What did you think of the Fab Five's first ever ambush wedding?

The guys showed what you can do with little money and alot of imagination. Down home and simple just like the 2 vets. I especially liked when everyone brought in their pets they were all adorable both man and beast!!

I yelled "PACO!!!" so loud when Thom entered the loft that I scared my own dog! By the way, Paco, my little Agatha is a hot little Chihuahua mix and she thinks you're a hunka-hunka-burnin' love and would share a bowl of kibble with you anytime! Christian and Suzanne have a great group of friends and family.....which includes Stanley and the rest of their "kids". Thom once again worked his magic with the decorating. The FF may have a whole new career as wedding planners. I'd love to have them do my wedding.....if Thom ever proposes!

I liked this one MUCH better than the fancy wedding. It was a very nice contrast, showing how you can have a much less expensive wedding that's still beautiful and - most important - fun. The whole thing just seemed more fun for everyone involved. I did wonder if it's a really good idea to surprise someone with their very own wedding - but Suzanne seemed to be very happy about it once the shock wore off.
The wallpaper, though - couldn't decide if I liked all those weird birds. It was kind of... busy, maybe. And dark.
And how cute were all the animals?? And Thom saying he hoped they would all be together until their wheels fell off... awwwwwww!

I agree with what has been said already. It was like coming home to watch this episode. The guys were back to being fun, helpful, sensitive, creative. Carson was snippy and silly, Thom was appropriately 'haaarified' at the strange wall paper dilemma, Ted was back to doing creative things with food and, as important, allowing the straight guyS do creative things with food, Kyan was showing his sensitive side and helping Christian create a lovely wedding experience and Jai, bless his heart was also listening and communicating with his sensitive ear--arranging for the vocalist to write a song just for Christian and Suzanne that incorporated their love phrase.
I thought the 'barn' was perfect for such a wedding and it was all set up so beautifully. There was so much joy and love on display in this episode as opposed to simply lavish opulence.
And yes, having Stanley as well as Paco, Nemo and Dori attending the wedding was perfect.
I thought it was neat how each of the FF interacted with the dogs--both Christian's and Suzanne's as well as Jai's and Thom's.
Did you notice during the reveal Carson (I believe) and Kyan holding hands? Isn't it wonderful that there is such a good friendship among the guys that this can be a natural expression of sharing a meaningful moment?
I sincerely hope that with this wedding QE is back on track for another bang-up season.
I know that there is one more wedding episode in a couple of weeks but then aren't there going to be several more episodes of one kind or another? This wasn't just a short 'wedding focus' interlude before another long hiatus was it?
I also loved the toast to their friendship continuing 'til the wheels fall off.
Cheers, and happy holiday--whatever you will be celebrating.

I must admit I was quite surprised to read all the positive comments about this episode. I just finally got around to watching it yesterday (tivo'd) and was appalled by the audacity of the Fab 5 and Christian. While it was clear that she loves Christian very much and was happy to be marrying him, I did not for one second get the impression she was truly happy that her entire wedding had been planned and scheduled for her. Most women dream of that day and have very specific ideas as to how they want it to play out. While the venue was lovely and the ceremony was so very sweet, it was not HER dream. She deserved to have the bridal showers, the choosing of bridesmaids and dresses/flowers/cake/invitations, etc. Her mother and father deserved to be a part of the planning - at the very least, they should have been included. Just because they are not a traditional type of couple doesn't mean she wouldn't have still wanted to make those choices herself or with Christian. I don't recall her ever saying she didn't want to plan a wedding. It was that they didn't really have the time or money. A woman's wedding day is hopefully once in a lifetime and the Fab 5 and Christian selfishly robbed her of HER day to make for good tv (they even chose her dress!). She looked as though she was saying it was all beautiful (which it was) to be polite. I would have done the same thing but would have been ready to cry my eyes out on the inside. They took HER day away from her and then put a camera on her and asked, "Do you like it? Are you happy?" What was she supposed to say? Men simply do not understand that for a woman, a wedding is about more than just that day - it is also about sharing the weeks or months building up to it with friends and family and being showered with attention for such a special event. I concede that the Fab 5 tried to incorporate as many things as they could that they thought were reflective of the couple's personality and that was great, but it just doesn't make up for the fact that she will never get that opportunity back. And before anyone says that the wedding is about more than just the bride, I get that but when it comes to planning the details of that day, let's be honest - most men are happy to leave it to the women who are bursting with ideas. I'm just about as disgusted by this as I was by that AWFUL wallpaper Thom used! That was a total miss...
In closing, PLEASE DO NOT EVER SURPRISE THE BRIDE WITH HER WEDDING AGAIN!

