Fab 5 Alert!!

The guys are going to be on the Today Show sometime next week. Sorry I can't be more specific the actual day wasn't mentioned but I thought I'd pass along the info.

Have you checked the Today Show site? I haven't but I'm about to!
ThomsTeddyBear
Ok, I've been checking out the food recipes in the book - probably because all I've had to day was a muffin - and Ted's lemon-rosemary roast chicken and I are about to have it out...and I intend to win! He says you can substitute thyme instead of rosemary - good gracious! Has anyone ever smelled thyme? The first time I smelled it, it was growing wild on a hill. I followed the scent until I found it. I asked a friend who was with me, "What is that amazing scent!" She said it was thyme. I snatched huge handfulls of it and put it in one of my favorite teapots. That scent lasted for years; I would just remove the cover and take a whiff every now and then and I was back at that hill. This recipe is one I definitely have to try...in thyme

I am so glad I back up my posts to a document....when the powers-that-be go, "That's a bit *MUCH* Ticklette.", at least I can go back and try and clean it up a bit. Which is very hurty for my little brain 'cos I have already tried to tone it down....*sigh* I don't think anyone reads my posts anyway, for them to be any kind of panic-contaminant. I will try my "Paean In Praise of Fabulous Ted" again. But believe me, the first draught was much funnier!

Quote:

I'm just curious, does anyone in here like Ted?

Ted is definitely my kind of man!

Praise and Hallelujah! Skyrockets in flight!!

I love an educated man with that signature, singular, skill with words and an impish sense of humour. Now, perhaps Ted ain't ya conventionial beauty - but *sigh* we have all met those clear-skinned, buffed and beautiful men who are achingly attractive physically, but then they open their mouths....and.....out comes a peculiar, squeaky voice like David Beckham's, or they are as thick as a brick, or a totally vacuous Narcissus who is in love with the mirror and his press-cutting book.

Happens all the time.

I think Ted has a fan site, but it's a bit bargain-basement, so I will just have to big it up for him here.

Handsprings and backflips for Ted....Hey! I always wanted to be a cheerleader....I can do the splits and everything!

So, remember, when you throw the dragnet over the side for a companion. If you are in the market for a keeper - look for the imagination and humour that will sustain a relationship beyond that white-hot,incandescence of (that-which-we-can't-mention)-on-a-stick, with One Date Guy whose single claim to fame is that he had a page in GQ.

Sometimes there is a blessed union of classical beauty and intellect, but that is a rare occurrence. Waiting for a heavenly body is literally, like waiting for a heavenly body. A comet....or strange mysterious planet to come into your orbit.

Hey! men who can cook evidence a real nurturing streak in them. They actually like to care for their significant other.

Ted gets my Oh, Yes, Yes, Yessss!!!

Good lord! You leave the message board for a weekend and look what happens, you come back to overflow city!

I was gone for 2 1/2 weeks without a laptop or other computer, so imagine how long it took to catch up on my reading of all these posts! I was in Singapore and Malaysia escaping the depressing cold of winter, and the fancy hotels where I stayed did not have Bravo from their cable provider, so I missed the Queer Eye marathon during that sports thingie - uhm, is it a puper bowl, or something? I'm so happy for all of you who have met members of the Fab 5 so far. (OK, who am I kidding...I'm seething with envy ) I missed our boys as well as all of you. Ticktick, you naughty little empress, I noticed that you got edited when you and Chara were having that little "discussion".
And TTB: Holy squiggly mirrors, Batman! The Bravo Board Boss may say you need 3000 posts, but since you finally met Thom, you should be an honorary priestess of Thomism. Loved your poetry about his eyes.
I got back Saturday. Now, I read in today's paper that Kyan was at the third annual Art for AIDS benefit right in my area that night! It showed a photo of him in a suit with a slight growth of beard along with Jackson Browne, Tom and Mrs. Petty and others. I missed him! WAAAAAAAHHH! It makes me sorta wish I wasn't such a globetrotter, but hey, a gal's gotta have some purpose in life, and mine is to see the world. There needs to be one listing online of ALL Fab 5 members' upcoming appearances around the country so we all can know about these things in advance and without doing extensive research to look it up. Yeah, we wannabe stalkers need to be
empowered!
my_guy_ky
Quote:

Anyone else notice the looks that Kyan always gave George (the Greek one.. whoever he was..) It was especially obvious in the Holiday Reunion when he first arrived and he was like "Oh, George is here...." It just had that tone...

