Oh, well. I DID buy Ted's book this weekend, though, and plan to break it in tonight. The recipes sound wonderful and it's fun reading even if you aren't going to cook a thing.

I read in a magazine article that Thom was working on 2 books...has anyone heard about these books and when are they going to come out??? Thom was also developing a furniture line??? In a issue of Hamptons....

I was flipping throught the latest issue of "W" magazine, November 2005 issue, and came across page 200 the "SUZY " page.
There was the THOM'S NAME!!!!! Unfortunately there was NO PHOTO!
The comment was about J. Lo and Marc Anthony wanting to spend more time in NY and have hired(my comment) the #1 BEST INTERIOR DESIGNER in the world, THOM FILICIA to decorate Marc's rambling house on Long Island!
Excellent! Your #1 THOM! Your design work is superior!

Sorry if this has already been posted about and discussed, but I just read at Oprah's site that Carson will be on Thursday's show (Nov. 17). The show is entitled "When I Knew I Was Gay" and the description says "They all kept the same secret: when they knew they were gay. Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's Carson Kressley was in the first grade. Then, a mother's dream shattered--how she found out."

In a few photos of Thom, he's wearing a pink shirt. With his brown eyes and that pink shirt, I am swooning. Pastel pink is my favorite color.

A friend met Ted in person, and with reading the rules about NO taking photos with him(& fan) and signing only the book, she noticed that some people got their photo taken with Ted and saw someone had a calendar.
What is up with rules such as only sigining the book, and no personal photos w/ Ted? Were the rules changed?

My guess is that the signing is meant to help sell the book itself, and if people are bringing in calendars, pictures, etc., then they're less likely to pick up the book and the store loses out on profit. And the 'no personal photos' is probably just meant to cut down on time; the signing will take much, much longer if everyone wants to set up their camera, get into a pose, wait for the camera to go off, and so on.
Some stores enforce the 'no outside merchandise and no photos' rule, some don't. It's good to call ahead and ask.

Thanks for explaing that to me. When Ted was in my state and when I read the event rules, I didn't wanna carry a calendar all day and not have the opportunity for it to be signed. Apparently someone brought a calendar and had it autographed, and had posed photos. To heck with those rules.
Smile with me for the camera THOM-ha! I doubt I will ever get a event in my state for my #1 fave! I can only HOPE.

I don't know, but TFI has always designed custom-pieces for some clients when the right piece can't be found. TFI uses a company called Richomme, which makes up individual pieces of furniture custom-made to order. It's common for high-end designers to do this. Not that that doesn't mean Thom will come out with his own line one day -- he should -- but if you see 'a TFI chair' or something in a magazine, that's what it means.
