Will they be doing any more shows in the UK? Last night they showd Queer eye for the British guy but I'd love to know if they were planning on doing it again as I'd love to suggest someone. The British Queer Eye is rubbish so I wouldn't want them to do it! The original and best only!
I only caught the first part of last night's episode, From what I saw it seemed like one of the best episodes I've seen in a long time, and I'm glad Simon came across as great on camera as he was in real life. They shot two episodes when they were over here last November, the second one being an American ex-pat living in Essex, which should air next week

There are lots of interviews with all the boys. Run a Google search on any of their names and see what you come up with. Frankly, it really wouldn't surprise me if Jai leaves the show the second his contract is up.

I'm rather curious to find out why you think he would be happier acting. Granted that acting is what he started out doing, but he can do both. I mean, look at Carson, he was in the Perfect Man and the Diet Pepsi commercial. Jai could be the actor that he would like to be now, he doesn't have to wait until his contract is up. He would have to wait if he wanted to go back to Broadway or doing plays as that takes up a load of time that he doesn't have right now.
If I had to comment on what I think Jai would be happiest doing, it would have to be his singing career. He's already established as an actor, but he only has a single out. He was in the thick of creating an album when QE came along and I'm sure he'd love to get back to that.
However, I am not Jai and cannot speak for him. Only the person we are talking about could tell us what he is happiest doing, we can't put words into his mouth (not that any of us are, for that matter).

You're right, JG, only Jai could tell us what would make him happiest. I probably shouldn't have said "acting," I should have said "performing." I think Jai would be happiest performing.

Commercials and bit parts are great for Carson, but no so much for someone who's supposed to be a professional actor. He'd never have time to have the J.Lo style career that he wants if he continues with QE. He hasn't even been able to finish his album because of the show, not to mention that he totally got dissed when they lied to him about putting his songs on the soundtrack. He said he wants to do movies, CDs, and a scripted TV show- ain't gonna happen when he's spending fourteen hour days on set. Even if would've gotten his CD out there, he never would've had time to promote it, tour, shoot videos, and make non-QE appearances.
Not to mention, he's stated numerous times how he can't wait for it to be over so he can get back to doing what he loves the most, and how he's been less than amused by the negative comments that he gets much more so than any of the other guys. He was really on his way before QE, and now he's given up three years of his prime to do the show. Plus with the whole world knowing he's gay now and seeing him goof around on QE, it's going to be harder for him to get quality roles and work that aren't based on his QE image.

True, but I still believe there's no such thing as bad publicity. Being on tv is gonna make a name for him and make it easier to get roles in whatever he wants to do. I think if he tries hard enough, he can find a role he would be comfortable with and show the world he can act outside of his Gay, goofy self.

I'm a little torn I want to see him do QE, sing and act maybe they can just slow prodcetion of the show leting all of then do more I just don't think the exsposer will be bad in the long run many of us won't have known about him other wise. I thought their contracts were longer than that

People never drink real acohol on TV. I think it's against the rules. That, and the people in charge don't want their stars drunk.
I couldn't believe it when it said they never drunk real alcohol! It all seems so fake now. I had realized that it wasn't all done in one day as they did way too much for them to do that and I'd be looking out for clocks and stuff. They must have to have 4 lots of the same clothes for each day too or else smell really bad! lol

That's not quite true. It's true of scripted shows because you have to do scenes over and over and over again, but a lot of unscripted shows do use real alcohol. On Queer Eye they drink, for example during Ted's segments (there's no real way not to given the nature of his job) and sometimes at the end before they leave the straight guy. They don't during shooting the reveal because they shoot six at a time and they'd be rolling on the floor if they did.
On Jai: agree that he'd be happier performing, that's clearly his true love and ambition. The success of Queer Eye is probably a mixed blessing and quite possibly that's how Jai regards it, because clearly he is unsatisfied with some elements (not being able to devote time to his performing career; being known for "buying men gifts for their wives"; the whole 'useless' thing), but you'd be crazy not to acknowledge the good parts. I mean, although he was building a solid career before, he wasn't exactly on the path to stardom and Queer Eye must have opened a lot of doors - the chance to do his Xposed show, for example, almost certainly wouldn't have happened for years if ever had it not been for the show. But on the other hand I know how frustrated he was with Xposed because of the poor ticket sales and the fact he wasn't able to do much to promote something he was very proud of and worked very hard on, partly because the Actors Fund didn't have much money for promotion but also because Queer Eye takes up so much time.

Unfortunately I didn't get to meet them then , although my friend saw Jai at the same club the end event was at later that night, after I'd left. One of the crew guys I was hanging out with did take my birthday card to Carson (it was his birthday the day before that) to give to him. I could not believe it was Simon when I saw him on the show pre-makeover. My God! He seemed so... pixieish. He was so 'on' and confident that night, albeit he was slightly. um... refreshed? (That bottle of champagne he was carrying around? He was swigging from it the Entire. Night.)

I like all of these fellas for who they are and what they do. Their compassionate natures show that they really care about the SGs that they work with. That, and the wonderful brotherhood-chemistry between these 5 fellas is what makes this show work, as opposed to the subsequent shows that have tried to copy. The fact that they're all "easy on the eyes" is, for me, just a bonus.

Besides the fact that he's a gay man & wouldn't be the least bit interested, I don't think that Greg would be very happy with me if I wrote Kyan a love letter. LOL. Also, what I would write in love letter anyway is very, very private indeed.

Well, if they decide to (and it's a big step not to be taken lightly or jumped into), Ted & Barry would likely be first and Kyan & Greg second because they have talked about marriage. None of us know how serious Thom is with his Greg or if he even wants to get married. I have heard Carson say that he's "all for gay marriage, as long as there's also gay divorce". LOL