It didn't seem that way to me, although if Kyan had the hots for George, I couldn't blame him. I think he's the best looking straight guy (after the haircut). I love huge muscles on men! Dayum! Kyan DID personally do George's colorweaving, and could've been admiring his own work, perhaps. If Kyan gave anyone looks, it seemed to me to be Richard M. Other than George, my fave straight guy was Steve S., not for looks, but because he seems more like myself than the others. And as for my least favorite guy on the show, many others will agree too, it was Alan C. *snaps* to Kyan for recommending the Body Shop tea tree moisturizer for him, though. I just bought some, and it makes my pores look smaller and really controls shine!
But we all know which episode I liked best!

...Just to let you know Carson is the same height as myself 5'11"tall he,s thinner then I am,maybe a little too thin.I'd say 150-158 pounds He has brilliant silvery blue eyes and soft pale looking skin.[not in a bad unhealthy way]he could just use a little more color like my face did after they shaved my beard off...

Say what?! I thought Carson was "tanorexic", almost like George K.
FiliciaFanatic
Man, that DVD is awesome -- Thom and Kyan can really sing! I must've rewound that part a hundred times, watching Thom, then realizing I should see what Kyan was saying, too, then going back to Thom (such a cutie!). More singing out of Thom, please -- he's really good!

I guess that just leaves us with Carson... anyone know if he can carry a tune?

(Oh, and the CD is awesome, too, and the book's good so far, though I was sad at the end of Thom's part, 'cause it was way too short for me -- Thom + Thom's expertise in design = I'd like to read a whole book, or a couple of whole books, not just a few pages.)

Thanks for the info on them being on the today show. That's great! There is a page dedicated to QE in this months Rolling Stone. They did an article about the upcoming album, or now already released album. Then they had a small article about Jai's new CD being released. It's worth a look!
Did anyone see Jai @ the Grammy's? Ohmygod he looked absolutely adorable. I saw Carson for a moment and it looked like he was wearing a white tux with glitter or something on it! It was definitely him!
Too whomever wanted to know, I am a huge Carson fan as well just because he's me in a man's body but all of them are great and I agree w/ whoever made the comment about him being tanorexic, I was kinda taken aback by Ghostbeard's observation! That's all for now folks! Looking forward to the Apprentice tomorrow night and most definitely the new episode next week!

Hmmm. Mon petit choufleur, you can believe me now , no-one reads your posts...merde! The howls from the populace about your dodgy spelling, should have raised you from your little princessy slumbers. The Angel-Above edits the naughty bits out - I do wish they would catch the gaffes like spelling "draft" as "draught."

The shame of it. And I have *stopped* having wine with my lunch.....perhaps, after all, I spell better after a lunchtime Chablis...or two.

One will be voiced by Thom, Ted, and Kyan and the other will be voiced by Thom, Ted and Jai - hey, a win-win situation for me! I've got 2 on hold at Barnes and Noble!

Check it out: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearc...04+00%3A46%3A13

Click on the book titles then click on "annotated" on the right hand side to hear them speak! This info was thanks to a member in Yahoo QEFTSG and Thom's Queer Eye

Nope, they were all on it - and it was GREAT!! I listened to it at work today and told my co-worker in the next cubicle to get ready because she was going to hear it every day for four hours a day!

And pay attention when Thom speaks - my gosh, I had to cover my mouth to keep from screaming! His voice rasps noticeably on the end of his sentences...it is so clear...and so deliciously maddening!

Darn it, class is starting...gotta go!

Her Maj, HRH, Her Exquisite Imperial Gracelessness, had her petite nose buried in the froth of her cappucino when she read this and nearly bit a chunk out of the coffee-cup rim.

And then there was an ominous silence.

Good Lord! No tantrums? No screaming? No sound of splintering Spode? No tiny feet drumming on the polished hardwood floors?

No.....she has gone hot-footing it to the Morning Room, to change the flowers and give it a vacumette and dust and lay out an extra place setting for the [expletive deleted] Goddess, Spiderella - who, her Radiant Gloriousness thinks may be just the type of black widow to have over for morning coffee and gossip.....if she is an arachnid who also has her tongue in her cheek - if not, and they are just spinning silk and sniping, they just get the Royal Curse from an Exquisite little pointy royal finger - the curse worse than that of the Pharaoh's Tomb - Galloping Alopecia.

Don't *joke* about the hair 'k.

One's hair is straight and fair. It is baby-fine and dies in the humidity. Boo-hoo. I wanted flowing tresses and waves that reflect the light....I wasn't behind the door when the flowing locks were being given out - I was out the foyer and five blocks down the street.....and around the corner. Ah well, at least I haven't got MPD.

Kane (coiffeur and colourist by Appointment to HRH) uses words like "fracturing the interior and getting some movement going".........which is hairdresser-speak for "Omg what am I going to do with this baby-silk?

