This one was really fun! I mean they all are, and it's not my fave, but it was really fun! Thom is MAGNIFICENT!! I was freaking over the candles over the table on the walls - BRILLIANT! And the open case as a divider between the vestibule and living room...I'm seeing the arch between my living room and dining room in a whole different light!
The bead idea that Jai presented to David was wonderful - that is something that I would love, though I'm not into such "unusual" color schemes as David's wife, lol
WTG for David's skillful handling of Ted's recipe! My daughter and I were like, "Omg, he's gonna screw it up"...it came out perfect! And she's interested in the drink because she said, "It looks like it's non-alcoholic." She drinks non-alcoholic juices but lord can she ever finish off a bottle if I let her!
Ok, moments and lines I liked:
"That smells like gym shorts"
Ted: "How would you know, OH, how would you know!
Thom
Kyan: "I don't like these I don't like these I don't like these, AH!"
Thom
Thom chasing the bone, lol!
Thom
The fecal coated rubik cube - EWWW!
Thom
Them dancing in the living room to the Jewish song whose name I can't spell, lol
Thom
Thom: "Dude this is crazy, this is like...stupid"
Thom
Thom: "What do these people eat? It doesn't really seem like they eat food"
Thom
Thom and David changing roles in the furniture store - that was too cute!
The shaving - WAAAAAYY SCARY!!
Oh, and Thom!
There were just alot of cute little fun moments in this episode and I enjoyed it! It's one you can never get enough of watching...well ok, I never get enough of watching them all but that's beside the point, lol

This episode rawked! So many laughs! And Ky looked utterly AMAZING! Well, doesn't he always?
I liked Thom's joke in the Fabmobile about being a "do-it-yourselfer".
I hope Ky didn't really get hurt with the lint shaver(?) near the beginning. Poor dear. He looks so cute when his face is contorted in pain. (Did I just say that? Bad MGK!)
Carson looked funny when he smelled the locker room odor.
When the wife told Kyan about fecal matter on the Rubic's cube, I thought: I'm not Jewish, but I heard that reading on the can is not Kosher, so the same should apply in this case.
Carson and Jai were cute wearing the beads and I liked Carson's sweater, and again, his hair.
Meep! Ky found the 'pons. It would've been funnier if Jai found them, because when that tampon was thrown around, it looked like one of his white mice. (they look way better in their applicators, people)
I like the sequin pillows that Thom picked out as well as Jai's idea about making the glass beads.
Kuegel(sp?): Never had it, but it looks "dulishus"! I liked the way Ted toasted with forks to the kuegel.
Thom's work was amazing! And how cool was it that he taught the SG how to decorate a room!
OK, I never make fun of my boyfriend Kyan, but when he said, "At the very least, white teeth give the illusion of fresh breath", I was all "hah, hah, hah" and pointing at him! OMG! He cooked!!!! I just wanted to come up behind him while he was stirring the sauce. That Pom spritzer looked "dulishus", too. Again, my thoughts were running blue, because I imagined taking the glass out of Ky's hand, taking a small sip, and giving him an open-mouthed kiss to share the sweet nectar, then removing his shirt and drizzling some onto his chest and lic -- Oh, right, back to the David G. episode!
They didn't let Jai drive. Hee!
And I must thank Bravo for showing MORE SHIRTLESS KYAN in the mid-show Hip Tip!!!!!! Thank Ghod I recorded this one! I guess he said something about steam being good for pores. Or something. Oh, well, I'll have to watch it again later to be sure.
I wasn't really feeling the green blazer on the wife when she came in (emerald looks better on moi) It was funny when the guys saw that she was verklempt. These two were good sports about the Jewish jokes.
In the loft, I loved Ky's hair, now that it's trimmed in the back, yet longish on the sides and he wore the front down. He looks amazing in that casual vest, too.
In his Hip Tip, I don't know what in Ghod's name he said, just that he was shaving and that he has such gorgeous eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!

