Hello, hello, everyone!!! Hi, Isa, hi tomasulo, hey Boss!!!
Geez, the 3rd Fab5 forum season, yaaay!!! *snaps for us* lol
But I'm sorry for the silly question, but the other forum (#2) got shut down, right? So this means that there's a limit of pages on a forum? Mmm... Just curious, guys!
It's great to talk to you!!!!!
Lots of huggies and thanks so much for the site link, Isa!

I don't really know if there's a limit of the number of pages per thread. I think they shut the old one down simply because they got a new thread started so there's no reason for us to be posting on the old one.

It's a good thought! lol I only asked because I've been on a board once and the forum locked up at the 13th page... Weird, huh? Maybe the moderator of that site had some kind of supersticion with the number 13! lol Kiddin'! *giggles*
But it's very good to start a new one and see it grow as much as the old one, don't you think?!?

You are a Tedelicious fan, aren't you?? If so, I was just thinking how my fave, Thommie made your Ted laugh. Bravo Twins, (Thommie picked up & swung Ted), and Butch eppy., naughty mouth, Thommie said ..."she so wants to sleep with him...and...."she's like meet me in the bathroom...." and then Ted laughed in the background. Funny...did you see Andrew Lane eppy., Ted almost got clobbered with lobster. He laughed and looked at the camera.

I think what the guys would most appreciate is hearing how the show has affected you and your life. Just open your heart and honestly share your feelings. I don't think you need to worry about impressing them or shocking them...at this point in their lives, they've probably seen it all, but I doubt that they ever tire of hearing how they have made positive changes in the lives of their fans.

October 6, 2004 (for those who remember, that is the day before my birthday)
Dear Jai~
There are several ways I could start this. First by saying that I absolutely love Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and you are totally the best; or I could start it by saying that you must get thousands of fan letters a day so I don't expect you to respond to this.
My name is JG (I put my real name there) and I am a recently converted QE fan. Since I live in Washington, I haven't been able to see you in Zanna, Don't! or RENT, though I really wish I could. I joined the hoards of fans a month and a half (now five months) ago and I've met so many people who love you guys.
I don't know if you've been reading the posts on the QE message boards, but we've acquired nicknames based on who our favorite guy is. Your fans are called Angels or Mimis (depending on who you talk to), Kyan's are called Kyanites, Carson's are called CITs (Carson in Training), Ted's are called Teddy Grahams, and Thom's? Well, I'll just say that Thom has a lot of wives. One of the wives got a call from Thom and she was so excited she was speechless. She got on the boards and told us about it and we all started thinking about what we would say if our fave guy called us, we still don't know.
I love how you went after your dream of being a performer! I'm currently attending Blah blah blah University to get a degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing Management and a minor in Communication. I love working with people so I want to incorporate my love of marketing with my love of marine biology and become a marketing executive for one of the SeaWorld theme parks.
Wow! I was just thinking that since tomorrow is my 19th birthday, the best gift I could get would be to meet you. Wow. No one ever told me I didn't dream big! In my mind, I see you driving through the tiny town where I live, getting someone to let you in the building (you need a key), hopefully taking the elevator (7 flights of stairs are not fun!) and knocking on my door. I'd open the door and be bombarded with your beautiful smile and I might even start crying. Whew! OK, I'm done dreaming. Though I would like to meet you!
Can I ask a question? Why doesn't the Fab 5 ever come to the West Coast? There are many people over here that love you, so why do you only make yourselves available to the fans east of Texas?
I'll give you my contact info, you know, just in case.
Lovin' ya in Washington,
(my signature)
JG

Design_Daddy is right in suggesting that you not hope for a response. It will disappoint you if you expect one and they don't respond, or it will surprise you if you don't expect one and they do respond. Jai was completely sweet to respond to my letter that I quoted above with a Phone Call, unfortunately while I was driving on the road.
If anyone else has anything to add, please do.

