FAB FIVE STRIKE THE RIGHT CORDS FOR KORD . . .
[/list]
Carson could not have done a better job! The clothes were appropriate for a "Johnny-on-the-spot" sports reporter -- colors were perfectly chosen and vertical stripes flattering. When he got the raincoat on I thought it was a perfect outfit. Now, if he could just keep his collar under control!
It wasn't a show in which he could afford to be too casual or show a lot of personality in the reveal, except for the short time with his girl friend, which I thought went quite well. If they were able to show a bit more of that segment, I would have felt more at ease with the ending. Somehow the producers fiddled with a winning formula and lost the 'feel good' emotion most episodes leave me with.
Thom's apartment makeover wasn't "me," but it was an improvement over what was there before. Besides that, we must remember, a good interior designer creates an environment that his clients appreciate and meets their lifestyle needs . . . not just make rooms look pretty!
A friend of mine says that linguica is a breakfast sausage. Jeez, from the list of ingredients, it sounded more like an any time of day main course to me. And did you note how lean the cuts were before grinding. Kudos for Ted and an inspired recipe. But then, I like all ethnic sausage.
Jai's gift of a computer setup that Kord can make recordings of himself, play them back and critique his own delivery was a really excellent tool to help himself grow professionally. Kyan's prodding to get him out of his comfort zone and start therapy on his tendon should help his self confidence and overcome inertia.
Some persons might have reservations about the $ex toys and their appropriateness for younger viewers. It might be surmised that by their sheer volume, there may be even more of them on the 'cutting room floor.' The lesson for young'uns whose permissive parents let them stay up past their bedtime on a school night is, "You can't judge a book by its cover." The most normal looking and acting folks may have skeletons in their closets, too. So, exercise caution and be sure you know what you're getting into before becoming involved.

I gotta say, I really liked Marina's hair cut; I've actually considered getting mine cut like that. Now, about Kord. I thought it was sweet how Kyan took him in for physical therapy, although I'm not quite sure why Jai didn't do that. It was probably because Kyan knows more about physical fitness. I was kinda disappointed in the hair cut since I didn't see any real improvement. Oh, and as usual, Thom was a genius with the apartment. I gotta say, I think this was the first time he kept the original wall color.

Totally agree! Great choices for the clothes. Glad that producer guy (or whoever he was) mentioned the collar.

I'm kinda glad they did it this way. It's more 'real' to have something not work out once in a while. The episodes where everyting is sunshine & roses (ie, vollyball team just happens to win, the SG just happens to get the winning hit) seen rather contrived. But, in this case, it did work out well for Kord, because he did pull it together for the live shoot & ended up getting a good job!

Actually, many of Thom's designs, while wonderful, aren't my style. But, you hit the nail on the head saying that a good designer meets the client's needs, not anybody elses.

I hadn't heard of this sausage before, but it sounds delicious. I've grown up on homemade German & Polish sausages, and know how good they can be.

Agree! Though I'm surprised that people on the various boards haven't jumped all over Jai for becoming a Product Placement guy for Apple. (Like they've done for Kyan many times. - Gee snark much? LOL)

Not to mention keeping the guy from further problems down the road. I guess I can understand not having PT done due to the lack of insurance, but being a sports guy, he should have known about proper post-surgery care. Anyway, glad that Kyan had the vision to see that he really needed this. I think that Kyan must have pulled a few strings to be able to get an appointment with a PT at a hospital without a doctor's referral & with rather short notice.

Thank you! I've seen many posts throughout the run of this show from people about various comments & such being unappropriate. PEOPLE! This show airs on cable at 10:00 pm. What is your little cherub doing up at that time anyway! Also, isn't there a +14 rating on this show? (I'll have to look at my tape.) And, while the exact time that the Fab5 shows up may not be known, the people know that they're going to be on the show. So, if they didn't want the 5 to find them, they had plenty of time to move them or lock them up.
I enjoyed this episode. Hope Kord does well with the new job!

