Gary has experienced a lot during his lifetime but we doubt he's experienced anything like his day with the Fab Five. Share your opinions on how our boys did here!

Kyan does not look well. At first I thought he must have had Botox injections, but later I just seemed to get a sense of sadness from him. Did something happen?

I didn't pick up any sad vibes from Kyan other than from what he might have been feeling for Gary and his situation. And I seriously doubt Kyan has been within 50 ft of a Botox needle.....are you kidding? All of the guys were doing their best to support Gary and Robin's amazing spirit, but there were moments when all of the Fab 5 looked a bit serious and upset. I wish the best for Gary and his beautiful family.

Did you notice a tear falling down Thom's face while Gary was giving his "thank you" talk before they left?
Kyan mentioned in his book, "Beautified", that he wasn't very comfortable about the thought of using Botox. (I'll have to check the book for his exact wording - anybody have it available?)
Gary is an incredible person with an incredible will. And, for his wife to support him throughout the entire experience is just heartwarming. I just wanted to hug them both!
Nice episode!

I have to agree with Tomasulo.......I don't think there is anything wrong with Kyan, I just think the episode last night was extremely moving and they just showed it in their expressions....and that tear....well we can't even go there.....I lost it...just Gary and his wonderful supporting wife...and their family....what a fantastic show, very inspirational.
P.S. - Please consider being an organ donor, I am. It really is a great thing to do.

Okay, I'm gonna change the Kyan What's Wrong Thread here to this.
How did anybody like the segment where Kyan was with Gary's wife at the spa? She deserved some TLC too. And as on previous posts about the failure of "Straight Girl" this segment proved that this can be done with our Fab 5 which I prefer!
Yes, this episode was very touching and emotional. I know someone with MD who has lived WAY beyond when they said she would. These people are to be admired.
And back to the previous postings I don't think there is anything wrong with Kyan-was that first poster indicating his weight or what? And sorry I really can't see him using Botox either. I like him just the way he is!

I was a tad disturbed by Kyan's visage in the beginning of the episode also. As the story progressed, either the camera angles or the lighting were more flattering to him and I relaxed my concern.
The lesson of this program, for me, was to "live in the present," and do all that one can to maintain its momentum. The future is not ours to know and we should focus on positive actions and attitudes. We owe this much to those around us, and more importantly, to ourselves.

SA, you are absolutely right. As most of you already know, I was widowed when my husband, Tom, was killed on a motorcycle. It seemed like one moment we were on the phone talking about what he wanted from the Italian deli....later that night, I was at the hospital being told that he wasn't going to live. With our children by my side, my last "I love you" was whispered in his ear just before the doctors removed all the tubes and machines that were keeping his body functioning....it was evident that his spirit had already continued on its journey to the other side. Gary and Robin are aware of how valuable their time together is and they can still show each other their love. This isn't a dress rehearsal, folks, this is life. How lucky that they are able to treasure every moment even in the face of so much adversity. This was another memorable episode.....who can forget Thom's tears?!? I love you guys.

In addition to his tears, I just remembered another special Thom moment......
Ted pointed out that Gary hadn't taken the skin off of the garlic before chopping it....Thom: "He had a double lung transplant!"
Kyan pointed out that Gary didn't use an adequate amount of hair product.....Thom: "He had a double lung transplant!"
Adorable!

Thom is extremely sensitive and perceptive. No doubt one of the reasons he is so successful in his own design business is because he listens to people.....he REALLY listens. And he has the ability to listen to what they're saying as well as what they are NOT saying. This was particularly evident with Gary (and Ray Steele, too). Thom heard their fears, needs, and concerns for their families as well as for themselves and it's obvious that he respects that kind of courage.

And regarding that single tear....
Ted: "Hey who are you two?"
Kyan: "Yeah, we're filming our reveal."
Jai: "Yeah, we are filming our reveal and it is quite moving, I don't think you belong here."
Carson: "Well, I have to say that I just love that red jacket."
Judy: "Thanks Carson."
Ted: "Carson! Now you must answer us ladies, what are you doing here."
Deb and Judy: "Why we are members of an elite group of women called Thom's Wives and we have come to assist Thom in his time of need."
Kyan/Jai/Ted/Carson: "Huh?"
Carson: "By the way...uh....you there."
Deb: "Me?"
Carson: "I love that deep blue top you have. It goes perfectly with you black slacks with the blue pinstripe in them."
Ted: "Carson, for the love of god."
Thom: "Oh no, not you two again."
Deb and Judy: "Thom, we have come to wipe away the lone tear that has found it's way onto your cheek."
Thom: "But I'm perfectly capable of wiping away my own te......wait a minute, you're not going away are you?"
Deb and Judy: "Nope."
Thom: "Okay, go ahead wipe away my tear."
Deb: "Gladly. Here you go, I have a tissue....hey!"
Judy: "Just a minute! I think he was looking at me. Thom, here you go, I have a tissue...."
Deb: "Out of my way. Thom, I'm coming to wipe that te....."
Judy: "I don't think so, get out of my way."
Thom: "Oh brother, here we go again."
Carson: "Wow this is getting good."
Ted: "Carson!"
Carson: "Okay...geez."

Thom: I don't quite understand.....who asked you to take care of me? Did someone hire you?
Deb: We're...uh....nurses...yeah...that's it...nurses.
Thom: That doesn't exactly explain your outfits.
Judy: These are uniforms...nurses uniforms.
Thom: Well...you look more like you're wearing costumes from the Pussycat Dolls.
Deb: We're from a special nursing division. Please try to remain calm while we care for you. See....we even brought our bag of nursing tools.
Thom: I recognize the stethoscope....but what is that?
Judy: It's for taking your blood pressure.
Thom: It looks like fur-lined handcuffs.
Judy: Much more comfy than that old fashioned vinyl thing.
Thom: And I've never seen that kind of ointment before....
Deb: It's a special creme.....a favorite from Egyptian times.....invented by Cleopatra, I believe.

OH, I can totally relate to the sinus problems! I take daily meds, do sinus flushes & such and sometimes nothing works! My yoga instructor told me that the headstands we do is suppose to be good, but all it does put too much pressure and I hold the pose very long.
Naomi, I recall you mentioning a while back that Kyan had a sinus infection.

As a mom to an acive one year old with CF, I am so pleased that Queer Eye featured Gary and his inspiring story. It's wonderful that awareness of this illness is increasing. I'll admit I haven't watched the show yet (too emotional) but I am so thankful that the episode exists.

e
it was in the hip-tips most of the recipes end up there
INGREDIENTS
1 pound shrimp, peeled and de-veined
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
3 cloves garlic, chopped
salt and pepper
1/2 cup Parmigiano-Reggiano, grated
3/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
Preheat oven to 500 degrees, use convect feature if your oven has it. In a medium bowl, combine first four ingredients and season well with salt and pepper. Add Parmigiano and breadcrumbs and toss well to coat shrimp evenly. Spread onto a baking sheet and cook in oven for 5 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Sprinkle evenly with remaining lemon juice. Skewer shrimps with rosemary skewers and serve right away.