CW removes the oxygen mask and waves away the paramedic holding the defibrillator paddles. Still slightly gasping for breath, she manages to utter "good show."
The paramedics look at the TV, look at each other and smile knowingly. Both glance back at the TV which is freeze-framed on Kyan in a bath towel. Paramedic #1 mutters "there'll be others." Paramedic #2 shakes his head but lets his gaze linger a little longer on the TV screen. "Yep, it's going to be a busy night for us."

Oh my ghod.
I'm in such trouble over this episode, guys.
You've all heard the saying, "If you haven't got something nice to say, say NOTHING at all."
...I'm speachless.
No. I didn't HATE it. I've never hated an episode of Queer Eye.
The only episode I really don't care to watch - and have refused to commit to tape is the Alan C. episode - because I felt like a traitor for not liking Thom's "Land of the Lost" furniture. I REALLY disliked Alan's uncleanliness during the prep, breaking glass and family's awkward silence.
Y'all know there've been episodes that I have been pretty much the ONLY one who DID like the episode - even after the Fab 5 themselves classified them as "disasters."
Did I think David and Jessica were just the CUTEST? Oh, BIG yes!!!
Did I LOVE the romping and playing by the Gentlemen Five? Oh, I haven't lost my mind, dear ones - OF COURSE I DID!
Was I wanting to run to the computer, grab the recipes and then run to the store for the ingredients to make that AMAZING looking meal? OH! STILL want to!
Was I just as impressed as all-get-out with Jai's amazing choice for a "Do-it-yourselfer"'s gift for his creative wife? You betcha!!!!!
Am I glad I have this episode on tape? OH YES! I'll watch it over and over and over just like the others... only this time to desensitize myself to the insignificant areas I have problems with.
But I do feel like a traitor.
Oh, Carson.
My dearest Carson! (Ok, yeah, I said "my"... sorry.)
Diesel Style Labs' couture needs to continue experimenting, 'cause they just don't have it right yet. PRECIOUS!
And Thom.
My dearest, most resplendent man! (There I go again, with the "my"'s!) Honey, I can take the fact that you brilliant men can take a SINGLE element that I have long ago decided to dislike - and turn it on it's ear to make me change my way of seeing it... but FOUR in combination... (no, FIVE) was just more than I could take.
(Oh, I'm just WAY too obsessed with this show... the mere IDEA of not liking something Thom and Carson - or ANY of the guys did, just makes me HEARTSICK!)
I was laughing and squealing through most of the show... (Oh... TTB... I'm just DYING to read how you and the Thommy wives reacted to Thom saying he was a "do-it-yourselfer" two or three times a day! )
But halfway through I began to get a migrain. I realized (sort of like I was about the first airing of the Ralph episode) that I was clenching my teeth and furrowing my brow.
LAWD! Carson! I just wanted to grab my crochet hooks and re-weave those hanging accent yarns! They simply made me INSANE! Those sweat-shirt material palazzo pants with sash looked like he had once weighed 300 pounds - went on a rapid weight loss plan, and then hadn't purchased new clothes yet. Everything was just WAY too oversized! I was actually RELIEVED when he put on that wild, blousy silk print shirt. It was actually more HIM.
LAWD! Thom! My three least favorite colors in the WORLD are THAT hue of orange, THAT hue of purple, and THAT hue of green. My least favorite wall coverings are busy prints that mimic a polka dot look - like: little flowers everywhere. ...And Thom had it ALL in one place!!! AAAAAAAaaaaaaah! ...And I'm sorry... I liked the abstract painting and -ok- HATED the Dragon!
(Oh! I'm just sick!)
I SO get how Thom couldn't stand the bedroom wall's faux finish - so he had to attempt to change it during their time constraint... and I think it's a good thing he left the materials for these two artists to complete the task... but again, that PURPLE!!!
The elements were wonderful... the colors just killed it for me!
Ok...
I'm getting another headache.
I'll rhapsodize about everything else in other posts later.
I'm just dying to see the Kyanites reaction to the HipTip! (I just wanted to rub that cute fuzzy tummy....!!!!)
I loved so many things about this episode - that I don't want you to think this is low on my list of favorites, by ANY means... I just had to unburden myself about the negative in order to fully enjoy the positive.
Sorry.
I'll be back throwing hearts and flowers at this episode later! Peace to you all, dear fellow fans! --De

