I must say, I was totally embarrassed on behalf of all Korean girls watching Taebee, who's behavior on the show was absolutely infuriating! Feeding the lovely Moroccan dinner that Ted arranged TO THE DOG, complaining about the lemon curd, yelling at the guy for putting his feet under her arm during the Thai massage...MAN ALIVE! The truth is, not all Korean girls are high maintenance, uptight, unappreciative, tactless, and oblivious. True, many of them are, but not all. (Ahem, me!)

I loved when he was about to roll down her back during the massage--you could tell he was fed up by her whining/complaining--and he yelled, "DON'T FREAK!" What a riot!

I thought this was a good Ep. I wish that his girl friend would have appreciated the things he was trying to do for her. I would have been happy to be in her shoes.

What a nasty girlfriend. I'd appreciate a guy like that!
Maybe the FAB5 should fix him up with someone new!
My daughter said something funny the other day. She told me that I needed to get a boyfriend so that the FAB 5 could fix him up!

I did not see the lighting sculpture on the shopping guide -Does anyone know where i can find the chandelier / lighting sculpture? Any help would be appreciated

ok, so let's just put an end to this taebee thing...she was a brat, and not appreciative..I don't buy the "shy on tv" thing, since #1 she signed him up and #2 she had a mouth normally reserved for skin-a-max... wow! i could not believe all the beeping that went on...her mouth was awful. if she was so nervous that she forgot her manners, she should have just stayed home. Bad attitude or not, korean or martian, she was just rude ... and could not have embarrassed him more...(*look! he even had to come on and defend her..please!)

Well, I'm 17 going on 18 in one month (yippee, get to do whatever I want!) and I would've been much more supportive of my boyfriend if he'd gone through all that for me!!

You could tell the guys didn't like her to begin with, they usually say how adorable a guy's girlfriend is and she was just an ungrateful girl!!

She could have at least put on a good face for her boyfriend who had changed at her own request but no, she had to sit there and moan all night!
She doesn't deserve him!

On another note, good to hear you like the theatre, FraggleChick, me too! You ever done any acting? I've only been in a school production of Grease as a dancer but I've got the bug now!!

I loved this episode, especially NEMO. My mom had a yorkie named Tina who passed away last year. Ah, the memories....

One thing, I would like a dvd copy of this episode. How can I have the producer, Mr, Scott send me a copy?

any ideas?

thanks

Greetings and welcome, Dennis! There aren't any DVD's produced yet. Wander through the site pages... I forget where is it... maybe the "About US" pages, and get the mailing address of "Scout Productions" and write the producer/creators; David Collins and David Metzler about maybe creating DVD's of the show. If we get enough folks to write... maybe it will come.

Scout (not Scott) was so named because the dear David's were film locations scouts for the movie and television industries.

Welcome to the boards, and I hope you drop by often!
Peace to you today! --De

What's cool is that on their Web site, you can request free samples of the stuff. I have a swatch here now, and I'm strongly contemplating buying some of that stuff when I redo my room.

Wow, That was one for the ages! What a disaster. Rocco was such a badly behaved dog! Let's just run a little checklist of things Rocco did to annoy each of the Fab Five.
CARSON- Ate James's shoe
THOM- Had a 'little accident' on the carpet
JAI- Got out of his cage & ran around
TED- Jumped on the table and ate what was left of the tarts
KYAN- Kyan didn't really have any 'Rocco troubles'
Luckily the Fab Five were a lot better humored than I was by the end. And speaking of dogs, could the girlfriend be any meaner? There he was, making an effort, & she CLEARLY didn't deserve it. This was the first time Queer Eye ever truly went wrong. And although it was entertaining, let's hope it's the last.

Cheers Queers, I LOVE NEMO!!

I thought they did a good job on James but i got so peeved off at Taebee...i felt like giving her a real good kick! lol. She went to the Fab 5 to help her with James and she was so ungrateful for the changes at the end of it! She didn't even attempt to make James feel good. She could've cut the guy some slack! He went to so much effort to treat her better and she critisced him for everything he did. There, i've vented my anger! lol tongue.gif

Regarding posting #5015:

At Thomsteddybear's suggestion I checked out
http://www.yayhooray.com/forum/search/queer%20eye to better evaluate James' (SG) "TooFunny" posting.

In a nutshell, it is the revealing story of what one prospective straight guy had to go through in the candidate selection process. I recommend the site to anyone interested enough to read all four installments that outline written forms, multiple interviews, site visits, and "screen tests" for the would-be candidate. My conclusion is that James either knew more about the show than he admits or was terribly naive.

