CAR was in December issue of Cosmo magazine(2nd row 3rd photo) page 36
Jai was on the "The Discovery Channel" float in the NYC parade.

Did you see Ted on The Today Show(Sunday edition) and on The View? It was nice to see him, but, it was less than 15 minutes(The Today Show) and he was on at the end of the, The View.

Is Richomme a well-known fact?
If there is any other factual information about THOM/TFI INC., in the future, I would like to read more.

I just got a call from Depoetic (for those of us old timers, De is an unforgettable former member of this board) and she wanted me to let you'all know that Carson is on Good Morning America today.

On another note, I was able to meet Ted on Tuesday night (I'll post more about that later when I have more time), but he was very excited that some recipes from his new book, "The Food You Want To Eat", have been picked up by the Weight Watchers website. He said this is really good news for him so I wanted to give it a shout out here on the Bravo board.

I saw the last couple of minutes...good interview. We want to hear all about Ted!! And Barry,if he was not busy with interir design plans??

Good for the Ted fans....

There is a book excerpt on the ABC news website if you want to read an excerpt of Car's book http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/?GMAad=true

Meeting Ted at his book signing in Century City, CA was an unforgettable experience.....better than I had imagined or hoped for. I sat right in front of him and since it was a very small group at this venue, it was like Ted and I were just chatting like old friends. He was sipping a glass of wine while he spoke (and I had a couple of drinks at dinner before I got to Brentano's ) so it was a very intimate, comfortable conversation. I was able to give Ted a copy of my screenplay and he promised to read it and even offered to critique it since he is a writer. Our conversation was more about QE, the Fab 5, and SG's from previous seasons than it was about cooking, but I did buy a couple of copies of his book and it is wonderful! You don't have to be a chef to enjoy his style or follow his recipes. The entire evening, Ted made me feel like he was enjoying himself as much as I was (clearly not possible!) and that's a gift that Ted has....along with his great sense of humor. Deb (luvsthom) had met Ted two weeks earlier and she warned me that he was going to be delightful and she didn't lie. What a night! I'm still floating on a cloud!
design_daddy
Where is THOM on tv? It seems like Car, Ky(Today Show) & Ted(The View) have appeared on tv alone, but no THOM....yet, right????
cats4
It sounds like you had a great time...there were probably a million and one things you wanted to talk about and forgot, only to remember afterwards. Wish I had the chance to meet Ted while in IL, but family mattters won out. If you remember anymore of your conversation with Ted please share,at least I'd love to hear about it....

Today is Saturday and what a QE day: saw JAI on the Today Show "Toy Drive" holding a red bag to collect toys...A & E''S Brady Bunch: Car was commenting and....on MAD TV(QE show segment) the actors that portrayed the guys had such similar hairstyles. Does anyone know who protrayed THOM from the MAD TV cast???
The Home & Garden magazine was wrapped in plastic, how come??? I didn't think that magazine had to be wrapped up... in THOM'S ARMS...I mean in a plastic bag

Personally, I think my skin is too fair for this makeup line, but it sounds great!

It’s all about being HIP this holiday
By JEN HAGGERTY, The Herald Press 12/04/2005

FARMINGTON -- Need a splash of color? Maybe you need to think HIP.

Grooming guru Kyan Douglas launched the HIP makeup line at the L’Oréal Paris store in Westfarms Saturday.

I haven't watched this yet to confirm, but I've heard that Thom, Jai & Ted are all part of the "Great Things about the Holidays". on Bravo

You're right, KCee. Jai and Ted have several little snippets where they make comments about the various "Great Things About The Holidays". Unfortunately, Thom has only 3 little comments that I recall.....and they're WAAAAAY too brief.
design_daddy
Shucks! Shuck! Darn. Anything especially that Thom has to say... I'll be listening attentively to.
What was THOM wearing? Don't you love the hair style in the latest issue of The Advocate(back flip photo).
He can zip up my wedding dress!

