Michael was the most reluctant Straight Guy the Fab Five had to tackle in a while. What do you think of his new look and new pad?

DUDES-
THIS GUY IS HOT!!! DAMN...the haircut imeadiately made him so F**KABLE!!!!!!
KCee
I think that Michael made the right choice in cutting the hair off. If you're going to be dealing with business people and want them to give you money, it's better to go with the shaved look than the long hair. Still looks cool. This one reminded me of Simon and Brud. Once that hair was gone, you could see a strong jawline & a great smile. For hair that only gets washed twice a year, it really didn't look too bad, but he did look really good with it off. Maybe he can find something inbetween if he doesn't get used to the shaved look. Also, glad to see Kyan address the guy's stress levels. As it turns out he seemed to know what Zen was all about anyway, so perhaps he got the message.

Turns out that Thom is a total mindreader. To take a lack of input & create a look that the guy ultimately really liked, was pure genius. What I want to know, is how does one keep a leather rug looking good?

Carson had a bit of a struggle, didn't he? (Personally, while I like racing, I didn't like the shoes either.) The jewelry he had made was really special though and Michael seemed really appreciative.

Glad that Ted gave the guy something relatively easy. Not sure he could have handled much more. Not a fan of hummus myself, though.

Jai probably gave him the best advice possible by going over how to deal with the business people. Seemed to work. Good going, Jai.

I enjoyed this episode. It's good to see the Fab5 really challenged for a change. It was interesting to see how they reacted to it & I thought they did well.
notevayas

I agree KCee. I would like to add that this Michael really needs to relax. When he mentioned that he felt his stress in one arm, I wanted someone to check his blood pressure!
Kyan did a great job even getting Michael to address the issue of stress management, and that was over and above duty, as he also got the guy to shave off practically all of his hair. This was hair that he mentioned that he had since the age of 17. and most likely associated with his youth and freedom. I think Kyan was asking a bit too much for him to be enthusiastic about that particular change so soon. But again, speaking from a health standpoint, any guy who washes his hair twice a year should have it shaved off. God knows what was growing in there! He really should get the rest of his hair checked out too! I just have this thing about hygeine.

Jai looked ridiculous going to a motorcycle garage in a Madonna shirt and dayglo green plaid baggy trousers. Even a girl wouldn't do that! Michael was making a valiant effort to look Jai in the eyes when they were talking about the business issues important to him, but the clothes were a huge distraction, and I wonder if that was purposeful?

Carson was all sizzle in plaster?paint? splattered jeans and the white shirt, and Michael was reacting to that despite his discomfort. I don't care what designer Carson was wearing, that look could be approximated for under 100.- after one day at work.
Ahem! Yes,I would very much like to customize Mr Kressley's jeans. All I would need is a paintbrush and a knife.. and a few hours of his time..

Speaking of weapons, Michael seems to enjoy having them around. Let me see.. filth + insecurity/control freak = bad lover. And that girl who cancelled the sorta party date? And then after a phone call from Jai, she accepted the invite and ended up crawling all over Michael S? Maybe it's just creative editing, but I'm not hearing violins so much as ka-ching!

Maybe she cooks like Ted but I doubt it. She looks one big headache for Mr. Stress. At least Carson gave him jewelry..

And he dealt with it. And he said the word queer without inflection in mixed company. You can't buy love, but the Fab 5 gave Michael much more than money. They looked after him personally like family would if family could get in his head and had the expertise and the dosh.
Thom's work was excellent especially in the bedroom!(NPI) What a boost to a guy's confidence! I mean that bedroom guarenteed a good time! And poor Michael looked like he had been going without for a long long time. Hopefully, he'll get rid of the girly motor zines to his office at work, and attract nice girls who don't climb all over a guy before the first date? But then nice girls want to talk and share feelings and maybe Michael isn't ready for that yet.

But Ted was definitely making emotional progress with the cooking lesson. I think Michael is a guy who could bond with a girl over cooking together. Maybe he could do a picnic like that New Jersey police guy, only get to the spot on a cruising bike. He reminds me of that cop a bit- very suspicious until he realizes that his interests are being looked after in a way that they never have before, and probably never will again. And Ted can dress biker cool. Who knew?