I submit that the QG staff made a major mistake by not involving James' girl friend in the "work-up" prior to the final filming. I realize it was James' desire to surprise her, but had she been involved and been a part of the process, her reaction might have well been more positive. She could have also given balance to James' perception of her needs and expectations. It might well have affected how the Fab Five proceeded.

And then there is "Love!" Been there, done that! It wears horse blinders that will only let us focus on what we want to see in the object of our affection, turning it into an infection. Good Luck, James!

OMG. A newbie with the ability to gracefully comment on this epi without being snide. (Sorry... you've obviously read the thread... you saw my notes {page 9} and know how I feel about all of this.)

Thank you for an articulate, intelligent post.

I do hope you pull up a chair and come by often. You'd be among the many refreshing new additions here.

Peace and grace to you. --De

Yea, it took me a bit to remember, well i have been drinking my fav tipple.....Whiskey
and lemonade!. But i remember watching the James M episode, over here in England.
James was being so sweet making such an effort, even when things went wrong, and
then amazingly got critiscised by that rude, unappreciative girlfriend of his. I think
a lot of us wanted to give her A) a piece of our mind, and cool.gif, a good smack!, for beingso.....words fail me to describe how she was!. You can't blame a straight guy for
being so dumbfoundedly confused on how to understand us women, but that girl just
took the biscuit. Who wouldn't just love having an effort made for you, and a
romantic effort, not just merely sexual effort at that. Thumbs up for James. Let's
all hope he finds an appreciative girl, who would love his 'tender, make an effort' side. The fab five rule, we queers rule!. I believe the fab five make everything better.

Val in England.

hey, People... are we forgetting ? SHE submitted him to the show, not he himself..and SHE knew what it was all about.. and HEY, there are cameras there, why not just fake it even if you are a lousy girlfriend.? go with the flow, pretend you are having fun..
Sorry, people, just a lousy attitude, but we can't all be delirously, happy, grateful people, like the skater/wife, or mulletman/wife/stepdaughter, etc.

Welcome to our boards, hon! I couldn't help but laugh at your phrase: 'That girl just took the buscuit'! (I just LOVE colloquialisms! He! He!)

I hope you come by often - tipple and all!

Let me tell you, being 18 doesn't feel all that different. If you're still living under your parent's roof, there's still a level of respect that should be paid.

LOL!! We did Grease my sophomore year (I was Rizzo!).

I've been doing a lot of acting; I finally summed up the courage to try out for something my freshmen year (we did South Pacific) & wound up with a major role. I had so much fun, that I'm practically addicted. I'll end up leaving high school doing...ten shows, I think? Yeah: I'm about as big of a theater geek as they come .

Welcome to the forum, hon! I hope you come tell us what you thought about the epi's you HAVE seen!

We are pretty much at the mercy of Bravo's Programming Director. If you want to see an episode, hit the "Contact Us" at the bottom of the page. It appears even when you pull up a message to reply or quote - down at the bottom of the screen. Let THEM know you want to see the epi again, and maybe if they get enough requests, they'll re-run it.

As for this episode, did you read this entire thread? Are you SURE you want to see it?

Anyway, welcome to the forum, and hope to see you around often! Peace and grace to you! --De

carsoning
It's the first episode after the long suspension in HK. It's the first time they make better an Asian as I remember. They've done a very good job. Esp Carson! I love the clothes he picked for James.

It had to win in my book, the episode we all loved to hate.
"dont' be a taebee" was a term we used a lot after this one.
And LOVED the glimpse into Jai's life with adorable Nemo

THE THOUSANDTH MAN -by Rudyard Kipling

One man in a thousand, Solomon says,
Will stick more close than a brother.
And it's worth while seeking him half your days
If you find him before the other.
Nine hundred and ninety nine depend
On what the world sees in you,
But the Thousandth Man will stand your friend
With the whole round world against you.

'Tis neither promise, nor prayer nor show
Will settle the finding for thee
Nine hundred and ninety nine of 'em go
By your looks, or your acts, or your glory.
But if he finds you and you find him,
The rest of the world don't matter;
For the Thousandth Man will sink or swim
With you in any water.

You can use his purse with no more talk
Than he uses yours for his spendings,
And laugh and meet in your daily walk
As though there had been no lendings.
Nine hundred and ninety nine of 'em call
For silver and gold in thier dealings;
But the Thousandth Man he's worth 'em all;
Because you can show him your feelings.

His wrong's your wrong, and his right's your right,
In season or out of season,
Stand up and back it all in men's sight -
With THAT for your only reason!
Nine hundred and ninety nine can't bide
The shame or mocking or laughter,
But the Thousandth Man will stand by your side
To the gallows foot - and after!
