KCee creeps in and drops off the following news tidbit. Then ducks and runs to safety before the Thom Wives and the Teddy Grahams realize that their men will soon be seen ... in KILTS!
=================================

In the link below is a story about the Johnnie Walker Dressed to Kilt event benefiting Friends Of Scotland, which will take place on National Tartan Day, April 6th in New York City.

Everytime I tried to paste the entire story here, it formatted funky. But, here's the part which you may find most interesting. (Bolding added by me.)

Quote:

The theme of this year's Dressed to Kilt, sponsored by Johnnie Walker, the world's best selling Scotch Whiskey, will be "Glasgow Meets Havana at ... the Copacabana", which also happens to be the venue. The runway fashion show will feature 30 "hot" men and 10 "gorgeous" women all clad in plaid, strutting the catwalk for charity! ... But the bold faced names don't stop there -- Models for the evening include Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's Ted Allen and Thom Filicia; Actor Anne Hathaway (The Princess Diaries); supermodel/TV reality star Marcus Schenkenberg; CNN's Paula Zahn; Actor Gerard Butler (Phantom of the Opera); New York Post "Page Six" editor Richard Johnson; Kansas City Chiefs' Lawrence Tynes; Scottish rugby star Scott Hastings; Scottish pop idol Darius; Olympic Gold Medallist swimmer Gary Hall; Actor Tony Curran (Flight of the Phoenix); Scottish soccer legend Mo Johnston; and celebutantes Tinsley Mortimer, Zani Gugelmann, and Elizabeth Kieselstein Cord.

Here's the link to the story.

Not about Tom and Ted in Kilts, but I wanted to say thanks JG for your comments in my defense on the show dog boards. What a piece of work some of those posters are!
Watched again last night and that's it for me. I like the kinder, gentler posters here and the kinder gentler folks on Queer Eye. Jai cares more for Nemo and (can't remember the name) and I'm sure Ted(?)Thom(?) is crazy about Paco and they are not show dogs.

FYI, Jai's other Yorkie is Dorry (sp?) and Thom is Paco's daddy.

I just heard from De and she said they are going to be showing clips of Carson's movie on E! and the movie will be opening July 22nd. She asked me to pass along that information.....so she's still watching over us! (A perfect example of what SLB is talking about when she says the peeps here are kinder and gentler. Absolutely!!! )

I was thinking of going over to Showdogs board but maybe I should lurk first. Anyway, I couldn't watch it because there was something wrong with the audio on the Bravo Channel. I hope it will be fixed when I get home-oh please! I'm interested in the show because I love animals but from what I've seen from the first episode I'm not that bad, but I did enjoy the first episode. I have a friend who owns 4 dogs one being a pure bred German Shepherd so I'm sure she's watching it. When we lived in the same town we would always watch the Westminster shows together.

And Thanks De for the info on Carson-I will be there in the middle row of the theater for the best view when I see him on the big screen! De I miss you, hope everything is going well with you!

I checked out that board last night, and it's kind of...ummmm... scary. Whatever you do, don't mention anyone's spelling!

I watched the show last night and it was pretty weird.. the posts have degenerated from an informative and/or humorous mix to long and winding posts about other people's petty disputes. Ugh!

But, you know, I think Royal [expletive deleted], from her moniker and her long and funny post, is not a negative person. I have taken her post without permission because we are all posting to Bravo about reality shows which makes us cousins. I have pointed out some really horrendous spelling at times, but I never seriously scolded like ticktick.. And I've made my own share of embarrassing mistakes in both spelling and grammar.
Anywayhow, give Royal [expletive deleted] another read, with an eye to her humor.. I don't care a whit about doggie shows but she seems a well-balanced person who is nothing like the fanatics on many animal boards. I belong to the group People Eating Tasty Animals myself, so I know how misunderstandings can so easily occur..

