It was so funny when Kyan put pink lipgloss on Thom's lips. (didn't he grab Kyan's arm, with his right-not too much lipgloss)
And that cheeky smile-standing with Alex's gurlfriend....(on D's site, 2nd page, 2nd row ..2nd photo)
The alone photo on D's site of Thommie on the hip tip he is like..."I have that many fans on the boards"!

-Kyan had some funny facial expressions on D's fansite
-What was Ted laughing/smiling about back at the loft???
-(hip-tip) was Jai calling all his fans on the boards???

And one more thanks, Supe--a little late but heartfelt. Like those who have already commented I was drop jawed at the suppositions from the poster.
I've commented in the past about the Richard epi--at that time someone (can't remember who and it doesn't matter, it was ages ago!) was saying that Kyan was coming on to Richard! Again--puhleeze!
Yes, Richard's epi always make me a little misty for a guy to love me that much. How fortunate he and his wife are to have each other.

If I had a nickel for every happily married man who is more than a "1" on the Kinsey scale, I could afford to buy the whole state of New York for my summer cottage. Have you been hiding under his bed, that you can set yourself as judge and jury of this man's sexuality?
Overt masculinity does not necessarily a heterosexual make. Just look at the public perception of Rock Hudson, before the revelation of his AIDs diagnosis. Conversely, many very heterosexual men do not fall into the stereotype of wiping their noses on their flannel shirts. The SG you choose to malign, specifically commissioned Thom to design a bedroom that could be a romantic oasis and refuge for his wife and him. His wife can accept and love him with or without his toupee. That alone speaks volumes about their relationship.
Deciding to dispense with the toupee is akin to coming out of the closet? And burning it on the patio is an initiation rite? Who ever you are, the kindest thing I can say is that perhaps you should put your overactive imagination in storage.

I think trolled topics refers to subjects about the show that trolls love to come on to QE boards and spew about. Along with the "Richard M is gay" topic, there's also "QE perpetuates gay stereotypes" and, not so much here as on other boards, "homosexuality is wrong..." I am actually locked into a debate with one particularly nasty troll over at the IMDB QE boards, who still insists that it's a "choice" and a "disease" (A chosen disease? huh?) So I've been unleashing all of my arguing ammo to get through to this guy. Lost cause, I know, but I like to argue.
So, yeah, now that I'm way off subject, that's what "trolled topics" refers to, favorite subjects of trolls to harass people who just want to talk about the show. At least, those are the examples I can think of.

Finally got to see this ep tonight! Yay! Anyway, I thought this was a cute ep. Alex seemed like a really sweet guy, albeit emotional, and I loved how he went for his dreams. When he put that stripey shirt and blazer on, I could've sworn he was Thom's long lost twin!
Jai gave some great advice, it was great to see him really put his acting experience to work in helping this guy. Also, I agree with him about the suit over the brown and black outfit, you could tell that Alex felt alot more confident wearing it. (sorry, Car, you know I still love you!)
Loved the outfits that Carson picked out, though I doubt Alex's closet will be his for long. And how cute was it when he and my darlin' Teddy popped out of the laundry to scare Jai!
Thom's a friggin' genius. What more can I say? Ok, ok, a friggin' gorgeous genius.
Kyan did a great job with the haircut, but I hope he followed his own advice and quit smoking. Kyan, we want you around for as long as possible!
Loved the advice about the homemade truffles from my darlin' Teddy! My mom and I make them all the time, but I never though about melting the chocolate with the hot cream like he suggested.
I couldn't help but get nervous watching the audtion. I have tried out (unsuccessfully) for parts for plays on campus, and my heart went out to Alex for rising to the occastion. It's incredibly nerve-wracking, and can you imagine having a woman like that trying to psyche you out!
Overall, a very enjoyable episode. It's right up there with Richard Miller for me.

This SG was quite the emotional one, but I understand he was living his dream and thankful for the help the FF gave him.
Kyan and Jai's acting scene with Kyan looking up and saying "No!" That was my same reaction when I found out the Learning Annex appreance last month was cancelled, just kidding-maybe, ha! I am liking these earlier episodes because Kyan's hair is longer and he had the five o'clock shadow going on too! Kyan is always so good listening to what the SG needs-if he ever decides to be a therapist sign me on as one of his first patients! Oh, and I wonder too if Kyan is trying to quit smoking also? I read somewhere that Greg doesn't and I know Carson quit too but it's up to the individual but if so-good luck Kyan!
Really liked Jai helping the guy with the acting and seeing Jai playing roles too. I'm sure he really enjoyed doing this for this episode.
Thom did a great job with the apt. with the colors and such so both of them could enjoy and I wonder too how long that closet arrangement is gonna last!
Oh, that glass bowl on the stove! I'm sure the cameraman was saying "Dude, take that off!" Poor Ted must of been having heart palpataions seeing that! Otherwise, Ted did a fine job showing the SG something that was easy for him to make.
Carson did a fine job with the clothes and again was happy to see the fashion show on the bed! And was funny when Carson found out Jai changed the outfit. Mustn't upset Mommy! But all ended well!
Good episode and boy they got their work cut out for them next week!

