Did Danny do alright with this "task?" What about the Fab Five?
tomasulo
Wow!....That was different! I can't wait to watch it again so I can get a better look at Thom's legs when he was wearing the white shoes with his pants rolled up! I loved how Ted was bustin' Danny's chops about the food. The Donald seemed very personable and the Fab 5 seemed really comfortable with him. This was fun!

I thought about you while viewing Thom's legs, tomasulo! I want to know where shoes like that come from, too.

This certainly was different. I've got to watch it again too. I did think they seemed to be doing an awful lot of Danny's work for him. He wasn't really doing much of the delegating - it was more people telling Danny what he needed to do and that he needed to delegate and then he'd go try.

But I'm a terrible delegater myself. I also don't get the whole Apprentice thing. Business just goes right over my head.

It was kind of funny how, for once, they didn't all five talk at the same time while in the boardroom. And I loved Ted mentioning how difficult it was to manage them - "It's like herding cats!" Thom: "We all have ADD!!"

And Ted called those PR womem Jai's angels - has he been reading these boards????

womem??? Make that WOMEN. I wish we could edit our posts. Especially those of us who are also ADD and keep getting distracted.

I haven't seen the eppy, but, saw D's photos!
All I have to say is seeing THOM in a black suit, all professional businessman, wadda a hottie!
He is always so the #1 Fab 5 cutie looking boy!
As Car said on the J. Pauley show, I think, "Thom's a GENIUS!"
luvsthom
I'm telling you, I played that part about five times after the show ended, just to see Thom's face, while he's dancing to his own tune......and when he's in a suit and tie....my god.......and I also have to say I love Carson's hair........and I also loved Donald Trump with the guys, he truly seemed to like them....all in all, it was different, but I liked it.

Hey, anytime I can see Thom dancing around like that, I'll take it. It looks like we are in rerun mode.....for a while.
totallybisexual
I like Danny's look I'm glad they didn't change it too much and Kyan being in charge on sound check what was he thinking. I liked how thay took a que from another reallty show at the end

Does anyone know when the new season will start? Ghod, it hasn't even been 24 hours and I'm already jonesin'!

I give it a 'meh' just because it didn't feel like an organic make-better show so much as a network-coordinated crossover show (The Fab 5 meet The Donald! Next on NBC!). And while Schoolhouse Rock does sound like a nice idea for a charity, it's got a long road ahead of it, judging from its sweaty, indecisive, overgrown teenager of a charity organizer.

I thought the funniest thing was that none of the Fab 5 seemed to give a tinker's cuss about the big event, and Leisure Suit Larry couldn't keep them in line. It's a lesson in when crossovers go horribly wrong.

That whole crossover thing occurred to me too. Anybody remember the ghastly "Good Morning Miami"? Or whatever that was called. And the only time I've ever seen The Apprentice was when they made that brief appearance.

I did think all the ADD wandering around the Fab 5 did was hysterical. And since they entertained me, I was okay with the shady concept!

You know I do have to say, and don't get me wrong, I have loved the newer episodes (I'm sorry I'm a sucker for Thom crying.......it kills me)...anyway I have to say that I do miss the old formular a little. I've been watching the DVD's and remembering the old days.......

I miss the old formula too, although I realize completely that they couldn't keep that same format for all these episodes. For one thing, the element of surprise is long gone. But, hey, I'll take what I can get!

I agree with you. I've never watched the Apprentice, have no desire to watch it. I felt manipulated in this one by Bravo, NBC, and Trump.
That being said, I liked how our boys seem to have no icons. They didn't let the Donald walk all over them and they didn't fawn all over him (must be a first in his experience). They pushed Danny to do what he needed to do--when the food wasn't happening, Ted didn't jump and say, oh, I should have done that--he held Danny accountable for his communication skills (or lack thereof). Same with Kyan, he quickly told Danny that there was another person (Jai) with better skills for the job delegated to him. This should lead Danny to think and observe his team before delegating.
I will say that Danny's passion was very well displayed and paid off when he approached the furniture folks. (Yeah, I know, the decision to donate the furniture for the evening was in the script--but Danny presented his case well--it was good practice for the real thing down the road).
I'm pretty tired of the greasy long hair episodes--I don't quite know how our guys can comfortably handle some of the SG's hair!
I was very glad that Jai was back to what he does so well--I was beginning to think they had convinced him that he was limited to passing out laptops.
I was actually surprised by Carson's wavy locks.
All in all not the best show this season, but still the FF always pull it out and make it pleasant.
And altho' I've never watched the real thing, I did giggle at the way they portrayed those 'reality show vignettes' again--tongue firmly placed in cheek!

This one made me wonder how much IS planned ahead - they used to be able to get by very easily with the Suspension of Disbelief thing so that it seemed at least like it could be all happening in one day. I mean, we knew it took three in reality, but you could pretend it was just one. But this one was really stretching it - they got those kids there ready to play from Philadelphia with a few hours planning?? That furniture place handed stuff over and agreed to take part in an event that EVENING?? It all was a little much, even for three days.

Yeah, I'm SuperPoster today. I'm sick of my job and dying for distraction, so keep hitting "reload!" "reload!" And I'm trying to drive Notevayas insane!!!

Where IS he???

Today is raindog's I hate my job day. Well, raindog, I love my job!
I been taking care of business.. and working overtime la la-
And this with no salary but lots and lots of benefits!

Well, I read all the posts and they started out positive, and then a few people had some doubts. This show is like popcorn at the movies..
It starts off light and fluffy. Then the butter flavor makes you queasy. You run to the bathroom and vomit and are left with this empty feeling.