This was a great episode....another in a long line of great episodes.Thom had little to go on,and what he did was sensational! Ted trying to find the sausage that Kord longed for..Kyan going out of his way to focus on Kords injury and how to strength it. Carson did his usual from rags to success for dress. And Jai did an excellent job in trying to help Kord improve his on camera preformance....as for the mention of sex toys, to each his own...what the heck are kids doing up that late on a school night????

I felt bad when Kord was struggling with his lines, but he recovered nicely. I hope he realizes that even the very best commentators didn't start out that way and he will improve with experience. It looked to me like he has great potential. I was so glad when the guys mentioned Kord's resemblance to Bryant Gumbel....I had been thinking that same thing through the entire episode. Marina was adorable and they looked like a cute, hot, sexy couple. Okay, now for the important part.....Thom.....spanking......ummm, honey, have you been a bad, bad boy? That was so cute....just the right touch of kinkiness. And Thom's hair!!! This man just keeps getting hotter and hotter. Also, I loved Carson's imitation of Paris Hilton....."that's hot".

I thought Kord did very well too. I don't listen to a lot of sportscasters if I can help it, but he sounded VERY professional, even on the tape he gave Jai. And watching him struggle was painful but realistic.
I'm still laughing about Paris Hilton. Carson is great at mimicking brainlessness.

Although I didn't post much about it due to late viewing, last week's episode was a tough act to follow. Most of this one was so much about the SG's job. *Yawn*
I credit some of these recent shows to the power of women. I'm serious. Don't you think QE's HUGE popularity with women is behind all the opportunities, such as the Red Sox make-over and bringing in the sponsors who want to be associated with all the positive energy (translating into sales) that these guys still attract? I see this putting much pressure on the guys to conform to a warm and fuzzy image. Fuzzy as in non-threatening and not political. But I see Ted and Carson as the bulwark against a watered down QE. Ted verbally, and Carson by the power of his personality which he refuses to closet.
my_guy_ky wrote:

But it was good that the boys were on the bed for the fashion show. The GF looks good with short hair and they make a cute couple.
The woman was attractive, but her clothes were very tight, and I bet she would look better dressed in a more subtle style. The Portuguese women I see usually keep their hair long and dress more conservatively and it is sexier for the mystery than to have everything hanging out there like an all you can eat buffet. This woman seemed to genuinely care about the SG and I can't reconcile that with why she would leave sex toys around to be found that obviously embarrassed him. Perhaps she is rebelling against a strict upbringing and enjoys the shock value. It seemed as innocent fun as the Italian ladies line-drying their sexy undergarments in public. It goes to show you that what seems racy can be innocent fun.. it's all in the intent.

I can't believe that they were allowed to show the SG's buttcrack on TV, yet there's all this hoopla over Janet Jackson's boob. Dang! Show Kyan's bare butt next time. Or do it ala Kevin Bacon in that invisible man movie and show it while his legs are slightly apart so I can see what hangs.
Hanging low and to the left.. sorry. I am biased but I don't see anything dirty about showing men or women naked above the waist. It's just a difference of scale really. But in public, women are more vunerable and should be more covered.. but not for decency as much as safety. Bare butts are sexy, but you see that at the beach.. I think what's under a thong should be private in most situations.

Holey jeans, Batman! I'm sorry Carson, but I've seen Kyan in better outfits. Not liking that white belt or the orange polo. My SG has one just like it, but I like him in preppy - Kyan, not so much. At least his hair looked nice and soft. I wanted to bury my face in it. Kyan did look amazing in workout gear during the physical therapy scene, and that physical therapist was so lucky to get to kiss his face. Twice!
This is the first time you haven't blasted or made a face at any woman who gets to touch Kyan. MGK.. those meditation classes that Kyan suggested in "Beautified" must be working for you! I don't notice clothes much unless it's Carson, or someone looks particularly good. This show it was Ted with the best clothes, last show it was Carson. In fact Ted was the main focus of my attention in this show.. Ted in skates Yaaaaaaaaaaay! Ted touching the linguica.. wish it was mine! Ted in the bright floral shirt during the reveal! Woof! Kyan did the SG the most good in taking him to a physical therapist and showing him how to do his own cosmetic for working in front of tv cameras. Jai was very helpful finding him a potential mentor and an audition. Too bad the SG didn't wing it without the camerawoman.. he would have made big points with a potential employer who seemed to expect it of him and was disappointed he did not show that initiative..