Some quick thoughts since I've only watched this episode once (so far). I really thought this was a cute couple who, you can tell, really cares for eachother. Loved the glass bead making idea. Also...the wife...I think her name is Jessica (forgive me if that's not right)has some awesome handbags! As for our Guys...is it just me, or did Ted seem a bit under the weather in the beginning of the episode? Like maybe he had a cold or something? Also...I'm so glad they finally showed Thom painting not in Super-Fast motion. I wish he'd come to my house to show me some cool painting techniques! Did you guys notice when David said to Thom "this is your best work yet". Might he be a QE fan? Who isn't!

Poor Ted, I hope he is well - all that running around in the elements, they'll catch their death of pneumonia!
I couldn't agree more about them showing Thom in real-time - I was MOST grateful! I LOVED that they showed Thom teaching a painting technique, that was so right! Leaving the unfinished room for them to do was a smart idea since they are very hands on people - it will let them feel like they've contributed to the revamping on the house too.
Overall, GREAT episode!

I love how we got to see more of Thom actually working with the person -- instead of just "hey, do you like this couch," it was him teaching David about color and showing him why things would look good, and even teaching him to paint a room himself. (Faux finish -- *gasp!* That's totally not his thing. The fact that he was willing to adapt to some horribly faux-finished rooms by at least teaching David how to make it look decent is a testament to Thom's adaptability, I think.)
Also, I love when we get to see one of them working out of their area -- Thom shopping for clothes with Carson, or Jai buying candles with Thom, or whatever. It's a nice chance to see what the guys' tastes and ideas are about other things, not just one area of expertise. Tonight, for instance, I loved that Kyan went into the kitchen with Ted and helped cook.

Good episode! David G was cute as a whip (and the boys thaught he was too cause he is so tiny)....he looked awesome with his black leather blazer and outfit the nite of the fashion show. I loved Jess, she seamed like a wonderful person, very down to earth! I checked out the website of her handbags (very Kate Spade!) and was impressed. I wish her all the luck! Seeing her happy emotions put a tear in my eye! The boys worked their magic again! Now they better hurry over to Jonathan's salon for the big opening!

Ok, I'm really jealous of David. I have been wanting those sheets, comforter and pillows from West Elm for months now. I'm a big purple fanatic and my bedroom HAS to be purple. I've been needing a bedroom makeover for quite some time but just have been so financially bad off lately that I'm lucky when I can buy groceries.(I have to keep telling myself that I only have a few more months of living in squallor till I get my RN) It's hurts even more to see that those particular West Elm items are on sale now for dirt cheap and I STILL can't afford them! Ugh!I thought it was a good idea for Thom to make the MB finish the room for once and really enjoyed his painting lesson. I wish I could have seen the finished result though. And we need more designing lessons from Thom in future episodes. I just love to watch that sexy man in action.
There was so many things I loved about this show. Mostly everything that had to do with Thom. That guy just amazes me more and more each show.
The way David shaved himself was just, well.....scary. I was cringing the entire time. I have to say I was very impressed with the way he pulled the dinner together so well. And way to go Jai for coming up with the idea of making her jewelry! That was such a sweet idea. Where can I find a guy that will do that for me?
This tongue scraping idea was kinda gross too but hopefully it will help with the hallitosis problem. And dude, it's great that you work out but you need to wash your gym clothes more than once a month! Wearing sweat drenched clothes is just nasty.

