I don't know for sure but the chances of finding 2 purebred Yorkshire Terriers at a shelter are pretty remote. My guess is he got them from a breeder but anything is possible. Like I said, I'm just guessing. I would imagine Jai would be aware of the dangers of purchasing a dog from a pet store because of the risk of perpetuating the existence of puppy mills.

Tada! From the NY Daily News (report from that animal charity fashion show Carson, Thom and Jai did last year).
"Thom Filicia, an interior designer and co-host of the benefit, said his rescued dog, Paco, sticks close to his heels. Jai Rodriguez, the "Queer Eye" culture guy, sleeps with his dogs, Nemo and Dory, whom he saved from a backyard breeder who thought the Yorkies were too big to sell."
I remember reading somewhere that Paco was a stray that had been abandoned that Thom found and rescued, rather than one he got from an actual shelter, but I don't remember exactly so don't take it as gospel.

Just talking about my guys, Thom & Kyan, I hope so, if for no other reason than passing on those wonderful genes and attitudes on. And I've already volunteered to donate eggs, be a surrogate mother, au pair, nanny or babysitter.

I was fortunate to be able to see Jai's performance, and I have to say that, as much as I love QE, I honestly would not be sad if it ended because that boy deserves to be back on the stage, his first love. While I admit to some bias, he was absolutely brilliant; even the cynical theatre patrons were won over, and at the end gave him a standing ovation. It was such an energetic, moving show. I laughed, cried, and wanted to dance in the aisles.
It is a testament to how well loved Jai is that I counted six of the straight guys and their families there to support him, and they are all such nice people themselves. His role on the show is obviously an important one.
Also, Ted and Thom are two of the nicest, most gracious men I have ever met. They make you feel instantly at ease.
But, Jai has my heart.
One last mention, if you have the opportunity to support the Actors' Fund, please do. This was one of the most professional and enthusiastic organizations I have ever had to deal with. They are a real treasure.

But even if it's not in an interview, you can tell that he is crazy about kids. He plays with the SG's kids whenever there are some around and in an article (that I can't find but I know Naomi will remember) he said he was "worried about how the kids down at the marina would feel".
He's a natural father - and I'm not saying that from a biased pov, any kid would be lucky to have him as one. Kyan also has that natural father ability. But Thom and Kyan are both on two different scales. Thom is more, "YAY! Let's go outside and run!" and Kyan is more, "Here, sit down and let me talk to you for a minute." Neither is bad, both are good! And it's not to say neither can't be like the other - it's just a dominance. But overall, it's something that would be good with kids.

Found it, it was in People last May. He didn't exactly say he wanted marriage and kids - my bad - the quote about being raised with marriage and kids was printed kind of out of context but used in such a way it was implied he wanted those things.

I think they might have kids someday, I'm pretty sure about Thommie and Kyan... I'm not so sure about Ted, because he's married for 11 years now and him and Barry have never said anything about it, so I'm not not sure... Maybe someday they decide to have a kid... I totally remember that ep. when Thommie made Ted laugh! I also remember once when Jai got stuck on the lamp on that John Sica ep., and Ted laughed at Jai so much! lol It was very funny to see Jai handcuffed on a lamp and Teddy just enjoyed it! lol
The lobster ep was funny too, Teddy's laugh is so cute! He's kinda shy, and I think it's adorable!
I read someone say around here that Thommie might think he's not handsome... Oh Thommie, of course you are! The same with Ted, who's in an excellent body shape and still says he's not and doesn't do anything to maintain it...! Tsk Tsk Tsk... Our boys...!

I think what the guys would most appreciate is hearing how the show has affected you and your life. Just open your heart and honestly share your feelings. I don't think you need to worry about impressing them or shocking them...at this point in their lives, they've probably seen it all, but I doubt that they ever tire of hearing how they have made positive changes in the lives of their fans.
Hun, dd and tomasulo are right! You gotta tell them what the show did for you and your life, open your heart and share something great with them, something that you only share with a friend, so they'll feel special and they are special!
You can also pick one of them, I wrote a letter to Ted and I'm sending him a spatula with Nat inscripted on it, so he can say: "Man, I love my Nat!", or "Nat helps me so much on the kitchen!" lol Then I'll finally be able to 'be a little favourite spatula on Ted's kitchen drawer'!!! Dd!!! I guess that Thommie, as a taurean, must love meat, a good barbecue sometimes and I'm sure he drinks the good old beer and a little wine here and there... Taureans (at least all the ones I know!) love to have a GOOD meal, and they have to watch out their wheight so they won't get too heavy! I dunno really how I came to have a crush on Thommie. My friend got me into the QE show....I like big bois, like Thommie is?! Thommie has broad shoulders, beautiful smile, funny laugh, mischevious one....whatever. He'd be great to meet in person. I would want more than a handshake.
I think my friend told me she knew I was more curious about big Thommie when he appeared at one my local news stations. Not live in the studio, unfortunately...

Nat, I don't think it's fair to stereotype Cancers. Personally, I'm a Cancer (my birthday is June 23rd, the day after Jai's) and I love children, but I'm certain that there are Cancers out there who don't love children. As a matter of fact, I actually know a couple of Cancers who don't love children. As you can probably tell, I'm not a big believer in astrology.

I think Thom would make a great father someday, if he ever stops working so hard. I suspect that, at the moment, Thom is a workaholic. Remember, that besides Queer Eye, and how busy that keeps him, he owns his own business. I think that at the moment Thom doesn't have the time to put into properly raising a child.