I want hair that you have to brush with one hundred strokes before bed-time.

You're right tick, thumbs up for Ted!

All our boys are intelligent and they're all talented. There is an energy that bounds and ricochets through them. And if that energy came to rest anywhere, it would be with Ted; know why? Because he can stabilize it as well as release it. I don't think it's because he's the eldest member either - I think he has always been that way. I was always thought of as older for my age personality-wise, he may have been that way when he was younger. Now that doesn't make him a fuddy-duddy. He's able to say "ok, breathe," then "ok, go!"...on the fly. He has an energy that others give up on when they reach that area of their life.

And I don't think he is plain looking at all, he is indeed handsome. Didn't anyone notice those killer dimples? And if it weren't for my husband Thom's beautiful eyes, Ted would be the next to win HANDS DOWN. Those are some SERIOUS blues he's got going there!

Well, I wanted the eyebrow arch of a Disney Villain. My stylist/sculptress Terrell is doing the best she can, but I still get the occasional "cute" thrown at me. And, alas, cute is not evil.

Could we have brunch avec champagne instead? I do not leave the lair before 10-ish.

I try to spread the love around, but still can't help the fact that I'm *HOT* for Thom. It doesn't mean that I totally ignore the others, however. SO....just for Ted, WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!! I wish some of his recipes would make onto the website (unless they already are and I'm just missing them or something). For Carson.....the show would NOT be the show that it is if he wasn't in it. They all crack me up with the jokes, but none more so than Carson. LOVE YOU MORE THAN MY LUGGAGE!!!

Thanks TTB. I did watch that one part with them in it while my parents were out for a walk. They were bid at $9000. Which this is gonna sound totally pathetic but since its valentines day tomorrow I should fit right on in. I dont think there is enough money in the world even if all the money in the world was multiplied by like a billion times to measure their worth. I would seriously give my life for anyone who was in danger even my enemies but with the Fab 5 it wouldnt even be a seconds hesitation. I would do the same for any of you. I love you all.

I ordered my book online Wednesday, so it's on its way. I saw The Apprentice last night, too. I'm not a fan of Trump, and the theme of looking for a job, trying to impress the boss, backstabbing, teamwork, firings and professionalism is just TOO realistic. I watch TV to escape, not to think about work. The ONLY reason I watched was the Fab 5's appearance on it. Kyan looked delicious as usual and showed a good deal of charisma. I'm so proud of him, talking business like a little trooper! *Mwah*

I"M SO MAD! I just got this weeks US Magazine and on the back page under the title "Grammy's Big Goof-Ups" is a picture of Jai looking wonderful @ the Grammy's. I was so mad to see this because I thought he looked wonderful and very stylish. Underneath some comedian wrote the comment "I think his Queer Eye has gone out of focus." Not fair!
If you find any of Carson let us know because I'd be interested in seeing his entire outfit. Thanks alot!

I just have to let everyone know about my awesome "Queer Eye" experience. Kyan was in Minneapolis for a weekend making over one of our radio DJ's... I had the opportunity to meet with him on the last day that he was here, during the clothes shopping at Macy's. I had had my daughter tell him the day before that I would buy him the Very Sexy Victoria's Secret cologne if he came by to see me (I worked there) when he was done. So when he didn't show up I decided I would take it to him the next day when there would be less people around. My 7 year old son... who is a HUGE fan was so EXCITED to go meet him, he woke up sick and couldn't go... he was DEVISTATED. I went with my daughter and he was shocked that I would actually bring the cologne to him, he tried it and said it was yummy. I had made a letter for him (and the guys) with my son's picture and brought that to him as well. He was sweet enough to sign an extra photo for my son... well my daughter in the meantime called my son to tell him and Kyan graciously took the phone and talked with my son for about 5 minutes. David was beside himself, he was so excited. Kyan took the time to read the letter and answer his questions and he made his day! The care and compassion that you see when you watch the show is REAL... I have always loved the FAB 5 but this brought the respect to a whole new level... Thank You Kyan for making a little boy very happy.

Of COURSE I'm not that shallow, it's just that she was talking about Kyan's good looks, so I thought I'd talk about Jai's. I look up to him (even though he's a guy and I'm... not). He's sooo talented and caring and... I could go on forever.
That stupid magazine obviously has NO sense of style. Retro is back, people, and Jai shows it off as well as anyone.

BTW, Sunday is my next chance to record the John Verdi episode!