The eclectic decor after the MB is not my style, but Thom did a great job! Those lighted nightstands looked interesting. Thom made me laugh when he thought the SG was going to breakdance.
Thom seems to have the knack for matching decor to client. I would be $hit at decorating because I would only do what pleased my eye. I mean he did say that he designed around a doorknocker that he joked must have come from some pre-fab castle.. it was hideous, though I loved this guys African art! When I think of traditional Portuguese decor.. I think of dark woods and tapestries, but the SG wanted a modern style. Driving through Cambridge,(it's near Somerville) it was once pointed out to me as being a Portuguese neighborhood where there were groups of small wooden white and brightly painted houses.. well-kept like dollhouses really. Impressive. And in the town where I worked, the diner sold linguica with one of it's breakfast combos and it was delicious! Portuguese people also have a reputation of being very close to family, religious and have beautiful churches. Too bad that Ted couldn't have asked the SG to cook for family, like in the episode with Rob the photo historian SG, and his flambouyant Godmother.

Is it just me or did the GF remind anyone of Honey from SGirl? The first time I saw her, I had to take a second glance to make sure that it wasn't her.
Jai is beginning to annoy me as well. He's too much of a continuous ad for Apple Computers. He's been giving out the same computer since the guy who made the worst introduction of GF to mother while on the phone ordering booze. Reminds me of the Crest White Strips and the flat screen tv.
When they were doing the little fashion show on the bed and Carson gave him a choice of the blue shirt or the purple, I found it interesting that he chose the purple and then the khaki jacket and pant set. Especially since Jai was wearing the same thing, minus the soft plaid Kord was wearing.
I have to say that Kyan was right in the dressing room, those pants did fit him very well. I'm sure that would be more than enough for MGK or Kyansutra to hide in the dressing room,
As for Carson, I think I would have preferred the print to be on the shirt rather than the pants. He chose great colors for himself though!
I love Ted! He's wonderful! I don't think I can find any faults with him this ep. The skating brought back days of old when I would have birthday parties at the skating rink and everyone would start out slow and falling all over the place.
I liked the knocker that Kord had, though I would have had it on a smaller scale. Be cool if it actually came from a castle, but that's highly doubtful. Thom did a wonderful job, yet again. I love that store he took Kord to, if I ever get to New York, I am SO going there!
I hope Kord is doing well in his career.

Imagine if that dressing room door was like the one in the Thomas K. episode:
Hi Kyan! It's MyGuyKy and Kyansutra, peek-a-boo! Need any help in there?

Yeah!!! (don't remember the skating incident at the moment, will need to take another look, sigh, the sacrifices I must make!) But I loved his shirt!!! Sorta different for him. And of course the sausage opened the door to all kinds of double entendres--very Ted.

Speaking of double entendres--my mind's eye pictured Kord with one big [censored]/Tuck b--b for a minute there. Oh, you mean the door knocker! Sorry. I thought it was funny that Thom really knocked (pun intended) the door knocker originally ("who has a plastic door knocker hanging on their wall" or something like that) and then managed to integrate it into the room perfectly. Also loved that he kept the wall color knowing that Kord and Marina had chosen it themselves and done the painting. I'm with Marina--I LOVED the bedroom!
I hope Kord is doing well in his career.

I think the reason that the color isn't listed is because Kord and Marina painted the room that color themselves.