Hi, julesinva.....and welcome. Wow, what an entrance! Although I don't completely agree with you, I did think Suzanne was sort of put on the spot, but she stepped up and was a really good sport about it. Note to the Fab 5: feel free to plan a surprise wedding for me whenever you like. I just want to be able to choose the groom......Thom Filicia, of course!!!

You're sort of generalizing a lot, aren't you? 'Most men' do this and 'most women' do that. How do you know the bride's actual feelings about wedding planning, or the groom's? Maybe she found planning the wedding more of a hassle than anything, and was actually glad to have the stress taken off of her. Maybe planning the wedding was something he wanted to do. It's a whole lot different once you take it out of the realm of 'most people do this.'
And also, the wedding is meant to be the BRIDE'S day? Um, what? So it's not about celebrating the union of two people who love each other and want to be together, it's so the bride can show off her pretty dress and get cake? I'm sorry, that's just a very strange way to look at it.

You know, if it was me, I'd be shocked at first but REALLY glad to have someone else doing such a beautiful job of it and saving me all the headaches that go along with planning a wedding. I never do seem to fall under that "most women" category, but I certainly never spent my entire life dreaming about the perfect wedding. Honestly, I gave it VERY little thought, and when I did get married it was much more along the lines of what they did - simple and fun.
Not all women grew up wanting to be a fairy princess. I'd venture a guess that since Suzanne is a vet working long hours and living in a house with the wallpaper torn off the walls, her priorities aren't the same as those mysterious "most women" who are obsessed with their wedding day.
I'm sure Christian knows her well enough to know if she had long-time dreams of planning a fancy wedding or if she'd be pleased with the surprise wedding.

I enjoyed this episode. I just saw it as a rerun on June 4th. I am trying to find out the location of the wedding in the episode. I loved the venue but missed when (if) they said/listed where the wedding was held. I couldn't find this information on the website either. If anyone knows where the wedding was held, please let me know.

Sean!!! How you doin' ? I liked Christian a lot. When I was a kid, I wanted to become a veterinarian so I loved Christian's episode. Since you said you met him last week, does that mean you're going to be in the reunion show?

I wanted to be a vet when I was younger too...but I couldnt take seeing animals with injuries..later on I actually had TONS of pets..mostly reptiles, and I was considering being a herpetologist for a while, but that fell through as well.. (

(I hope Christian doesn't mind if I borrow his thread for a moment so I can "talk" to Sean.)
Thank you for letting me know about the reunion and Thom. I so wanted to be one of the "wives" in the audience but I couldn't afford the trip. I did manage to squeeze out enough cash to take a trip to Las Vegas while the Fab 5 were filming the 3 Vegas episodes. Sweet, sweet Ted e-mailed the dates to me and told me they'd be staying at Caesar's so I booked a room and jumped on a plane. My room was gorgeous and I had a great time in spite of the fact that I never managed to hook up with any of the guys. I hate to admit what a bumpkin I am, but I seriously had no clue how huge Caesar's Palace is. I'm still having nightmares about the casino carpeting and that surreal sky. I haunted the bars (Shadow Bar, Pure, and Cleopatra's Barge) but only succeeded in increasing the volume of liquor sales for which I'm sure Caesar's is very grateful. Then in my inebriated state, attempted to bribe desk clerks to pass along notes for Ted and Thom, as well as a DVD of "The Constant Gardener" for Thom. I'll probably never know if my bribes ever worked but it was exciting just to try. I respect that you can't give out certain info about the reunion episode, but maybe after it has aired, you could open up a bit more. In any event, thank you for posting again. It has gotten rather lonely here since so many of the old timers have left the board. Many have drifted over to Carson's site, but continue to check the posts here so you haven't wasted your time. Please continue to keep in touch.....I still haven't gotten over your beautiful eyes. (Aren't you proud of me for not mentioning your underwear? )