Hey hun, thank you so much for the wonderful lesson in spelling. Just so you know I am not one to worry about spelling on a message board. I read some other stuff that you wrote and want to tell you that there is nobody attacking you and you certainly are entitled to your opinions. I respect that just as everyone else does otherwise we wouldn't be here. I do also see that there are a GREAT NUMBER of people who love the show and it's contents. I must say I too am a little jealous that I wasn't chosen over the two gay guys from Seattle but honestly they are great. It is seriously time for people to relax and whether this show portrays the real life of Showdog people or not it is very entertaining to watch. As for the other yahoo on the message board that said dogs need to be treated like animals and not humans...who the heck are you to judge that? There is the old fashioned 'prehistoric' mentality going all over again. Get a grip. If only I could swear on this maybe I could get my point across a little more clear. I thank the people on this message board that love the show and it's contents. Thank you everyone for seeing what I see...GREAT ENTERTAINMENT. I so cannot wait for this weeks episode. I see the commercials for that guy that says he is going to have that dog taken away blah blah blah and I just cannot wait to see what happens. The gay guy with the bald head says something like "don't raise your voice in front of these dogs" it CRACKS ME UP!!! I think this episode might be the breaking point as I am sure I will have a lot to speak of following the show. Lucky for me I get to watch it three hours earlier than you guys on the West Coast. Drama drama drama. Oh yeah, I have a dear friend that is gay. He is a hairdresser and today when I was coloring my hair we were talking about the show. He too is sick of seeing gay men and women "acting" like their lives are so loving and perfect. He said in exact words to me "it's about time me see the claws and cat fights." And to me people that is all that makes a person(s) learn in their relationship. God knows what else may happen but good for the boys for not being afraid to disagree on television. That episode looks like it might have a few bombs drop!!!

Hugs and kisses,

The RoyalBitch of the East

I've never seen Showdog Moms and Dads, but out of curiousity I decided to check out the boards. You're right! The people who post there are scary! I'm amazed at how it devolved from informative posts about the show to mudslinging and name-calling!

That's what I love about Queer Eye, no matter what board I'm on, the people are always nice, and can agree to disagree.

Maybe it was symbolic of starting over during spring.

My Robbie-Thomas shaved his head too, and I think it was just for kicks-and-giggles but also because it's something new, and a little more poppy (like his album and single, Lonely No More) than the Matchbox, post-grunge look. But ya just gotta remember that with guys as gorgeous as Jai and Rob, hey, their face is all that matters!

Sometimes I wish I had the option of buzzing my hair off! That'd be a rather radical look for a 40-something.

Actually, the shorter hair helps him look his age. He's got such a youthful face that when he grows the hair long, he looks like a teenager, not the mid 20-something guy that he is.

And, like Kyan once said, "It's only hair", and Jai's still young enough that it'll grow back.

I wish I had Jai's courage and enthusiasm for change....I've had the same hairstyle for 25 years. It's long, straight and blonde.....although for the past few months, I've had my daughter dye my "undercoat" a very dark chocolate brown. The dark part doesn't show that much unless I were to run through the office like an Afghan Hound at a dog show, but what the heck. (Did someone out there yawn?) My favorite Jai-style was in the Warren Loy ep but I think he looks great all the time.

Try having that chocolate brown put in throughout as a "lowlight". Depending on how blond your hair is it can be a subtle change.

Yeah, I admire Jai for that too. I'm not good at drastic hair changes either. I have to be gradual about it.

My hair is a "streaky" blonde but some of the streaks are very light...especially in the summer when I spend a lot of time at the beach or by the pool or in the bar.....oh, wait...that last part probably doesn't affect my hair color.

Maybe he just alternates between longer and shorter hair. I do that alot, I keep my hair long in the fall/winter and get it cut in the spring. That's the great thing about hair; it grows back.

I wish I'd leave my hair alone for five minutes! I grow it out/I cut it off/ I grow it out more/ I cut it off shorter/ I dye it one color then another color then ANOTHER color... it's probably going to fall right off my head before much longer.