All I can say is ... that is SO COOL!!!! And boy am I jealous!!! Ted's book is wonderful, too. I've been using it often, and it's complicated enough to be interesting, yet very understandable. And the results are fantastic. Good news about The Screenplay, too!

Just wondering how many of the Fab 5 have you've met in person?
design_daddy
I saw that ONE day after my b-day, the guys will be on the Today Show Weekend edition. I'll be seeing THOM on tv! YAY!

I don't know many fans that can say that they are fortunate enough to get a tv appearance on the day of or a day later on their b-days!

I didn't know it was your birthday! I'm sorry I missed it, but I hope you had a wonderful, wonderful day.

Seeing THOM on tv the day after my b-day is very special to me-he better be smiling and laughing-as usual
What I wouldn't give for a hug from my fave Fab 5 guy on my b-day! YAY

BTW-have you seen the latest issue of The Advocate(back photo)????

Not one, sadly - and unless they come to the wilds of NC, I'm afraid I'm not likely to. I think the closest spot to me they might hit is Atlanta, and I'm five hours from there, but I would seriously consider a road trip.
cats4
Happy belated Birthday....I saw the back cover you were talking about...Thom certainly is enjoying himself!!!! wonder what Jai was looking at??
design_daddy
My Birthday is the 16th...I read that the Fab 5 are appearing on The Today Show Weekend on the 17.
I can't wait to see what THOM looks like the day after my birthday ON TV...
We love THOM!!!
By the way, I hope you saw the photo of the Fab 5 in suits. The magazine advertisment has been in various issues, Star, US Weekly, Entertainment Weekly(Dec. 9th)...Thom has such a funny face. Like "the wedding fits, we have a winner"
Ted was spotted more on Great Things About the Holidays...office party and N. Marcus segments....
Thanks though, cats4- for the b-day wish...where is my birthday hug from THOM?

Oh...and for your Ted fans...he's in Real Simple magazine(Dec. 2005 Jan. 2006 issue)

The article's on the web, but I'm copying and pasting. Slightly censored, for the sake of everyone's delicate psyche.

No, he's not the hair guy. And he's not the loud blond one either. Syracuse native Thom Filicia is "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's" design doctor known for whipping a drab, sometimes grotesque, heterosexual bachelor pad into a sophisticated living space, suitable for guests, girls, and in this case, gay men.

An interior designer by trade, Filicia, 35, has been riding the celebrity roller coaster since he was cast on Bravo's smash hit in 2003. Filicia attended Nottingham High School and later Syracuse University in the early 1990s.

Sipping white wine in the lobby of Armory Square's Hawthorne Suites hotel before speaking at SU on Nov. 28, Filicia shed light on a few things that make him tick.

What is your most prized possession? My dog Paco. He's half beagle and half Italian greyhound. I rescued him in East Hampton, NY.

What's your idea of perfect happiness? Having something to look forward to, perfect happiness is working towards a goal. When you're excited and you're interested in what's going on in your life, that's perfect happiness.

What do you most value in your friends? The ability to laugh together and loyalty.

What is your biggest fear? That I'm just going to like, poop out. I do a lot and I'm going all the time and I think my biggest fear is that I'll run out of energy. And that would be scary.

What is your greatest extravagance? My dining out expenses.

What is the number one thing you look for in a mate? Someone who can put up with me and Paco and still have a smile on their face.

What talent do you wish you possessed? I wish I could sing. I wish I had a better voice. Sometimes when the radio stops in my car, abruptly, like the CD gets jammed or something, and I hear my voice, it terrifies me. If Paco could speak the first thing he would say would be "stop singing."

Who would you most like to be stranded on an island with? Someone with a boat, preferably a yacht.

Who's (sic) house would you most like to makeover? I'd sure like to get my hands on the Hotel Syracuse. I think I'd try to bring it back to its original glamour, but do it in a way that isn't expected.

What's your biggest regret? Not being a better tennis player.

How would the person who knows you best describe you? As a crazy jackass that can't lose.