Bravo knows how to draw fans....giving the impression Michael hated Thoms choices when in fact he loved what Thom had done....Thom you are a master at what you do...Carson was very thoughtful in giving Michael earrings and necklace...Ted worked hard at trying to calm Micheal in the kitchen always supportive....Jai did an excellent job in bringing Michael together with investment people....Kyan couldn't wait to cut Michaels hair, don't know if I like it or not???? Overall great job guys...you all are masters at what you do and why we enjoy watching every week....

I wonder if Kyan perhaps did mention going to a doctor sometime during that segment and it was edited out. Yes, it was the discomfort in the arm that caught my attention too.

Yeah, Bravo did play with the promo, but I think they've done that before. However, Michael was not very responsive to Thom's ideas while in the store, so it amazed me even more that Thom was able to find a design that this guy would like.

Hi, sharonb: Don't get excited....I'm not Michael, but I was tickled to see your post because I've often thought that old friends and lovers of the SG's must see the show and it's fun to finally hear from one of them.

Michael turned out pretty good thanks to the Fab 5 but he's not really my "type".....too intense for me. I prefer someone who is affectionate with the people around him, has a great sense of humor, is charming and likeable, has dark wavy hair and big brown eyes, does interior design, loves dogs....oh wait....this kind of sounds like someone we know, huh?

I saw D's photos!
I thought it was so hilarious and funny to see the little pony tails in his hair. WHO DID this to Thommee??

Did he yell something in Michael's bedroom?
He looked so adorable as usual in the hip-tip with the flip-flops and his attire.
What did big Thommee's t-shirt say? He so shined in that bright yellow jacket. (You have no idea how many of these types of jackets I have)
And Back at the loft-that outfit-amazing-he ALWAYS shines in any color he chooses to wear.
Please inform me of specific things he said & did. Thanks

Loved this epi!!! I got to watch it in spite of the 'other half' being home. 'Other half' even got into it! I must say the promo editing was a bit misleading. . . and I'm glad to see that Michael actually seemed to be pleased with the results.
Once again, the guys have proved to have the best interest of the SG at heart - not their own visions or egos. How cool is that leather rug!! And the wardrobe additions that didn't stray TOO far from Michael's comfort zone (embrace the black).

I'm with you al the way, Notevayas. I really especially loved what Thom did with all the motorcycle parts--framing them and hanging them. That was such a creative way to acknowledge Michael's passion.
Also, yes, Jai's shirt and pants were a big distraction for me. First I kept trying to read what it said (I'm a little slow sometimes, especially when I'm dealing with the crud) then when I finally did figure it out I still didn't care for the shirt.
And Carson's 'look' was so unCarson but I did like it.
I hope next week we don't have another shaggy guy that needs a haircut. I have liked what Kyan has done the past 3 weeks but I'm ready for another Kyan facial myself.
It was funny at the reveal how Michael couldn't figure out the Cuisinart (I've had the same problem in my time but I don't rebuild motorcycles!).
Michael really came through with the $ men--I could imagine him being moody and quiet and turning them off but he really was charming.
As for Courtney? Yeah, what was that all about?
And yes, Michael have the pain in your arm checked out. Now that you are on the road to business success, you don't want to have a heart attack!
Cheers,

I wasn't too sure about the hair either, but I'm kind of a fan of having some hair. Although as (I think) Notevayas mentioned, anyone who only washes their hair twice a year really needs to have it all chopped off and start over. I mean, ICK ICK ICK. And he did look much MUCH better with no hair at all.

I wondered how much of the disagreements actually got cut out, since at the very end Kyan said something about how difficult Michael was with Thom and Carson. From the promos I expected him to be much worse, and they both seemed pretty adamant about him not being easy to work with.

But he did admit he's a control freak. That's got to be a hard thing for a control freak to do.

I loved the Zen-being-in-the-moment thing Kyan talked to him about. That's something I often try to do, although I'm not usually very successful.

I remember reading (or hearing) an interview with Kyan where he said that in an upcoming episode the SG had a real problem working with Thom & Carson. I'm assuming that this was that episode. Also, for him to say this before the show aired makes me agree with you that there may have been even more than we saw.

Also - show promos like that is a technique that Bravo has done before with this show, and it's done in TV often. And, yes, it's done intentionally to draw people in to watch the episode. Anybody watch 'ER'? Every week it's "the episode that you don't want to miss" and all the dramatic moments are spliced such to make it look much more riviting than it turns out to be.

