ONLY option for the indoor cat owner. neutral colours. the house i live in had rosy pink ones over a big patio door, and, when the sun shone through that hahhhrrible tone, whole place glowed like a friggin' womb.
think the weather will be dry enough to paint this week -- have chosen a shade that looks remarkably like bandaids for the 1/2 bath. might rethink that.
favorite bedroom: liked steven s. (peridot paint color) LOVED john b. (with the little jacket hanging on the wall/very inviting colors ... stark, yet warm)
least favorite: richard m. deep blue depression hideaway. lithium shipwreck. zzzzzzzzzzzz.

Hi, I love the paint in the bedroom, so since you have been to Richard's home, can you tell me if the ceiling is painted or not painted. Thank you.

Greetings and welcome to the forum, hon! Wasn't it a spectacular makeover of the empty house?
I'm so sorry to say - because of the peeps that said our beloved SG seemed gay, his friend became angry and never returned to post in our forum. I wish there was a way to contact dear Richard to ask - but alas, he never came by our boards.
I do hope you feel free to join in our wild conversations, though! Welcome to the forum, hon! Pull up a chair and visit a while!
Peace and grace to you! --De

Marl, I haven't been in his bedroom but I've seen pictures. I attended one of Thom's appearances where he showed pictures from some of the SGs homes. He showed Richard's (dark blue, right?). And I do believe that they left the ceiling white. I painted my bedroom a similar color several months ago and I left it white.

Yea - another "new" episode for me to comment on!
Glad we got to see this episode again too. One of the favs.
I loved in the beginning how Kyan pratically agonized over how to approach the hair topic with Richard. That shows how much he cares. And, then he gave him so much honest reinforcement that I think it really helped Richard get through it. Though that wasn't the worse toupee I've ever seen, the anxiety it brought the poor guy definitely created the need for it to come off. And he looks great. The best thing was when Richard arrived at his newly decorated home and said, "Oh, I've already forgotten about the hair." Bravo!
I know a few couples who live in huge houses but have only the essential pieces of furniture. Either they're overwhelmed with the thought of decorating it, or just haven't found the time and/or money to actually do it. And, we don't know how long Richard has been practicing law (do we?), so he may not be rich (yet).
Though Ted didn't have any cooking to do here, I think in this case it was the BEST thing for Richard's event to be catered. Both Ted & Jai did the right thing here on coaching Richard on how to be a host.
Nice job on the clothes! Loved the power suit! Good job, Carson. (And, was Carson's hair extra soft in the episode?)
Richard's wife was so wonderful & supportative & they look so cute together.
Great episode.

I agree. I also agree with whom ever said that it looked like Kyan fell for Richard. The only thing I didn't like were the glasses. He DEFINATELY looks better without them. I loved how supportive his wife was and couldn't understand what the mother's problem was. My fav. quote was "screw the rest of the world"

I don't remember if I posted my opinions on the epi originally, I doubt it.
The thing that caught my attention most was Richard's eyes! They were so big and expressive (gorgeous!) when the rug was gone.
His wife was just wonderful, also. So much love there.
The baby was so cute--are you my daddy? And the two other kids obviously were stunned but thrilled as well.
Between Richard and his family and Jeff Toale and HIS family it was a great night on Bravo.
As for Richard's mother--get used to it, lady!
Cheers,

KCee: I agree with your assessment about Kyan and Richard. I think Kyan was even more caring than usual because he totally understood what a difficult thing the hair change was for Richard. Kyan's a very perceptive guy and he was extra sensitive in this ep making sure that Richard was given snaps to help his confidence and self-esteem. As Kyan said, "You've got to own it!"

I agree. I saw this episode for the first time a week or so ago, and the part that stayed with me was when Kyan said he was giving a really great message to his children, that it's okay to be yourself and that "who you are is already fine." The passion in his voice in that sentence made it clear to me he did really indentify.

Naomi: So glad we interpreted Kyan's extra special effort in the same way. Makes me wonder about whomever it was that thought Kyan was hitting on Richard. It seems very clear to me that Kyan had too much respect for Richard and his family. I didn't see him cross that line at all.

Thanks KCee and others for positive comments about Kyan's reactions. It really bugs me when folks look at the Fab 5 and think just because they are gay they are going to hit on a straight man. First, the 5 themselves have too much class--this is their profession--and you always try to keep sex and profession separate (hear that, Bill Clinton?). Then it's just degrading to assume that Gay = Sexual predator! I hear enough of that on talk radio, thanks.
So NO! Carson, Jai, Kyan, Thom AREN'T hitting on their clients. I left Ted out of the list because he's for sure in a monogamous relationship so he wouldn't be hitting on anyone for other reasons!

Nobody's making any enemies here. I think some of us were just surprised at that conclusion and particularly how you say you reached it. I know the exact moment you're referring to. Personally, I saw that look as a "WOW" over the whole experience - not a "WOW" over Richard Miller.

I haven't counted back recently - but Kyan stated he and Greg were friends long before becoming steadily involved. (In one article there was the comment about knowing each other for a year or so, first.) There were pictures of them together back in the spring, but I'm not sure of an exact date.
As for friendships, hon, we are all fans in a fandom with a common adulation. Not all of us will be friends - just like not all co-workers at the same job will be friends. Some won't get along with others. Some will consider the expression of an alternate opinion just another point of view. Some will consider the expression of another point of view an attack. Just go ahead and let it drop, sweetie.

You know Susan, I agree with Jais_girl about the deja vu. This is (at least) the second time since I began to post here that you have started a fuss about something--taking great umbrage at comments directed to you that contradict your opinions.
Speaking for myself (and from what I read overall on these boards) I am not looking for conflict here (I have enough of that in my real life). I want to have the privilege of expressing my opinions of the things I see on QE, my adulation of the Fab Five and my thoughts about each episode, both positive and negative. I respect EVERYONE's (and that includes you, in case you want to begin a cat fight with me) opinion whether I agree or disagree. We do want to be friends and manufacturing conflict makes YOU look bad to others.
Please, give up the paranoia, accept comments at face value. Most of us really don't know each other except from what we post. We don't need to fight!

I have been living out of the country and only just began to watch this show. It is amazing. This is one of my favorite episodes. He may have been a lawyer with a great house but he didn't seem to have a lot of confidence in himself. The change was amazing. I could not BELIEVE how gorgeous he looked after getting rid of the toupee. His wife is terrific and she definitely has a hot husband!! I hope he never puts on another toupee. I was disappointed in the mother. How could she not see her own son's great looks and improved self-confidence without that nasty "rug"?