What is the epitome of beauty? Confidence, style and humility.

What's your worst habit? After a few cocktails I bum cigarettes.

Describe your perfect meal? Steamers and a really great glass of beer. Or many glasses of beer.

What do you think about before falling asleep? I wish I didn't have to get up so early and I wish I didn't go to bed so late.

What do your friends bust on you about? For being a pain in the @$$. Just my opinions in general.

What's your biggest aggravation? Feeling like I've got so much to do and so little time, and that can be difficult. Trying to get a million things done at once.

Describe the cover of your autobiography. "Wingin' it by Thom" would be the name of it. And the cover would be, I don't know, me stepping in poo.

What characteristic do you most dislike in other people? Pretension and lack of interest.

What's at the top of your Christmas list? I want to go skiing, I didn't ski at all last year so this year I really want to go skiing. I want to go to Colorado.

For fans on the show, can you give us some dirt on Carson? I took Carson water skiing this summer and he wouldn't go so I put him on an inner tube and I dragged him behind the boat. I drove the boat as crazily as I could, as fast as I could go to get him to fly off and he wouldn't. He would not fly off the **** boat, I was so bummed out.

Is he as really as obnoxious in person as he seems on TV? He's exactly the same person so there's really no dirt. What you see is what you get. I think we're all pretty true to form.
design_daddy
My fave is...."someone who can put up with me and Paco and still have a SMILE on their face. Yes! I could do that!
THOM is the most coolest guy!

LVB: It's true that a lot of people seem to have disappeared from this board, but many of them are still lurking. Some check this board and post occasionally (like me and luvsthom) and there are several old timers who do most of their messaging over on Carson's site like notey. TTB and De had so many things going on in their lives that it was too difficult for them to keep up the volume that we had become accustomed to. Definitely a sad loss for those of us who love them. You may see De pop in when she's able to but it's certainly not like the old days when we could count on her to give us her famous summaries of each episode. And even more rare are the visits from the SG's. John Kilcooley recently posted holiday greetings and that was definitely a delightful surprise. Of course, my heart is still with Thom and my feelings about him and the rest of the FF haven't diminished one iota. I don't think I'm telling tales out of school if I say that that applies to Deb (luvsthom) as well. It's the normal cycle of things that some peeps have moved on or found their interest waning but that doesn't necessarily reflect the quality and popularity of QE. There's been some grumbling but I think the love is still there. Usually there's a resurgence of interest after a new episode airs and since this season has just begun, we may see yet see some of our old friends posting again.....and of course, new friends are always welcome and should be encouraged. It's been awhile since I tried to talk one of the SG's into letting me buy him a Margarita. I may have to wait until the block of wedding episodes is over though.....I don't want to get my butt kicked by any of the new brides!

I MISS YOU ALL!

Weird... I just popped in for a second to see if Tomasulo was able to post about Carson on Oprah... (I bugged her at work when I saw the "Oprah after the Show" ad for this coming Friday), and I click on her name and see this lil note.

I almost NEVER get to come by anymore... but DieHardFan lurks from her office there in Hong Kong and keeps in touch with me by e-mail. (Or by snail mail as she and Phqnumber4 and I do), I miss y'all and think of you when I watch the show.

Peace from where it's drizzly and cold in Texas.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Blessed Channukhah, Peaceful Kwanza - Love to all you peeps.

I do, I love you all. This is such a great fandom. I'm so glad I found the show and I'm so glad I found all of you because being here has made my life better and made me a better person.
No, I'm not drunk, I just got a very upsetting reminder of a former fandom that ended just unbelievably horribly. Not to go off on one, but there are some really evil, abusive people out there, not just online but in the industry. I am so grateful to have found a group of guys and their fans that, for all the little spats, are basically open and welcoming.
I think it's easy to take what you have for granted, but tonight (cue violins) I realised I am lucky, and this has had a positive impact on my life. I'm glad I made the choice to seek out positive influences and to shut out bad ones.

Enjoy the holidays, everyone!