I read something about Kyan saying that too, and figured this was the one. I think all networks do that spliced-up-drama thing, too. Speaking of spliced up, didn't Bravo do a commercial for this one where it appeared that Michael was telling Thom that his new refurbished home looked boring and stupid (I think that's what he said) but in reality Michael was saying that about his motorcycle pieces being hung up randomly on the wall, pre-makeover. I may have misheard that, but if not, there's a PRIME example!

No, you're absolutely right! That is what they did on that promo. Another example that comes to mind is the football proposal. IMO, from the promo it sure looked like she was going to say 'no', and it was a happy 'yes'.

It's a common advertising technique. Look at any movie trailer. Often the trailer is more exciting than the movie. LOL.

I loved last night's show, although Mike was abit on the picky/noncommittal side when it came to what he liked and didn't like. Good job Fab Five for making him over into a handsome gentleman. With an idea of what he wants for his bike shop.

I'm also hoping that they pointed him in the direction of some good books to help him write a business plan. . . since just receiving the instructions 'write a business plan' is not always helpful unless you know what sort of information belongs in them.

Interesting episode...

Jai sweetie, those clothes were not...umm, wonderful choices to wear to a biker shop. I'm not entirely sure I loved the Madonna shirt, but I would definately throw those pants out. Just me, you can keep them if you want! I particularly thought it was hilarious when Mike didn't know how to expand his business. Part of Business 101 is the writing of the Business Plan and providing it to potential investors!
Carson! After last week's Brud, I expected color from you, where was the color? It was all black and trust me, bikers don't wear just black or white, they have their own infusion of color. Plus, I didn't really find that the outfit he chose for Mike was all that 'biker,' a cowboy shirt?! I was also wondering why Carson didn't wear the Triumph shirt that would have been perfect for this episode, but was rather glad when he wore it for the Hip Tip at the end. Carson did a wonderful job choosing the jewelry for Mike, it was thoughtful and had meaning to the SG. A lot of the gifts given to the SG last for only a little while, but the gift of jewelry that takes after the SG's business, that will last a long time, loner than the business is running. I thought it was interesting that he ended up talking with Mike's mom while shopping and casually mentioning that Mike's p**** was sticking out. I wonder what his mother's reaction was to that!
TED!!! I loved the ensemble that he was wearing! The biker shirt with a button up over it! Wonderful! That would be something that I could probably get my dad to wear, if I could find the right pieces for the outfit. The layout for the party would have been a lot better if the bar had been behind the counter, would have made it look slightly more professional and appealing to the business people. And I thought there was only supposed to be one bike out for showcase, not about five or six that could be knocked over and have the paint scratched off (mucho expensive to fix!).
I didn't really love Kyan's hair this time, but then again, I always prefer it up rather than down. He also looked like he was trying to go for a high school student rather than a grown man. The outfit he was wearing was...for lack of a better word, juvenile. Mike did look a lot better once Kyan got him to shave off his hair so I will congratulate Kyan for that, as well as the stress reducing/Zen thing. Mike mentioned that he did go into his own world when he was working on wheels and that was just a perfect thing for him.
Thom is a genius, pure and simple. Mike gave him practically nothing aside from the approval of the leather sofa and he created a little haven for Mike to go to in order to relax. I like the shade of blue he chose for the walls, it just screams "RELAXATION" and is perfect for a guy who needs to relax.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that its not good to be able to feel stress in one arm. Based on Kyan's reaction to that statement and Notevayas' concern for him to get his blood pressure checked, can I go ahead and think that its not good?
And if that didn't give it away enough, I do feel stress in my right arm. My complication though is that whenever I have my blood pressure taken, none of the nurses can find it. They'll do the whole cuff thing on both arms and almost immediately after they hear the heartbeat (or whatever they're looking for) it will fade away, never to be heard from again. I'm going to guess this isn't normal...