I grew up in a Weird Cultlike Religion where women mostly wore their hair long and never cut it, so I think part of my radical hairstyles is a reaction to that. And clothes too - I have a terrible fear of being... dowdy.

I like Jai's hair better longer too. I think he looks way too much like Adam Sandler with it shaved off. But, it's hair - it will grow back!

You know I've had many woman friends who shaved/lost their hair due to chemo. I am amazed how beautiful their hair is when it grows back. And several of them who always were coiffed now consistently wear their new hair very short.
I don't know if the texture of hair changes with chemo (it makes sense that it might) but if it's just the shaving thing I'm tempted!

Strangely enough, I think that chemo might have something to do with it. My niece had cancer when she was a child. Before, her hair was sort of fine, but after her treatments were over and it grew back, it was so thick she couldn't get a comb through it! (I could take a few guesses on how that might work, but I don't know if I'd be right.)
kyansutra
Yes, I've also had friends who went thru Chemo and their hair came back thicker.

Yes, I liked Jai's hair the way it was in the Warren L. episode too but to quote Kyan who I wish would grow out his hair a little too-my favorite hair style of his was those photo sessions in the white suits-yah! Yes, the hair will grow back quoting my fave grooming guru so Kyan can you grow yours a little longer too? I see that Kyan's Greg is growing a goatee- I can see Kyan in one. I wouldn't mind that.

Yeah, I really liked the way Jai and Ted's hair looked in the white suit photo shoots. I really wish Ted would grow his out again, it looked really cute. Still, it's their hair and they're going to wear it how they want.

I LOVE drastic hair changes. Actually, I'm kind of a trend-setter at my school (which ISN'T hard - our school is known for their style clones) so I have to change it constantly so that it's not copied too much by everybody. Seventh grade was neck-length blonde hair with *way* too many highlights, eighth grade changed from different types of blonde until I dyed it brunette in the spring, and this summer I went to a deep burgundy, almost purple (L'Oreal Féria Chocolate Cherry, to be specific) and just recently it's been a dark red.

Any opinions on my next move?

A random survey: what does everyone think is the most overrated hairstyle at the moment?

IMO, I can't stand the chunky high-lowlights, like the lady on the Apprentice... ich! Cool two years ago, but...

Yeah, chemo will do that to you. It's because it comes right out of the follicle and doesn't try growing back 'til chemo is complete and done. My friend had childhood leukemia, and her hair is very fine now... but it would be one of the very short lists of upsides to chemo - that is, if you were lucky and got decent hair!

My mom was really annoyed when I cut my hair over spring break. It's above my shoulders now and she insists that it looks better longer. I've gotten quite a few compliments on it, though, and I love how it bounces when I walk.

I love the song! As totallybisexual stated, they are on Jai's official fansite. And you definitly want the lyrics, I was singing the wrong words until I read them and I was like "Oh. Well now it makes sense!" My favorite lyric is "Bubble bath is fun for one, but really meant for two. A million kisses, saving every one of them for you."

And believe me, if it wasn't for a poster who no longer is on the boards, I wouldn't have the single. She sent it to me all the way from Australia.

Does anyone have extremely thick hair, like I do? When it is short, it is easy to take care of. Shampoo, brush and go.
My hair perms very well. Whose had permed hair?

Chemo does change your hair, and oddly enough it sounds as if it's nearly always for the better. I've had breast cancer - I didn't have to have chemo because it was caught very early, but my consolation was that I'd probably end up with better hair. Although I like my hair and didn't WANT different hair... it's funny the things you get all worried about in situations like that. I think I was way more concerned about my hair falling out that I was about, oh, dying.

I did have radiation, and all of a sudden people keep telling me my hair looks like it's a different color - I wonder if that had something to do with it, since I haven't dyed it lately, oddly enough. I've never heard anyone say radiation did that, but something happened.

Oh, and, girls, go get a mamogram. NOW.
