The Fab Five "made better" this star's brother so he can shine just as bright to the public. Discuss how they did right here!

What was the name of the song Kevin was singing during the sound check when Michael came in?

At first, I was a little puzzled by this episode. I was getting a feeling of sadness from Michael and his family (maybe because of the bruise by Neil's eye.....ow!...and Michael's rumpled appearance and "second banana status"), but then I started to think that they're just low key. I love that the family looks forward to "cocktail hour" with each other...that's good times. It was thrilling to see Michael come alive onstage and the montage of photos in the background was genius. I know that some peeps are going to gripe because clearly Michael and Betsy weren't hurtin' for bucks or good taste, but get over it, folks. At least we get to see Thom show off his talent. And as usual, Thom was considerate of the SG's personal style by incorporating the existing art....which was wonderful!

And, throw in some props for Kyan. Between the haircut & the products, Michael looked fantastic afterwards. Like Thom, Kyan addresses how to improve what is already there.

Good job of pointing that out, KCee. Sometimes I have so much love in my eyes, I hardly see anything but Thom! (What the bloody hell am I going to do next week? Is it really true that he's not going to be in the Jesan H. episode? Ghod, NO, I'm already jonesin' for him! )

I read it in the damn Jesan H. episode synopsis (pardon my French....I'm still upset.) I posted a query over on the General Comments thread fishing for more information.

I think they were just really low-key people too. I grew quite fond of them by the end of the episode. It was so nice that they all still hang out with each other, and I loved that they have cocktail hour.

It was really interesting to see what Thom did with an apartment that wasn't that bad to begin with. They did have wonderful art. I really thought Betsy wouldn't like it, since it was very different and apparently she's very opinionated, so I was pleased that she did!

But did anyone else suspect that Michael is really Peter Fonda's brother, and not Kevin Bacon's brother??

He sure did look fantastic. Check out iTunes music store - The Bacon Brothers are under New Releases, and Michael has kept up the look!

BIG HUGS to our dear Gentlemen Five - it was yet another wonderful episode. (I guess our dear guys are officially part of the "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" Game!)

...This is my second attempt to post, guys... the library computers are playing "Let's see who we can mess up next." So - while my previous post was lengthy, before the system crashed and deleted it... this will have to be greatly edited.

HUGS to the entire Bacon family! I thought the home was already quite lovely... (even though Thom's later incarnation boardered on the insanely MAGNIFICENT!)

I loved how friendly and genteel everyone was. (I hope the dear son's injury is healed soon!)

I was absolutely extatic to see dear Jai go back on his previous assertion that he would never again go shopping with the other boys. I've missed his participation and interaction. --The video display was truly touching during the concert - and a fitting backdrop to the Bacon boys beautiful song. Great job as always dear Jai.

I was flabberghasted at Carson's abdominal prowess! (Dearest Carson, were you a hula dancer in a former life??!!) I thought he had dressed the dear Fab Five wonderously as always. I always appreciate the style work that Carson does - and always find a new thing to share with my dad. Thanks Carson, great work!

[THUD] ...Pardon me while I recover. Kyan looked absolutely stunning this episode... so NATURALLY I had to re-watch things to catch the grooming tips he provided. I still missed what he said about facial redness. I have "apple cheeks" too - and MUST go back and re-watch the episode again to be able to apply his tip.
I thought our dear SG could stand to go a tad shorter on the doo - but he was honestly improved after Kyan's intervention. I hope he DOES use the products! Great job Kyan!

Ted looked so stylishly cool in this episode - and (while I don't embibe liquers) the coctail looked as stylish as Ted! He always has the perfect idea for cuisine. I'm sure glad he found someone to like his Fois Gras! (LOL!) Aces, dear Teddy - pure Aces.

Dear Thommy's curls are back! I'm SOOO pleased!
The make-better of the apartment was STUNNING! I can't believe for a SECOND that I could ever carry off
RED in a home without it looking like a brothel. Thom makes it exotic AND friendly every time. (That's why he's one of America's top 100 designers!) Hugs to you dear Thommy! Great job!

I absolutely LOVED getting to see the inner workings of a famous family. I know in the past - posters have railed against the celebrity appearance on an episode of QE - but to me, it makes them more accessable. More HUMAN, if you will.

The concert was wonderful. I hope that they were able to raise a great deal of money. I thought Carson's idea to auction off the cast off celeb duds was a great idea. Isn't there a charity by celebs called "The Clothes Off Our Backs?" Someone with more computer time than I should seek the link and post it here.

I'm going to go ahead and post this and continue on with a second post just in case the library's computer decides to act up again.

Peace precious pets! --De

YEA! A summary by De! I've missed those. Hope all's well.

(Pardon me while I whine a tad...)

I just wanted to express some feelings about the PRODUCTION of the show.

While I still believe that the entire staff of QE, Bravo and Scout are true professionals... I am irked by some of the latest production moves on QE.