I held back from posting, because I was first to post last week, and I didn't much like that one either. Also, I did not watch the entire episode. I turned the channel halfway through to a PBS special on ABBA that ran from 10:30 to 12. I have never done that before!

Anyway, this is what I posted on CarsonKressley.com on the Queer Eye topic, Episodes thread..

Post subject: How low can they go?

------------------------------------------------------------

KCee he he..

Maybe that's why I made 3 little posts, to balance out that I sort of knew that I'd be a minority opinion. Me? a minority?

I agree that I am for anything that would benefit kids. But don't you think kids get enough rock'n roll? I would rather write a check for math wizard mentors or some kind of geek squad for the schools. Music lessons are very expensive. I think the money would be best spent on teaching music appreciation to a whole school!

I know that savvy public relations people organize these glitzy bashes to get self-serving people to part with their advertising money this way, instead of spending it all on media more directly or through an agency. And some individuals would probably not contribute to causes without this ego stroking. But I personally am not interested in watching all the behind the scenes planning for one of these events. It's somebody's job, sure. But I don't want to watch an accountant account, or a banker bank either.

I want to watch the Fab 5 rock someone's world.. not help a bunch of media [expletive deleted] use each other, even though a few children may benifit somewhere in the end. This is not what charity is all about for most people, nor should it be encouraged. Charity is many potluck suppers and raffles, not a party that eats up half the money raised, where people pay more for their outfits than the check they donate is worth.

If they made some kind of deal to be on The Apprentice in exchange for hosting "The Donald" on Queer Eye, it was a bad deal because Queer Eye did not need the publicity. It cheapens Queer Eye - an award winning show in it's own right to be affiliated with that joke on two legs!

I don't blame the Fab 5. They could not have much creative control outside of their own segments.. and Kyan seems tied to White Strips, so maybe even that is not entirely true.

Anyway, thanks for the news about the Project Runway season coming out out in November. Something nice and boxy for under my tree this holiday! (Though, knowing me, I'll wrap the empty box and watch the DVD's early! And when Queer Eye comes out in seasons, I will know to buy only Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, and stop at Queer Eye. That way, I can pretend that they never changed the music or the format or trashed the soul of the show.

Meanwhile I'll keep watching out of morbid curiousity to see.. how low can they go?

THERE you are! Good analogy, even though I'm going EWWWWW now. Especially since someone just burnt their popcorn in our microwave.

I'd watch them sit and read the phone book, but I'm getting a little worried when the core audience starts drifting off to watch PBS. Yikes. And although I haven't watched enough of The Apprentice to form an intelligent opinion, Donald Trump strikes me as being annoying and abusive, which is totally like all the other reality shows and totally UNLIKE Queer Eye, which has always been an Anti-Reality Show, in a way.

Of course maybe that's why they were all wandering around enjoying themselves instead of being caught up in that whole Team Brain Clone thing.

How can viewers contribute to the School Bus Rock Foundation? There doesn't seem to be a website. Does Bravo have this information?

Well, the episode description on the main site here gives the website address as www.schoolbusrocks.org. However, I just checked the link and it doesn't seem to be working. Maybe they're updating it.
JAIMAX
I've been watching QE from episode 1 and am an extreme Jai fan. The new episodes are different but still brilliant I think. They give the guys more leave way to display their talent. Anytime I can see Jai in a suit and tie is great entertainment for me.
totallybisexual
I wach the Apprentice as well I thought it was a nice blend of both shows I liked the fab 5 commenting about the job Danny was at the end
design_daddy
I have 2 magazine clippings of Jai that I would be happy to send to you.
kyansutra
Yes, this was a different format. I liked it but was still a little uneasy too. For one just one Fab 5 guy doing a tip at the end of the show?

I did enjoy the delegating of the tasks and I just so laughed when Ted said it's like herding cats. Being a catsitter I know what's he's talking about!

And also when Kyan was telling the guys when they were up on the stage fooling around with the mics why they weren't stuffing the gift bags and Carson said "Who died and made you Stalin!" Also Kyan putting that red carpet out and then it downpours!

I don't watch "The Apprentice" so I didn't know the SG at all. But the guys looked very nice in the boardroom at the end and were not itimidated by "The Donald."

And I also liked the guys talking to the camera as "Team Unbelievable" in casual wear-esp. Kyan in the t-shirt and jeans. I like guys dressed well too but nothing gets me like the former if it's done well!

Okay, now the drought begins. Is everybody breaking out their DVD's now? And if Project Runway is coming out with a season DVD I STILL hope that there will be full season sets of QE down the road.
luvsthom
Hey not to worry....according to Kyan, the new season will start in the fall......so don't give up hope,...he says that they will be doing new shows, including several "wedding" episodes....so we'll see.......but I guess in the meantime, break out those DVD's!!!

YEH! thanks luvsthom and Kyan for the news! DVD player is warming up right now...

I don't have the DVDs what ever will I do

ummmmm buy them
design_daddy
I laughed at THOMMY BOI, when he was shaking his dance moves with those shoes and he looked very, very handsome in that black suit and tie.
What did you think of it when THOM said to Ted, "pipe down old lady"
design_daddy
What do you think was up with Jai having the ONLY hip tip? Where the rest just too tired or something? Maybe they didn't want to do their hip-tip.
As always I look forward to seeing THOM's smiley face.
adambravo
What a waste. While the charity is a nice idea, the blatant (and vaguely incestuous) nature of this crossover episode kept intruding. Danny had his 15 minutes of fame and blew it, for obvious reasons: he's lazy. Big idea, big plans, and he expects the Fab 5 to do his work. The subjects in the previous half dozen episodes were so much more deserving.
candozier
It would be great to have DVDs of all their seasons. I think the QE (and Kyan) fans deserve it! lol