This is honestly in my top ten of favorite shows! Even with a horrid case of food poisoning, I was so estatic with the whole episode that I would've been bouncing, if I hadn't been so seasick. Gawd, there is so much that I love on this one that I won't even begin to go into it all.
Three things stand out though:
1. The overall energy and sense of fun in this show, the guys were in rare form. Last week, I felt like they were going through the motions. So many clever quips and it was great to see them diverging from their usual paths, i.e. Kyan cooking.
2. The house make-over was one of Thom's best, and, yes, I, too, am a purple freak.
3. JAI IS BACK! He looked like himself and seemed to really be having fun again. This is the charismatic, intelligent, sensitive young man that all of us Jai-ites so adore. I could watch him make beads all night *loud sigh* This one show makes all the recent worry just wash away (Thanks for listening, Depoetic!).
This show made me very, very happy.

NOW LISTEN UP, ALL YOUZ THAT WANTS TO KNOW ABOUT "KUGEL!"
THE RESTOVIA JUST SCROLL PAST THIS POST.............
My first experience with kugel was as a guest at a Seder (Passover) meal some Jewish friends hosted for their gentile friends. I was so impressed by her kugel that our hostess took me aside to teach me a little bit more about them.
She explained that there are many varieties. Basically, they can be divided into three main catagories: veggie based, pasta based, and desserts. Sometimes kugel can be a hybrid of any two of them. She gave me several family recipes, which I tried and loved. Unfortunately, that was multiple moves ago and they have been lost.
Before writing this post, I "googled" for the term, "kugel recipe" (yes, in quotes) and found enough to feed the state of California and some left over for Rhode Island!
Try it, you'll like it!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, now, De, it's ok not to be ecstatic over everything they do! I didn't care for Carson's own couture in this one either, and generally I think he can get away with wearing just about anything. Including the purple-and-gold-madhouse shirt from the consignment store. I liked that on him. The baggy stuff just looked sloppy.
Personally, I'm still trying to recover from the orange-and-blue-upholstery fabric suit Thom was wearing in the Christmas reunion episode. Let's not even go there. Maybe THAT'S where the Enquirer got the idea that Carson and Thom were feuding. "Here, Thom, wear this! It's PERFECT!!"
I did like the purple stuff Thom picked out. Wasn't wild about the couch color, but I liked it once the room was finished. (In fairness, our TV seems to be at death's door and we keep getting weird green hues that I don't think are the real colors of things.) I LOVED the end product when he was done with the house. I didn't love Richard Toupee Man's bedroom, though. To me it was incredibly dark and oppressive.
Yet, I still adore Carson and Thom, so it's all ok!

Highlights for me: Thom's do-it-yourselfer line....well, let's face it...Thom doing or saying just about anything is a highlight for me. The Fab 5 dancing in yarmulkes. Kyan saying "oh my gawdy" when he saw the bathroom. Ted making kugel (I love..j'adore..kugel). Jai having David make that beautiful bracelet and guiding him to give it to Jessica at just the right moment.
Note to Carson: Jessica should get top billing...David should be the Gabbana in Dolce & Gabbana and the Da in Pra..da.

With Carson's field of expertise, I think I remember him being heavily involved in New York's Fashion week... so doing this show was a natural connection to his current and former vocation.
It once again demonstrates that relationships are partnerships where BOTH give 100% to each other. The Fab 5 just helped him step up to the plate! (Too bad the article Celtic Wench provided indicates he didn't decide to maintain for his wife after the make better. Sigh.)

Tivo went south at the end of the David G episode. Does anyone know who the group was performing during the glass blowing segment? Thanks
Welcome to the forum! I'm glad you stopped in! I don't think I'll make it in time for tonight's cycle of posts - so I'll rewatch the epi and get it to you in time for tomorrows, ok?
Anyway - Peace! And hope you stop in to chat often! --De

Before writing this post, I "googled" for the term, "kugel recipe" (yes, in quotes) and found enough to feed the state of California and some left over for Rhode Island!
Try it, you'll like it!!!!!!!!!!