A Life in the Day: Carson Kressley
The American TV personality Carson Kressley, 36, is also a nationally ranked equestrian. He was a design director for Polo Ralph Lauren before becoming the fashion consultant on the US reality show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. He lives alone in Manhattan, New York City
"I'd prefer to get up at the crack of noon, but my job has me getting up at 6. My waking thought is: "Who's that next to me?" I rouse the muscle-hunk leather-daddy and say: "Are you hungry?"
I wish! No, I wake up and the first thing I think is: "Oh my God, what am I going to wear?"
People think I put the day's outfit out the night before. I wish I had, but no, I get dressed in five minutes in whatever couture is lying around my bedroom — like today, even though I look stunning. Some of my best looks come from the craziness of the morning.
My dream would be to get on a horse each morning, then go to work, but that's not happening any time soon. Not in New York. I have three horses: one in Kentucky and two in Pennsylvania. I don't see them as much as I'd like. I miss riding a lot. When I go home to my parents in Pennsylvania, people are amazed to see me in the barn, all filthy, mucking stalls out in wellies. But that's very much who I am. I am not prissy at all.
It should never take more than 15 minutes for a guy to get ready. But being a gay guy, it's longer. It's like converting dog years to human years: multiply that by four, so it shouldn't take a gay guy more than an hour. But I'm really quick.
I jump in the shower, wash and condition. Then I slick my hair back and jump in the car waiting outside my apartment.
I am whisked off to some exotic location, Long Island or New Jersey — for you readers, that's not very exotic; it's like Birmingham. It takes an hour to get to work, so I always get a Starbucks chai tea latte on the way in. If I need a pick-me-up I have them throw in a shot of espresso, but breakfast is all laid out when I get to the studio, so I eat a banana, a bowl of oatmeal or Rice Krispies — they come in shiny blue foil and are heavenly. I don't know what they put in them, some sort of crack-cocaine-like substance I can't get enough of.
I go through hair and make-up, then we start doing the Lord's work: helping straight guys across New York. One piece of advice I always give is: "Underwear can make you feel sexy all day." And it can. I always say boxers are hot — but not the underwear, the people who box. Today I chose black boxer briefs by Sabroso, which I think means "yummy" in Spanish. I find Latin people very yummy.
Whoever I'm styling, my job is to put things together to reflect that person. I want them to express their own personal style, even if I have to coax it out of them. Ideally, you can put anybody in great clothes and they'll look great, but it doesn't work like that — people only look their best when it comes from the heart. People are listening to my advice: they come up to me in public wearing pink. It's so cute and heartwarming, I love it. I feel so much love wherever I go. I always take the time to talk or give an autograph, even if I'm on a date. I love the attention.
I either have lunch on set or with an agent, a publicist or a manager. I am pretty much a workaholic. I've always been that way. Staying busy sates my appetite for diversion. If I'm not busy, I think about too many things. My mind races: "What will I buy my friends for holiday presents? What am I going to wear to the next awards show?
Did I pay my taxes? Is my curling iron on?" Crazy stuff. I'm an over-thinker.
My schedule is so packed it's almost nightmarish, but I'm so lucky to have this opportunity. I want to do as much as I can without people getting sick of me and without killing myself. Before Queer Eye, I thought my life was busy. I had no idea it could be busier, but boy, did I have an education. I haven't had time to go tanning — that's a tough schedule! I am tanorexic: I go whenever I can. It's my one vice now I've quit smoking.
I never get bored of shopping, even though I have to do it for my job. There is recreational shopping and work shopping and I do them both all the time. I also find I never have anything to wear. I have tons of clothes — it's just I get sick of things pretty easily. And I can't wear the same thing often, because people will be like: "Oh my God, he's hawking that same old deerskin blazer. Again!"
We shoot an episode a day and finish at 4 o'clock. Then I have a couple of meetings and maybe a photo shoot to promote the show or a book. They'll last until 8pm, then I'll meet someone for dinner. If I'm really lucky it's a date, and in that case I drive home to get ready. If I'm short of time I take a [expletive deleted] bath — that's spraying yourself with cologne and going out. Or I take another shower; you want to stay fresh in case you do get lucky. But that doesn't entail redoing my hair, because that's a long procedure, so I wrap a towel around it and I look like a 1930s movie star, a female one. I put on a little fragrance and race out.
I get home around 10 and will have 30 or 40 e-mails, so I take care of any loose ends. It's around midnight by the time I get to bed. I never fall asleep right away, because I'm so jacked up from the day. And the 13 Red Bulls. So I read. Either fashion magazines, horse magazines or books on renovating apartments.
I say my prayers every night like I have since I was tiny: "Bless you, Grandma; bless you, Mommy..." and on down the list, which has never changed, even though some of the people are dead and buried. If a fashion PR has been particularly generous, I might add them as a one-night special mention."

I'm so happy he's quit smoking! It's okay, he can tan all he wants, as long as he's safe and doesn't get cancer.

Wow, those are the kind of details we've wanted all along. I wish the others would do that.
He pulls together his outfit from whatever's lying around his bedroom? That means he goes to sleep without hanging up everything on wooden hangers. Would've never guessed, and that is so casual & cool. Remember the discussion a long time ago wondering if he was kidding about organizing his clothes ahead of time for a month? I think by now we realize just about anything he says on the show could be a joke.