notevayas replied...
I watched most of the show yesterday. All the Fab Five did their jobs well. I have no problem with a guy being tender hearted, but my gut feeling is that this SG has big problems and needs more help. It isn't just about the uncontrollable crying jags either. I have worked with Greek people for most of my life and I respect that many are very emotional people within the family arena, but this guy and his wife said some things in public that crossed the boundaries, so I am thinking they will not stay together. When a wife puts down her husband in public, things are serious, and it is sort of a way of asking for help and intervention from the rest of the family. Maybe someone should have a little talk with Alex or give him work or make an appointment for him with a doctor. It seems that pursuing an acting career isn't going to help his family, and family is first usually. The guy cleans up nice, but he doesn't seem much of an actor, or strong enough to deal with the almost constant rejection of being in that business. But the whole thing about 'following a dream' makes a nice show, and jerks the tears out of a mostly female audience. I just didn't buy it. And I only speak for notevayas

BRAVO has an open call for NYC taxi drivers to apply to QE for a make better. That sounds REALLY cool! Snooky
notevayas answered...
Just so they don't put out a call for gay NYC taxi drivers or they'd be responsible for the consequences. And unfortunately, I doubt they are looking for a struggling family man from another country. I think they are looking for a taxi driver from Central Casting with an NYC accent and an attitude.
I am a huge fan of Carson, but I am getting tired of Queer Eye as is. I would really like it to improve! I watched part of the show with a guy who sneered most of the way through it, and the scary part is, I didn't have the will to defend it anymore. It had an avant garde edge to it that has eroded. I don't have the figures, but my gut feeling tells me not many men, gay or straight watch it. I watch it because Carson is such a beauty and Ted is cool, but it is not a show I would want straight men getting a significant part of their impression of gay men from. The guys are fantastic but the show is just too UNREAL. Again, I only speak for myself.
And I agree with Supe that thinking this guy is gay, based on a general feel of unease, is ridiculous! If anything, gay guys would be more practiced in blocking their emotions in public. It is a luxury to be able to vent like this guy was doing, a luxury given him by his wife, though her ambivalence was showing..
notevayas
Ted is funny in the opening scene in the Denali when he lauds the Greeks for inventing "gay sex". Ironically, one of the cultures where guys can kiss without it being a sexual thing at all is the Greek!

As much as I liked this ep, one things I did wonder about was Alex's relationship with his wife. The fact that he was so emotional and she seemed so cold struck me as odd. And his aversion to kissing her? One big issue that stood out for me was her taking all those closets. I mean, come on! It's his house too! Seemed like she had some control issues going on there. Not to mention that when she talked about him, her voice was almost deviod of emotion.
If Alex wants to break into show business, he's going to need a thicker skin. Somehow I don't see him handling constant rejection so well. He might also want to work on his diction and enunciation as well. I was suprised his acting coach didn't bring that up.

Hey Notevayas-you know I watched this again and I agree you do have to have a tougher skin to be in the acting biz because of all the rejection. Yes, the Fab 5 helped him put his foot in the door but down the road you gotta accept the rejection. I wonder if his wife will support him through all this if it happens...
And Notevayas like MGK I still like the Kyan Man but more and more I am appreciating that Mr. Kressley! I read that the guy for an aids auction in the Twin Cities donated a day with him-shopping, dinner and a Broadway show. I would of LOVED to have bid on that but just got some new wheels so the money is tight now.

It has to be that the "part" Alex auditioned for was prearranged to go to him. And those people in the "waiting area" had to sign releases and so were "acting" as well. Ick.
I have been a good citizen charitywise. I might bid for a neighbor to rake my lawn, but a day shopping with Carson? If I were single and that desperate to buy his time, I would at least insist to do what I wanted to do! We could hit some yard and church sales, go to my favorite place for a picnic, and then Mr. Kressley could teach me how to ride!

Books: I either give as trade-ins at the used book stores, so that any books I buy will be at the cheaper rate - or I donate them to the library.
Junk catalogues: I put them in the recycle bins. The only magazine I get is TV Guide & I don't think many people care about old issues, so I recycle them too.
Clothes: I tend to give old clothes to the various charity drop-off boxes. Usually Salvation Army, St. Vincent DePaul, or one of the local charities.
Yeah, we have quite a few thrift stores and consignment shops around either where I live or where I work.

I find it excruiatingly(sp?) hard to give up ANY book, even if I don't like it.
Me too!!! And now I have a storage locker full of my mother's books as well. Even going to the used bookstore and TRADING books is difficult for me. I wonder why I have such an attachment to books where giving up other things is fairly easy. verrry interesting and a little obsessive.

I have trouble parting with books too.

If you're still putting clothes in your husband's closet with all the stacks of clothes for charity, you probably aren't donating enough clothes.
You know what's the worst thing of all? The stacks of clothes that need to be given away are... in his closet. Okay, that's it. I'm out of town for a few days, but as soon as I get home I'm making a trip to the Salvation Army. Maybe three.

I can rarely give up a book. And they are the one thing I have even more of than I have clothes. I don't mind books taking over my house, though. You can't have too many books.

I used to spend lot of time at my local bookstore, ordering books, etc. But I am liking my 2 local libraries to read the books and see if I like them before I go buy them at the bookstore.
How many public libraries does everyone have where they live? Any free magazine baskets? Both my public libaries have those free magazine baskets.

I want to rent 2 books that are about $25, and I notified my school/and a local library to order the books. It is better to rent the books and read it to know if you will read again rather than buy a $25 book first