I really liked this episode because, for once, its one that my father won't look at me and be like "Why are you watching this?!" Its one that he can relate to, not only as a biker, but also as a business man. My father has been riding and building motorcycles for the last 40 years and has begun to start making it into a business, restoring English bikes (Norton, Velocette, and Triumph). I'm currently writing the business plan for him as well as creating the logo for it. We're a biker family, the only one that doesn't ride is my mother because she almost had her foot taken off when one of the footrests broke off and she ended up riding for about 20 feet before she could gather enough strength to bring her foot up for the rest of the ride to the hospital.

Thanks Bravo, for the wonderful episode!

Just in case the Thom Wives missed Carson on Jane Pauley Tuesday, I want to let them know that Carson informed everyone that Thom IS a genius. He was talking about how the show is filmed, with the house invasion on Tuesday and they take the straight guy shopping on Wednesday, and he adds that Thom is tearing the house apart and painting and renovating - Jane Pauley breaks in and says "Thom Felicia?" and Carson says, "Thom Felicia. That was a really interesting show, incidentally. Carson's parents and sister were there, as well as half of Allentown, apparently. And George and his mother, who looked fantastic. Both did.

It certainly seems that way. I'm sure if you look through enough photos, you'll see alot of examples of the Fab 5 sharing clothes. I can think of a few examples off the top of my head right now: The black leather pants with a yellow stripe through them (Kyan and Carson wore it), the suede cowboy pants (Carson and Kyan), and there's probably a few more examples.

George didn't say - he wasn't on for very long, but said they had changed his life and made him realize how important it is to take care of himself. And his mom, who was in the audience, said they had changed her life too -she's lost 50 pounds, and looked fantastic - and that they were all part of her and George's family now.

I only saw the last half of the one when Thom was on, and was so annoyed at myself. I forgot all about it, and was even home that day for some reason. I had to set my cranky weird VCR for this one so was SO pleased that it actually worked and I got to watch it.

I cannot remember maybe Alan C. when they've had a challenge for the SG.

Some of the commericals I agree maybe let on that he was more difficult than he really was. But I know he appreciated the help the guys gave to him in the end.

Kyan's hair I guess I could go either way-but I thought he looked hotter back at the loft-maybe the nice tight t-shirt?
And I agree totally that the way the dude's hair looked you had to shave it off to get a chance to start over again and get a healthy scalp. Mudhoney salon-was this the same salon where they took Thom K.?

Thom you did a great job with the SG and obviously in the end you got his vibe for what he wanted.

Jai did good on the connections for the guy and kudos for getting the GF to come. Back to Thomas K.-she reminded me of his girlfriend Lisa.

Ted always so patient with the SG and their cooking capabilities. But good for holding firm when Michael kept asking about it being catered.

Carson pulled through with those gifts of the earring and necklace. And like Thom had a challenge with him dressing.
And sorry Michael I would take a hug from Carson!

I guess it is interesting to see a SG who is a challenge for them to mix it up but I also like to see the ones who appreciate it too.

Drama Queens next week should be fun!

Here is DD's summary of the show-Thommee special moments:
WHEN HE SAID, "does this make my a** look bigger"
WHEN HE SAID, "...whatever stays in L. Vegas...."
COMMENT: I loved the way he looked in that tee & those shiny white shoes(what namebrand??)&-WHAT DID IT SAY?
(in the van)"love it"
Putting the pink rubber band on...maybe someday he'll have to do his daughter's hair and put it in pig tails???
Thommee looked macho and lethal w/ that knif.
When Jai was yo-yoing....Thommees view..
When he said, "leather sofa" that charming STANCE that he does...
WHEN THOMMEE....rolled his eyes and tossed that metal wheel...
WHEN THOMMEE picked up those mags, like in the Andrew Lane eppy....only not naughty-naughty ones....
QUESTION: did Thommee say, "hairy hide"?
DD's LUVS: when Thommee walks/stands w/ his hands behind his back-so gentlemanly he always is...
QUESTION: did Thommee say, "Call ahead and warn them"??
I THINK: he said, "be nice" and laughed, didn't he???
WAS: Thommme squatting and sweating???

Help w/ questions, please for this eppy.

I noticed on D's fansite, Jai(back @ the loft) had a Harly Davidson tee? Any fans of that motorbike?

Hmm, I seem to have missed this one!

Personally, I don't like these bikes. They're heavier than any other bike and if you lay them down, you're going to need another person to get the thing off of you, no matter how strong you are. I prefer Yamaha and Velocette over any others.