I don't think I should ever watch The Apprentice again, no matter how much I want to. Last night after watching it (left class early to catch the boys), I dreamt that I was being interviewed along with a bunch of other techies (I'm not one yet) inside this humoungus warehouse! We were shown to columns that had computer and machine parts on them; about 5 to a column. The other techies (or techies in training) were having problems - we were supposed to get a series of three large l-e-d's to light up. I looked underneath the techno-jumble, twisted some frayed wires together, and got the lights to work. After I did, the lady who led us in told everyone the test was finished and led us all back out. I usually don't dream because they're precognitive, so I can't grasp this one - my internship isn't for another 2 or 3 semesters.

I was completely surprised they didn't go for more money....man to be so lucky to win a day w/ them. Did y'all notice that they were wearing the same clothes as when they did the Jeff Toale episode? That sorta gives us a timeline. Just wish they were on it for a little bit more!

It was a really short appearance, but a little is better than none at all! Yup, and I did notice they were wearing the Jeff T. clothes too. I can't believe they only went for 9,000! I'm serious, I would have bid my car...if I had one that was worth something

Well people, I'm a Thomaholic but I love all the boys...so on that note, Carson will be at the Buffalo Home and Garden Show! Here's the info:

It's the ONE and ONLY CARSON KRESSLEY!

"Join us on March 7th at 1:00pm as Queer Eye for the Straight Guy's Carson Kressley shares entertaining stories about the FAB Five and provides tips for creating and maximizing your personal sense of style. As the TV show's outrageously funny fashion policeman, Carson's sharp sense of style and humor have catapulted him to stardom."

I remember flipping thru the channels months ago and came upon QE on Bravo, watched it once and I was hooked ever since, have not missed an episode or marathon since that time. The concern that each of them shows towards the person they are making over is just great, they don't just shame them into doing the makeover. Am just amazed at Thom's skills in turning a one time dump into a palace, seeing the b4 and after is just great. As for Kyan, what can I say? Have been exfoliating and moisturizing since I saw the first show and has done my face a world of good, was using bar soap b4 that, oh the horror!! lol. It took a gay man to make this straight guy realize that bar soap is just not good for the face. I just bought the book and the CD, they are both awesome!! Am thinking of getting the book as read by the Fab 5 on CD, would be enjoyable to have them in the CD player in the car. The only ones who seem to understand my love for the Fab 5 are my female friends, the guys just don't get it, think they need lessons from Fab 5 in taste and class, lol.

"If you can't say something nice...come sit by me." -- Carson
(quoting STEEL MAGNOLIAS)

Ruining my manicure drumming my nails on my desk-top. The frowny line on my forehead is back.

Carson Stole My Line!

That, cher' Carson Lee, is My Line!!! ,though penned originally by one, "Alice Longworth Roosevelt" and it more correctly went, "If you can't say anthing nice about anybody, then Honey, come and sit down right beside me!" it is mine, mine mine!! MINE!

Her Maj, has it worked as a motto, in meticulous cross-stitch sampler; gilt-framed and hanging over the Imperious Exquisite One's Posturepedic.

But I might let you borrow it Carson. But it is not for "keepsie's" 'k.

I wanted to give Carson a Valentine. Which is totally silly, because Valentines are supposed to be anonymous....and anyway, just what do you give to the man who has got everything?

A lovely poem. Well, MY lovely poem to be more precise.

I got this love-poem in a bouquet of rapturously beautiful Valentine flowers from my sweetie and the poem is alluring, exotic and apt.

It is also a traditonal love-poem from Crete.....a mantinada.

Ksantha mallia stin kefali, dimeni metin taksi.
Trikha me trikha yinete, makhairi na me sfaksi
aman, aman yiarem.

Fair hair so well combed,
strand by strand,
it becomes a knife with which to cut me.
I am prepared to die.

Candles are going to be lit. The wine has already been opened to breathe and that pager better not bleep. Romance is on my mind.

(Oh, and the CD is awesome, too, and the book's good so far, though I was sad at the end of Thom's part, 'cause it was way too short for me -- Thom + Thom's expertise in design = I'd like to read a whole book, or a couple of whole books, not just a few pages.)

am i missing something? In what DVD are Thom and Kyan singing? and where can I get it?!?

The DVD that comes with the special-edition version of the CD.

C'mon, those pants were hideous. The shirt wasn't too bad, but the pants were right out of a bad '70s porno. I love Jai to pieces, but whoever let him leave the house like that should be slapped.

"HELLO, QUEERAHOLIC!"

lol - Welcome to the boards!

Thanks! I think Ted is great, but during the segments when all five guys are together, it seems like the rest of them drown him out most times...or maybe it's just me!

Because of this post , I got to go!! It was a cool night, alot of entertainment, meeting new people and seeing the five of them all together onstage. It was very crowded, but I managed to be three feet away from the stage towards the left. We had fun.

The "comedian" was just mad because he got turned down for a make-better...they said he was a hopeless case.