OMG, you read my mind! Seriously, just before coming on here this evening, I too, googled kugel recipes and saw so many variations. I didn't find the kasha(?) in the show's version too appetizing, and cutting up potatoes and apples is alot of work. So I was curious about the traditional version. Tomorrow, I think I'll try out the "Jerusalem kugel" recipe that I found and printed out.

Dear BBB....
If you'll notice, I'm listed as "Totally Plugged in."
And well earned, if I may say so.

I will concede that title to Celtic_Wench - who is FAR from an "Occassional Viewer"!
I'm trying my darnedest to shake this label. Its like a monkey on my back I'm reminded of that childish chant, "sticks and stone may break my bones, but names will never hurt me." But I will prevail! We Irish are a hardy bunch.

I'm sorry... I laughed for a full five minutes about this question!!!
You're asking a gal from TEXAS if it's ok to wear boots all year 'round? Lawdy! Some guys wear their boots to BED here! **De again screams with laughter - imagines Carson coming across a SG who does that here in Dallas!!!**
It depends on where you live hon! (Hey, newbies! Edit your location fields already!)
If you're in the Southern US - or where it's always cold, or where there's a lot of farm land... boots 24/7/52/365!
Hollywood? NY? Anywhere in England? South America? Asia? I don't know... (Help me out folks!) ...Anyway, just make sure they're polished, well fitting, free of mud and manure, fitted with the proper spurs (just kiddin'), and well heeled and you should be fine.
...Unless you're wearing shorts at the time... !!
Peace pet! Have a good weekend! --De

Well I really loved this episode. It was funny. I think everyone's pretty much covered everything.
No hon, PLEASE don't worry about giving a review - please tell us how you FELT about it! Who cares if it's been said before!!!
...But as for "I think everyone's pretty much covered everything"... **De screams with laughter, falls off chair... rolls out of room... rolls back... climbs weakly back into her own chair**
**Batting eyes innocently**
Why whatever do you mean??? I don't think NEAR enough has been said!
**De checks her VCR to see how much further she has to go on her habitual 6 page posting diatribe**
People are getting tired of my verbosity - I know - but it's a disease...
Peace and grace to you today! Have a good weekend! --De

mgk, et al: If you buy egg noodles in the "kosher" section of the market, some brands have a simple (but delicious) recipe for noodle kugel on the back of the package.

Let me know what you thought of it. When I re-googled "Jerusalem Kugel" I was amazed at the number of little variations in each recipe. There must have been 50 or more entries. It was also touted as a low-carb dish! One was submitted by a rabbi who insisted that to make a kugel properly one must drink a glass of good wine as a part of the process.

well, it was rather unfortunate that this one (I found) was not one of the best (SORRY!!!) I did love it, and I'm sure once I see it again (and again...) I'll grow to love it even more.
But I was introducing my new boyfriend to the show, and I needed it to be SPECIAL!!! I needed madcap zaniness, I needed heartfelt tears from the straight guys... I needed the twins or something! Sadly, he was not impressed (what are the chances this relationship continues???) But, looking on the bright side... 2 episodes down, and the new season is well under way!!!
Not impressed?! Ditch 'im.

*trying to breathe again after reading that TTB typed "not impressed! Ditch im"*
*feeling a little light headed*
TTB, I know you're joking. It was actually kinda funny!

The other day I posted about Carson and how he can pull any outfit off and always has great outfits. I take that back. The entire episode I was laughing at him. What the heck was that guy wearing?
I think Carson got those terrible pants out of Eminem's closet! Didnt they look like pants Eminem would wear? Carson sweetie! Your pants are usually a few sizes smaller dear!

OMG! I laughed so hard when I read this "recap" of David's ep.

from the article: Now if you will excuse me, I somehow have to find a way to separate my kitchen from my dining room before next week's episode.
This is scary. I find myself always cleaning my house ever Tuesday night before each episode. Does anyone else "prep" their home before the show--you know--just in case?
