1 Great thing about being gay turned out to be Cher. I would have voted for sex, myself. I really think many straight guys are missing out. The #1 great thing about 30 was thankfully not Cher who must be 50ish, but stupidly it was the fact that one was not 40 yet. That lacked imagination. I think the best thing about 30 is that one finally has a bit of finesse in the romance department. I mean there are some things that need more practice than a 20 year old should have anywayhow...

Since I'm double 30 I didn't watch that one. But I would have to agree with you that 'not 40 yet' is VERY unimaginative. I would say the greatest thing about 30 is you're half way to 60 hey, it ain't been that bad so far, surprisingly.
As for Cher-- I'm betting on the far side of 50--gonna go look it up if she has the nerve to tell. Yep! Born May 20, 1946--seeing 60 next May! G-d--I wish my 60 year old mind and attitude and joy would fit into her 59 year old body! Or maybe not--I'm not into surgery.

I posted on the Fab forum first so oops I guess people did see it! Yes, Jai was funny! I also had to watch the blonde one since I was born one but I'm not one of those buxom Pam Anderson babes! I also enjoyed the blonde names which thanks to my mother I have one of those and then at the end of that they show Carson and then said Kressley! Welcome to the club, Carson!
I'm gonna have to check out the other "Great Things" shows. I'm sure a marathon of these will be coming up.

I'm not sure about that. He was a journalism professor at Columbia College in Chicago, and was the head of that department. So unless he just decided on a radical career change...

I think that is basically what happened. God knows what his new career actually involves, though.

Let's keep good thoughts for the success of Ted's book and the continued success of QE. WE LOVE YOU, TED XOXO

And I just have to say that I bought it - and it's WELL worth the $! I love to cook but I'm very hit-or-miss about it, and the three things I've made so far were just wonderful. Mac & cheese, mushroom risotto, and this REALLY great pasta with garlic, olive oil, asaigo (asiago?) cheese and broccoli. The recipes are just complicated enough to be fun, he explains everything very well, and the food was incredibly good. Plus, it's a fun read.
