Thanks, Supe. I had no idea where this person's preceptions about Richard Miller were coming from. All I saw with Richard was a really nice guy who loves his wife and kids and just wasn't confident in himself (and with a mother like that, who wouldn't be?). The toupee removal to me seemed more like an initiation into a more confident Richard, not coming out of the closet. To this day, it's still one of my favorite episodes.

If I had a nickel for every happily married man who is more than a "1" on the Kinsey scale, I could afford to buy the whole state of New York for my summer cottage. Have you been hiding under his bed, that you can set yourself as judge and jury of this man's sexuality?

Overt masculinity does not necessarily a heterosexual make. Just look at the public perception of Rock Hudson, before the revelation of his AIDs diagnosis. Conversely, many very heterosexual men do not fall into the stereotype of wiping their noses on their flannel shirts. The SG you choose to malign, specifically commissioned Thom to design a bedroom that could be a romantic oasis and refuge for his wife and him. His wife can accept and love him with or without his toupee. That alone speaks volumes about their relationship.

Deciding to dispense with the toupee is akin to coming out of the closet? And burning it on the patio is an initiation rite? Who ever you are, the kindest thing I can say is that perhaps you should put your overactive imagination in storage.