Hi, Syd! (That's my daughter's name, too!) Welcome to the boards.....as I've said many times before, you'll meet a great group of peeps here. I think the reason the paint brand and color isn't listed in the product guide is because Kord and Marina had done the painting. I know Thom usually uses Sherwin Williams paint, but it's anyone's guess what brand Kord and Marina chose. I agree it was a gorgeous color...Thom liked it, too, so there's not any higher praise than that as far as I'm concerned. Well, I have watched this a few more times since.
Kyan-hey boy, you were getting me all hot and bothered with that talk back at the loft regarding ahem...sausage. Kyan looked pretty preppy I guess I like him looking not so much that way-more like he looked last week. But that smile in the van when he was driving Kord back home-sigh.
The last two weeks he talked about back trouble and now Achille's tendon-Kyan have you been eavesdropping on my past P.T.? I wish! Anyway, the P.T. said the same thing to me that the lady said to Kord-you should be able to put your heels back further. I try to do those stretching exercises too!
Carson-His comment-I brought the "Big Guns" in to help you and "We're gonna double team you". And Kyan saying "Take them off."-oh my! This is the new Dynamic Duo-forget Batman and Robin! Yes, Kyan those pants did fit you very well I must say! And Carson handcuffed to the bed...mind was drifting and Thom did you have to unlock him so soon, LOL!
Jai-Yes, he does seem to be plugging the Apple computers but it doesn't really bother me. I remember when people were going on about Kyan and the Crest White Strips-if it helps pay the bills for QE I don't mind.
Thom-so Thom likes to be spanked, huh? How many Thom wives are in line now?! Again, Thom got the vibe for this couple even with that Zebra rug-totally fit them considering the toys that they found...
Ted-oh yes, the sausage. Glad he found a place where Kord can get the sausage. My Dad was a meatcutter and made the best sommersausage so when relatives would come to visit the first thing they did was go to the grocery store and see my Dad!
Hips Tips were nice too-though someone needs to spray me with water instead of Kyan...this couple was kinky.
Good Luck to Kord on his broadcasting career!
And YEE HAH! Cannot wait for those Texas Episodes-I saw the commercial with the food fight-good lord takes me back to the Brud Episode and the tasty facial!

Look at the pictures in the episode summary here and see if you can find one with those walls, print it (sorry Bravo) and take it with you and ask them if they can come up with something. You may pay extra for a custom color, but you'll get what you want. Good Luck!

THOMY is getting more cutier, more sexy looking!
I thought:
(in the van), when he was singing, "sitting in a tree(kissing..)"
"calm down pumpkin"
putting those nipple pinchers on C & just LAUGHING hysterically
QUESTION: did he say "house of sin" and like spit????
When he laughed and lifted the hyeda bed up
C handcuffed to thge bedpost and later THOMY goes, "okay...god"
The way he was sitting in the van, when Jai was driving
He smiled or something and then said, "gots to go hunny"
"get the dog collar off and put on my pants"
"tonight is a big night for ya"
"Carson...you put the fu-in FUN"
He looked sexy in that pale blue shirt.
QUESTION-what was the white namebrand of THOMY'S white shoes?

I am a only THOMY fan, but, I liked the color of KYAN's shirt-peachish.
I love that color and peach scented lotion, etc

I gotta say, I really liked Marina's hair cut; I've actually considered getting mine cut like that. Now, about Kord. I thought it was sweet how Kyan took him in for physical therapy, although I'm not quite sure why Jai didn't do that. It was probably because Kyan knows more about physical fitness. I was kinda disappointed in the hair cut since I didn't see any real improvement. Oh, and as usual, Thom was a genius with the apartment. I gotta say, I think this was the first time he kept the original wall color.
He kept it before in Sean's episode. Sometimes the landlords don't want the walls painted but in this instance I think he just liked the color - I did too. They must have been watching Thom work and prepared ahead of time.
Kord and Marina were really really cute...and kinky! And watching him rehearse in front of the camera before the live telecast was almost equal to waiting for the PR winner. Thought for sure they were going to ditch him but he made it and good for him! Another feel-good episode...the boys are back in style!

Short hair is so fun for the summer, esp. if you've got really thick hair like myself.

I don't know where they got the specific ones for Kord, but there are some similar ones at this site
www.gusmodern.com
The guys used that company for Sean's episode, though I don't recall him receiving the lighted endtables.
Sorry I couldn't get the exact ones.

I don't know where you can get the exact tables but have you tried Pier One or any other discount store they might have them. I feel in love with those tables too. They substitute for a lamp and there are so decorative.
