Anyone know what town Joe lives in? I love his townhouse and am currently looking for something like that in the NYC vicinity.

Russell Watson singing Ave Maria......it doesn't get much better than that! Joe's face said it all. I'm a mom and I promise you, Joe, your mother's spirit was there....she wouldn't miss that! Fab 5, you outdid yourselves....St. Bart's and the NY Public Library....amazing!

Hi Rigger...I'm one of the S/G's whose life has been changed by the Fab Five. Please email me at kilcool7@aol.com, I might be able to help you.
Tomasula, you're right....that was a great moment, The Ave Maria was sung at my wedding and I know my wife was looking down from Heaven while I was watching the episode. Have a Merry Christmas everyone.

Oh, John, you are so wonderful! How fortunate your wife was to have had a husband with a heart like yours. Happy Holidays to you, my friend.

I'm sorry, so far these episodes are poor shadows to the previous series. Again last night it seemed like every one of the five were intent on promoting, showing and finishing their segment with nowhere near the care or thought to building relationship with the couple. The lavish gifts and venues were overwhelming but COLD! Again, not until the segment from the loft (I agree with you, Notevayas, I'm not crazy about the new digs, either--very cheap looking) did I see any thoughtfulness or emotion (and I'm not asking only for tears!) with regard to this couple.
Carson is not being sassy (except for the comment regarding the shoes, "I know you're going to say something about the shoes" (or whatever), he's just pushing clothing. He was cute in the wedding dress--one light moment.
Ted isn't cooking!!! He's pushing whiskeys, wines, and fancy catering. The cake WAS amazing!!!
Even Thom isn't really doing a lot of decorating--yes he did some exciting things with the townhouse a week ago, but last night he was showing off huge spaces--cathedrals and the library. I think he did have an interesting piece of information about the history of the buildings but still!!!
Kyan is probably the most intimate with Joe in that he spent time with him in the bathroom discussing the facial product. But even there--I didn't see the sensitive probing and information I expect.
Jai tried to get Joe to write his vows, he was gentle about his encouragement and gracious when it didn't happen, but again, I've seen Jai sit with single guys and work through the process.
And the couple--until they were really in front of the priest I really didn't think it was going to happen. It seemed more like the bride and her friends were playing Barbie doll at the bridal shop, Joe and his pals were hanging out in the menswear section 'cuz there was nothing good on TV.
As several of you commented on the 'sneak preview' it sure didn't appear to be a match made in heaven or even a commitment to anything but a really fancy expensive party.
However, once they were in front of the priest, the Ave Maria having touched Joe to the point he crossed himself, the bride and groom did begin to look like a husband and wife--the whole point of a wedding. And the poem the best man read--I really hoped at the end of his reading he would say 'this was written by Joe.' It was quite a touching thought.
I wonder how the couple were able to marry at St. Bartholomew's--I haven't been involved in a wedding in years where one could just rent a church for the day--most ministers and priests now require prenuptial counseling because they really are expecting marriages for the long haul.
The best statement I heard all evening was at the end of the evening when Ted toasted the wedding and then toasted "Adam and Steve" A poignant comment, and one several of you made earlier--I could almost feel each of the five's thoughts as they watched this lavish, sumptuous event and put it into their own life experience.
Maybe one of the weddings they do WILL be a gay wedding (hopefully not Ted and Barry, only because I would hate to have their relationship exploited by Bravo/NBC).
Blessings,
SLB _,,/
p.s. So good to see you, De, and thanks for the Christmas card.

Their wedding will always have a very special meaning. Not because Laura waited 10 yrs.for her guy...but Joe was helped by 5 of the kindest and talented men of our time.I would love to see them doing Laura's shower as Thom had stated.

A wedding on this grand scale needed an epic story behind it. Just think how wet our faces would be it the couple was reunited after a fiance returned from Iraq or Afghanistan! This type of fairytale wedding needs a Cinderella and a Prince, not a sorority girl and a dunderhead!
I'm sure they will scale down the other weddings for those they deem less "high end". It will be interesting to see what couples they see as less deserving of a cathedral and luxury bash..
I know some will think me "sour grapes", but I really miss being excited about a new episode of Queer Eye. Now I am excited to see Carson talking about his children's book on Conan O'Brien's show. I will be so happy if Carson gets a show of his own like Ellen Degeneres! But, although Queer Eye for the Straight Guy was always introducing us to interesting products and services.. (anyone else discover the pleasure of stone massage?!) the new Queer Eye Season is as cold as an INFOMERCIAL and just as exciting.... so far..

I understand where you are coming from...isn't it the products and people the FF are given to work with, the fault of Bravo and the producers. Actually what I would be interested in seeing is how they would help celebrate a gay couples union. Carsons book is terrific and every child and adult should read it...

I just watched the video for the next one - it looks more like the QE I've missed. Veterinarians! Dogs and cats and a really sad house that they've apparently tried to fix up and failed! I think I'll enjoy seeing a couple who are involved in something beyond themselves, actually. Not to disparage Joe and Laura, and I'm sure editing is to blame, but they just didn't come across as terribly interesting people to me. They didn't seem to be lacking for funds and I'm sure could have thrown a big fancy wedding on their own, although perhaps not at St. Barts and the library.

Although I'm a sucker for weddings, I have to agree that this couple was a bit lackluster....or at least that's how they came across on t.v. They might be wild and crazy maniacs in the real world for all I know. I don't think it was the fault of the FF. Of course, Thom could pretty much stare off into space for the entire hour and I'd still tape the show and watch it 47 times!
Anybody out there able to come up with the name of the song that was playing just before Laura's parents arrived at Joe's front door?

At the end of the episode where the guys are watching from their loft, I noticed a beautiful heart necklace on Jai. Can anyone tell me where he got it? I looked at the Queer Eye store and did not find it and tried a general search on the internet with no results.
Thanks,

Have y'all checked out the Joe U. outtakes that Bravo has shared with us in the Videos section? Wow, the one with Thom driving the Denali and having an incident with another driver was really exciting!

Oooooh, thanks for the alert, tomasulo! Those were lots of fun - good idea, Bravo!!!
Carson should really know better than to ask a kid how old he looks. When my niece was 8 or so, she totally believed it when I told her (KIDDINGLY) that my best friend was 50 - in reality she was barely 30. My friend was quite shocked herself. And not in a happy way.

Hey, I loved the poem that the best man read. Does anyone know who it is by and where I can get copy of it? Does anyone who taped the show mind typing it up? Thanks a ton!

I am in the midst of planning my own wedding and, although there was very little I could realte to at my socio-economic class, there was an idea that I wanted to remember for my special day. Of course, I cannot. I'm thinking it related to the way that guests located their tables at the reception and I seem to recall thinking that it was a very clever/cute idea. I just can't think of the actual process. Can anyone help?