There are technical annoyances - such as Bravo taking the show and compressing the opening images and closing credits into that annoying half screen. Not only do we miss the looks among the banter of the opening while a previous show's credits are maligned into crushed fonts - scrolling wildly below... but NOW we can't read the QE epi's closing credits for song and product information. Isn't this a bane to your sponsors? My wonderous freeze-framing VCR is even thwarted by this practice.

BOO! HISS, Bravo Programming Producers!

I am also preturbed by the editing process.
The thing that made QE so attractive in it's initial incarnation was the HUMAN componant. The lack of scenes of the QE team "getting into the mind" of their subject was the reason I never watched more than the first episode of QE4TS Girl. (Even the Straight Girl in epi #1 commented in that episode that all their advice was external and superficial instead of incisive and internal.)

The introspective analysis by the Gentlemen Five was always what set QE apart from all other make OVER shows. It's what made them SPECIAL, SET APART from the pack - as it were. Even MORE SO than their openly gay status.

The editing latley has given us tidbits of their comic antics - which I love... but alas is lacking in the gentle questioning about the subject's HEART-felt thoughts and desires. Gone are the gentle caring scenes.

Our gentlemen have clearly not changed... SG's (like in the Moose lodge epi) are still seen commenting that they're gonna miss the guys after they're gone. ...So it must be landing on someone's editing room floor.

(Boo, Hiss Scout Production staffers!)

We can live without a dash of product placement if you give us some more genuine Jai-time along with the other guys getting to KNOW the subject like in the old days. *&%^#$@ the critics that had always Poo-pooed the internal "psychie"/culture role of the make better. Ignore the ignorant lot! Please give us our introspection back.

One last thing before the library computer goes down...

I miss the loft at the Tate.

Thom is magnificent in the design of this new, more business oriented space... but I miss the warmth and home-y-ness of the old venue. All the white just appears cold to me. It doesn't lend itself to the relaxed atmousphere of earlier seasons. It's hare to envision that the guys are comfortably enjoying what they are viewing. It's a bit too "Corporate" to me. ...Just my feeling.

There's the bell. Library's closing.

Miss y'all! I'm still avidly watching along, post or no postings.

Peace precious pets!

A tad smoky down my way here in Texas... but still keepin' on truckin! LOL! Wildfires usually breed wonderful wild-flowers in the Spring. Look for pics on the net - or especially at Lady-Bird Johnson's Wild Flower Sanctuary website in April and May.

I am SO WITH YOU on this, De - it is REALLY REALLY REALLY irritating me, this smashed screen thing, and having to watch the credits from the last show rolling along. If I wanted to see the credits from the last show, I'd have been WATCHING the last show - and now if I DO want to see the credits, it's too bad because they are too scrunched up to read.

And while I'm whining, I'm going to whine about the very very very annoying ads for other shows that they keep running while QE is going on. That seem to take up more and more and more of the screen. I fear it's only a matter of time before we've got a Time-Code-like quad screen, where we're squinting at QE in one corner and being bombarded with commercials and previews in the other three.

I hope I haven't just given Bravo ideas.

Oh, I don't like the new "loft" either.

I totally agree with everything you two have said! Unfortunately, the oboxious ad and promos for other shows is something I've noticed ALOT lately in TV land (which why I don't watch much of it anymore). Sadly, I think the loft is now a set built to look like a loft, which really irritates me.

And am I the only one who's majorly dissappointed that there was no reunion ep for the holidays? Those were always my favorite episodes. They really showcased the bond the guys had with the straight guys.

I really loved the Skull and Bones sweater that carson was wearing in the episode- anybody know where he got it??

I hardly watch actual TV any more either. I don't watch anything lately but Queer Eye and - when I remember - The Colbert Report. Everything else I just rent. Commercials have gotten completely out of hand. Oh, for the good old days when Bravo only showed commercials between programs.

I missed having a reunion too.

That was a great sweater - I have no idea where it came from, though. Usually they do have a note about who designed the clothing at the end, but of course the squinched-up credits will probably keep anyone from being able to read it.

Hi I'm new to the board! Does anyone know what happened to the episode with Tyson Beckford? It was on the episode guide yesterday and today it was replaced by the nude guy. Does anyone know what happened? Thanks!

That was really weird. And supposedly next week's is a different one. With....eeeeekk... a huge spider. I think they did that once before, said there was going to be a new one and then showed it later. At least they showed one of my very favorites instead.

Did Bravo take us seriously in our whining about Thom's supposed absence? We still want to see it, Bravo!!

If you look at the schedule, it says that the "model" episode is on at 6 p.m. on Tuesday........so I don't know what the heck is going on........

That's just...weird. On Carson's board there was speculation it got bumped for the State of the Union address. Also weird.

Help! Does anyone remember the recipe for the cocktail made in the Bacon brother episode? I also need the complete name (a french - something-)of the cocktail. All I remember is two jiggers of (liquor?which)2 teaspoons powdered sugar, lemon juice (?how much) and top it off with champage. Thanks!

The French 75. Two jiggers of gin, don't recall how much lemon juice.

You can also make it with cognac, a sugar cube, and some bitters.
